I really loved the game and can’t wait for what they do going forward. Lots of potential and the groundwork is laid for them now to expand if they do a sequel.
I would rank Magik higher. You are not supposed to place a portal without having a means to use it that turn because they move when they attack. So I didn’t understand that, just keep it in your hand till next turn
I love blade. I can KO 6 enemies with him and leave some heavy bleed to bigger enemies as well as do savage to take a blocker out of block and leave bleeding all in one turn. No support but he kills a lot pretty fast for me.
I don't envy this content creator, there's no right answer. I've put 100 hours into this game and Ghost Rider is my best hero; I play him with Hunter and heal him if I need to, but I just Lash it up, Drop a Hellmouth if I need heroics and Hell Ride for the win almost every game (big bosses get the Penance Stare). Meanwhile this creator has Captain Marvel at two; she's my favorite hero, but it takes three cards to make her go Binary, you should wait for the next turn after you have it to use it and then if you use her as your Tank she'll lose her block (and her binary) quickly. That said, if you play her with another Tank like Captain America to soak up attack she's so much fun. This game just isn't made for tier lists or rankings because in the right team with the right cards they're all incredible.
I disagree with some of these pretty strongly but at least we agree ironman is insane. Aside from the hunter he's the one that's turned around the most missions for me as the last man standing.
It's hard to have a "favorite" character. I'm very surprised at how much I use all the characters. This has been the first game with this many characters in it where I can honestly say there are few that I don't use often. I don't use blade often for instance...and that not cause he is super weak or anything, just cause I don't like his play style as much as some others. But I also don't super mind using him when I have to.
the little bit i have played (~level 11 and just got cap america), it took a while to get some running, but i love Magik. Gather can do a ton of damage to a bunch of enemies and bring them together.
I don't have all the heroes yet, and I am terrible at the game but I think you do Blade an injustice. Bleed may not be good on minions but in boss encounters it can do a lot of damage. I only just got Capt America last night and he seems to be a better tank than Marvel, but her binary ability makes her a powerhouse. Not sure I have a favourite just yet but am just enjoying the story and discovering the abbey grounds. There are some issues in the game that broken but as they aren't about character builds I will put those aside. Thanks for your guides and being an Aussie.
Captain america is actually one of the best tanks in the game, if not the best as he should be. Blade excels at doing bleed AOE to soften enemies up He fits in so well with other powerhouse damage dealers , if you are using Captain marvel, be careful not to use any of her abilities that will taunt other enemies away from Cap America. I also wouldn’t recommend using Wolverine with Cap as his chain attacks taunt enemies , but rather Spider-Man, Blade, Ghost rider, Scarlet witch, Iron Man,etc
Not really, bleed sucks not only for the reason he mentioned but because the stacking isnt as other games.5 bleeds dont do 5 times the dmg, they just do X dmg for 5 turns.
@@havocgr1976 What havoc said, blade is very underwhelming and he needs a rework on his bleed, he is also fragile. His bleed doesn’t stack ontop of one another I would rather use wolverine or captain marvel who are much more valuable and self-efficient tankers that deal decent damage
Fav hero, Spidey, but fav in this game, probably hunter or ghost rider. Hunter is actually pretty dope and centers the story, I love her\him being there. But I only have 7 or 8 heroes so far. Magik is dope, neko is dope, Dr strange is awesome....it's hard, as a magic player I have to find out once I get further through
No joke. I have her upgraded Restore modded with "Draw a Nico card" and it's ridiculous. Cast on a character with less than 50% health, keep the Restore, draw a Nico card, AND possibly draw another card with her passive "And Another One."
It's really dumb that characters who were actually in the midnight sons, GHOST RIDER SPECIFICALLY, are over shadowed by characters who were brought into the game for what feels like mainstream popularity. Kinda tired of seeing Cap and iron man attached to everything. Bring me some man thing, or better yet all the howling commandos.
I feel that, but seeing as I constantly use Spider-Man and Wolverine it would be hypocritical of me to criticize anyone for just picking the characters they love haha 😂 I do agree that Ghost Rider needs a bit more love, using Ghost Rider with Magik's portals is super cool and not enough people do that combo. Anyways I hope anyone reading has a pleasant day and is enjoying expirementing in Midnight Suns. :)
@@coreymckee4844I'm guessing they want to do a werewolf dlc with elsa and moon knight, but no idea if the game did well enough for them to continue. It is Firaxis though, so, we'll see
i liked that fact honestly like it goes well with the story having the sons be mistrusted by the avengers but then end up proving themselves in the main points of the story showing that they are fully capable and for me in combat ghost rider was one of the best characters
Interestingly, enough Eric Brooks-Cross (Blade) is my go to person for killing bosses and dammit anything else I need to. His bleed is actually very useful if you know what you’re doing. If only wolverine had bleed by default too. Plus his steak attack and life leech mod is something else.
Bleed is very good at higher difficulty because even regular non-minion troops will have too much life to go down to even a combo card. So even if you don't cash in the bleed with reaper, the damage over time is still a great benefit.
