Polly's voice is astounding, it is a true instrument. Hearing her so clearly in a studio with this acoustic backup is more proof of just how talented she is and how pure her voice is.
This is brilliant - love how she laughs at 14.10 as she sanitises the lyrics on pocket knife for a US radio audience. Fountain and you come through are both perfect.
Awesome session circa "Uh Huh Her". There really is no substitute for the combination of a great microphone and someone who knows how to interact with it.
passion. I think PJ is the first woman that intimidates me, which has nothing to do with her fortune or fame. she's just fucking intimidating. One of the very best vocal talents in the world, for certain. This session shows it so well. Based on this session, I'd bet the Peej would sing "I feel love" amazingly if she still has that level of voice still in her...
Me: Hey, check this out. Friend: She's lip-syncing! Me: What?! No, I can assure you- Friend: Everyone lip-syncs these days. Me: Ok, go away. The lesson is never try to share cool music with your idiot coworkers.
Anyone happen to know the guitarist's names? I saw this tour on my 18th birthday in LA and they were phenomenal. The rainstorm outside was wild and during the Darker Days of Me and Him the power went out!
Is that Josh Klinghoffer? He is a superb rhythm guitar player. Why can't the red hot chilli peppers have him on rhythm guitar backing up John Frusciante's lead guitar playing instead of always having one guitarist at a time?
I don't know, He was a backing guitarist on the stadium arcaium tour in 2007. I'm a bit upset that they let John be in the band for the third time because he'd already done two stints with them. I think he won't back off from them,I felt sorry for Josh and I discovered he was with Polly a couple days after RHCP released his departure statement and a couple years ago I was obsessed with RHCP I loved him and Anthony Kiedis I was only 9 that's how I discovered him.
John was angry at Josh for joining them after he left the band. They haven't been friends since then. Josh talked about this a little in his Marc Maron interview a couple years ago. I have no idea why John ONLY blamed Josh for that decision...

Coolest possible studio session, perfect mixture of acoustic guitar, bass and PJ voice
Pocket Knife OMG best version my Lord so bad Asss
I love playing this album, Uh Huh Her, in the evenings and nights, it takes me to a place of late sunsets, loneliness, and city lights.
This performance of Fountain is just bonkers.
My favorite off Dry. So nice to see it getting this amazing treatment 🥰
Totally!!! Wooow…Imma listen to this on repeat….
I know and I loved this lineup with Josh and Ding
P.J. Harvey is so talented, the creativity, the emotion she conveys and of course, that voice, her music is so very special to me.
💓💓💓💓😊💓💓💓💓
She's a genius 💙
Wow didn’t know this existed. Good set list. She’s incapable of releasing a bad song.
Outstanding music. Thank you.

Art.
Human culture at its best.
shit, I'm still recovering this absolute wonder tonight.
Again and again...
Fantastic performance. Great big sound from just an acoustic backing. Very well recorded session. She is a rocker for sure.
ST Peterson #ROCKSTAR 🤘👄🙌
I love her blouse, as we seen it in the cover of the LP "Is this desire?". PJ is always different in every album. I LOVE HER-
The best rythm section she's never had. Thanks for this. Long awaited.
PJ Harvey Unplugged! Sounds Incredible!
👌🏻⚡️🎸😎
She truly is an amazing artist

Totally agree Maestro, this has got to be one of her best sessions, I keep coming back to it. Peace.

Impossible to understand how this woman has always talked to me.
If she leaves before me, goodbye everyone.

Kurt Cobain was a big PJ fan. He probably would have liked this album the most. Great video!

Superb. Love this.
Oh my

The idea of Polly lip synching is too ridiculous to ponder.
Polly Jean Harvey !
Yep, the one and only 😊 💓

@@fabianmarilao6316 Thank you so much! Happen to know the other one's name?
@@AlongCameMary The bassist's name is Simon Ding Archer and the drummer's name is Rob Ellis.
@@fabianmarilao6316 Thanks so much! And ugh sorry yes bass lol. I thought that was Rob on drums.
What is the source of this, please? I'm trying to find Zero 7 and Sia's performance on KCRW 2004 (video version)
