combine the mechanics of that, and the writing style and co-op play of world at war, and i think you have a possibly very volatile concoction for a game that truly leaves a mark on the player
It may not have had great multiplayer, but it had one of the best campaigns in the entire franchise. I had more fun with this campaign than most of the modern warfare campaigns
You were able to go into an area just buy prestiging... You were able to watch stuff and the way they had hidden Easter eggs with the balls and would have designs for the holidays.. was a great thing
I just need more WW2 style games, but i want something different, I would love to see a ww2 game in the POV of a front line german Solider, as most front line soliders had no idea what was really happening behind the scenes. I think it would add a nice element to the game.
The headquarters was actually pretty cool I remember using the sitting sliding glitch to slide around the whole headquarters would follow me tryna figure out how I did it ww2 is underrated honestly
Headquarters, quartmaster, 1v1, War, non p2w supply drops, destruction (small but could open new paths). Honestly WW2 was so underrated for what it actually offered
The headquarters would have been SO GOOD for cold war! A clandestine operating house filled with other players were you can view all these stats and shit on papers stabled to corkboards, test out your weapons in an underground range, and all the other things WW2 did but more fleshed out. It would have helped Cold War flesh out its identity as a COLD WAR game too.
WWII had such a great campaign, I take for granted how great it was because I beat it the same night I got it. But really, looking back, it was a great COD and I didn't hate any of the maps. War needs to make a comeback btw
One of the major reasons I liked this cod was because my dad played it when I was young and I’d be aloud to stay up past my bed time and watch him play. Now he’s pretty much quit gaming so I’ve been playing myself once in a while.
The quartermaster has enough cake for every person alive before, during and after the war from every single country that participated to hoard and feast on, and still have cake left
The zombies game mode is fun but as a guy who got to round 53 by himself with only the 1911, Thompson and ppsh together it does get a little boring after awhile
I have to admit, I loved the war game mode in ww2, I forgot what it was actually called but storming across the map, building the bridge, stuff like that was fun, not to mention the final reich was pretty good and unboxing top tier loot whilst having a group of strangers surrounding you was pretty hype
The beach maps on that mode could either be the most fun you ever have or the most frustrating and that bridge map I know the one your talking about I think it was also really fun regardless
Honestly you know it’s saying something when my favorite parts of the game were the campaign and the HQ. That’s about it, everything else I just got bored of or never played
I mentioned this the other day while my friends played mw2. How it was so much easier to do stuff and fun to be in. Now we have some dumbass Hulu made menu, and it's more complicated than quantum physics.
The war mode was so fun in this game, but I had this weird thing happen all the time where my announcer would go full volume and blast my eardrums out at 2am 😂😂
cod ww2 had some of the coolest cosmetics and inatead of paying for them you could actually earn them and it was a really good feature, i personally think it was one of the better cod games even though a lot of its features are very different from the standard cods

Funniest thing on headquarters was you can shoot while emoting.
I personally feel the the ww2 soundtrack was the greatest ever. Made the game more immersive
i’m guessing Bungie took that from WWII and made The Tower in D1 and D2. smart move.
Nah worst Activision mistake was not making ghosts 2 and leaving us on THAT FUCKIN CLIFF HANGER
Hq even had a firing range so you and your buddy or strangers can see who has the greatest weapon
i got this short after i just completed half of the cod ww2 campaign.. and the soundtrack just makes me wanna cry

I mean...it's not a bad idea to have an HQ again, be nice to see custom COD characters again too
HQ was sick they should have added another event instead of just fending off the luftwaffe it was a fun thing
I also miss the war modes those were fun at times sure u could cheese em but they were unique to ww2
that opening music was underrated and so was the game they could re use it but make it better

Don't forget the best zombie mode
The quartermaster has enough cake for every person alive before, during and after the war from every single country that participated to hoard and feast on, and still have cake left
Zombies on WWII felt good, scary bc how much detail they put on the faces and limbs of the zombies, still weirds me out to this day

The second closes thing to a HQ was bo3 campaign but it was nowhere near the same as this
The destiny tower coming out before this in both games:
Everybody hated the social hub at the time and I wanna remind everybody how expensive the update guns were atleast $20 worth of scrap

The biggest mistake they made was making vanguard