I feel like Blade is kinda underwhelming on the harder difficulties because his bleed is sort of lacking and it doesn’t stack ontop of one another. I often swap Blade with Cap marvel or Wolverine or Hulk
Just got this last night. Awesome game TBH. I feel it has just the right combination of stuff, and feels like a proper game that was made just because someone had a vision for it etc. Something like Mass Effect before the meddling. But really, it's the Combat puzzle that draws me into games, and this game has a perfect one. It almost feels like Nintendo game design, how it has some key ideas and then builds upon them. The combat is essentially 3 things, threat management, positioning and deck building/card game. When I found out this game was to be a deck builder, I was worried about it (as had been looking forward to the idea of Marvel X-Com since I first heard about the project) It turned out to be near perfect (for me at least) then the downtime side of it is essentially a modern Fire Emblem game (in terms of the social stuff) but fans of Persona will also feel at home here. What a great, bundle of ideas. Definitely feels like a Nintendo game to me though. This is because it has a few simple ideas that the entire game is built upon. It doesn't appear to be full of unnecessary BS to pad it out. They just went with this 3-pronged idea for the combat, and then boldly chose a life sim as the downtime (rather than base management, etc that is common place in games like this) It just works, though.
For me the best are strange, hunter and iron man the damage that this team can do is stupid. I always one shot bosses with that team. I also like ghost rider a lot
@@norzza hmmm not a ton. I'll usually hit a bigger enemy with a bleed early on and let it tick them down for a little bit. I tend to just use Blade's big damage numbers. Or his chain attacks to get rid of minions or last hit low health enemies
For me Captian Marvel is on the top only second to Spiderman. She was the only character I didn't have any problem soloing with her in the training room. Could clear out an entire wave without even using all my card uses or using environmental attacks.
They’re all pretty even and can be made to work depending on comp… but the one stand out is 1000% Iron Man. He is on a completely different level and I love it cuz he’s my fav lol. Just clearing ultimate difficulties like it’s nothing with him.
💯 agree. Iron man is on another level. Once you unlock his epic cards and get him fully upgraded, he’s able to solo carry missions easily on Ult 3. If Tony has a deck with 2xLeave it to Me upgraded cards, 1xAir Superiority, 2 Quick Blasts (that draw Iron Man cards), 1 precision, 1 surgical strike, and 1 copy of his legendary Midnight Suns ability, he will just keep drawing his own cards and destroy any mission
Is this from worst to best? In that case I wouldn't put Iron Man at the top. His cards are a bit too ego for me. I wouldn't put him on a team for my hardest mission at least. Nico and prob CA or Strange along with Hunter ofc.
Tbh there's not a single character that's bad. Even on the hardest difficulty you'll notice when you have two other heroes down and one left standing, your hand gets with filled with a majority of the surviving hero's cards. I have always been able to solo every encounter with that surviving hero, doesn't matter who it is. 90% of the difficulty is the randomization of the cards you get. When you're guaranteed a set of one heroe's cards it becomes extremely easy.
Blade is hands down the strongest hero and if your team is wiped he can single handedly wipe them out. Also wolverine can get pretty aggressive as well. I'm disappointed in the hulk however
When you talked about Hunter... you should have also mentioned that the ONLY way you gain friendship through combat missions is if Hunter is in the party. :) As for favorite team... Hunter, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man. :)
He made the video before they came out. As far as the price, I bought the legendary on day 1 and it was one of the few games I did that for that I was completely satisfied with.
I absolutely understand why Ghost Rider is so low. But, I run a light side Hunter and when I pair those two with Nico... My God does Robbie eat through enemies mouthfuls at a time.
Nico is my favorite character so far im waiting on storm and im also experiencing the epic hero op crash bug so i cant get nico back yet which sucks hahahaha
I sent 2k support an email with video of it happening hopefully the team gets that bug fixed until then i guess i level everyone else up to level 12as well hahaha
With the legendary edition there is the season pass who will add 4 characters : Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Tornade. But they're not release yet. Plus it add 23 combat skins (but they're only cosmetic).
Not a ton of options for creation.. no sliders of any kind, four face options per gender. As a customize enthusiast I might be alone but I feel pretty spoiled by other superhero games like City of Heroes/Villains and DC having given me options to design my costume from the ground up. I feel like that’s something that should come naturally in any superhero game.
lol, if you know how to use Ghost Rider he is easily one of the most OP character in the game. His Hell Rider can obliterate group of enemies, then you gain soul which increase his max HP. He also have ways to heal himself and hide himself while healing. I always include him on missions which can make them a breeze. With the right party member he is unkillable and wrecks enemies
Iron Man's legendary skill is just a slightly worse version of Ghost Rider's heroic without the downside of discarding your hand and you get all the other great Iron Man cards. Healing is almost never needed outside of the occasional Hunter heal. If you're doing Iron Man right he generally kills the board in 1 turn.
@@PaladinodoCerradooficial My favorite thing about her is the portal mechanic, so I’m trying my best to make that work, maybe I’ll be able to I’m not that far into the game yet.
She is a favorite of mine as well. She is great at controlling the positions the enemy are in. Best moment for me was Venom showing up in a random mission and using Magik to stun lock him till the objective was complete.
Magik is raw as fuck. I had a mission where I used two trap doors to move characters near an explosion and Portaled a third guy into and wiped out the whole battlefield in 3 moves.
Many videos have said Dr. Strange is greaat, but he's the opposite for me, time wasting cards. I prefer Hunter-Blade-Cpt.America because they can deal big damage and heal themselves (protect with Cpt. America) both. Some characters waste too much time building up to something good that often times doesn't happen.

Why is a noob ranking characters ? Magik is like one of the best characters. Your points about her (low damage and nothing left to slam the target into), show FOR SURE you are a noob, sorry, no offense. 1) She actually has high damage, since her Limbo's Grasp ability can be modded with "free" and is upgraded to let her create portals too. It matters a lot. Why ? Because the added damage that ability provides, adds up after each use. Meaning the first time, enemies take 130~ damage on top of the rest for going through a portal, but by the time you finish the map, especially with cards that let you play it without discarding it, you can EASILY add 500-800 damage on top of the rest. We're talking about a FREE card that requires only your "move + shove" (free) to be activated. 2) You can and SHOULD slam targets into your TEAMMATES bro, since you get additional damage AND you DRAW A CARD for doing so. My advice : first master the game, and ONLY THEN, try and rank characters. You look like a damn fool here. Same stuff with Blade (I stopped watching there, sorry, waste of my time) : no support ? Bleeding not that useful ? 1) Blade can apply bleed on MANY targets, meaning he also can apply MARKED on many targets, meaning you can get back card plays on most of the enemies when you play as Blade, very easily, since his "hunger" card is "free". 2) No need to wait for turn based damage with bleed either, since you have an ability that consumes all bleed stacks at once, making him one of the best single target damage dealer because of that and his passive, you can easily stack 10-15 bleeds, then burn them all at once on a boss for massive 2K damage. Work on your builds.
I only have the original 8 so far, but my least favorite is Captain Marvel. Aside from Photon Beam, all of her early cards are terrible and hardly do any damage. Her quick abilities are rares, and her reliance of playing 3 bad cards just to unlock her binary ability only for her to most likely lose it after one attack is just pointless.
@@stuckNcloudz I'm not playing her wrong. Her early cards are just garbage, and being forced to use 3 just to get binary is dumb. Maybe when she's higher level and has higher rarity cards, she's better, but early game, she sucks.
@Scrobacca she has a card that draws 3-4 cards if you don't have any. Plus she has quick jab which doesn't cost a turn if you use it on minions. Those two alone put you at 1 card play away from binary and 2 card plays left to use. All of this was strategy I was able to use pretty much right away with Capt. Marvel. I certainly understand if she doesn't work for your play style. I just love how much of a powerhouse she has been on my team

I would rank Magik higher. You are not supposed to place a portal without having a means to use it that turn because they move when they attack. So I didn’t understand that, just keep it in your hand till next turn
Yep and half the items on the map don't disappear.
But every enemy can be knocked into something in almost any position. I don’t see why we need that portal.
I couldn't agree more! I also think since making this list I was little harsh on Ghost Rider, he is pretty damn good.
Blade is better then you mentioned with Bleed because he can turn the Bleed stacks into health, healing himself.
What i Love about Magic is to create Portals and shove enemies in Hellfirepits or in an abyss.
I just started playing this game. God bless Black Friday sales. Kind of digging it.
This video is really helpful.
I disagree with some of these pretty strongly but at least we agree ironman is insane. Aside from the hunter he's the one that's turned around the most missions for me as the last man standing.
Scarlet witch with an upgraded detonation is really freakin helpful
Use Unleashed then Detonate and it's the second best card in the game behind Hulk's Worldbreaker.
This is how I feel as well. I almost never take the same team on back-to-back missions
Ghost rider has some of the coolest looking abilities
Bro my ghost rider is auctually broken. I just don’t use hellmouth at all
the little bit i have played (~level 11 and just got cap america), it took a while to get some running, but i love Magik.
Blade excels at doing bleed AOE to soften enemies up
He fits in so well with other powerhouse damage dealers , if you are using Captain marvel, be careful not to use any of her abilities that will taunt other enemies away from Cap America.
His bleed doesn’t stack ontop of one another
I would rather use wolverine or captain marvel who are much more valuable and self-efficient tankers that deal decent damage
@@Tommygun23455Blades lifesteal and block on card reddraws make him pretty hard to take down
Fav hero, Spidey, but fav in this game, probably hunter or ghost rider. Hunter is actually pretty dope and centers the story, I love her\him being there. But I only have 7 or 8 heroes so far. Magik is dope, neko is dope, Dr strange is awesome....it's hard, as a magic player I have to find out once I get further through
My favourite is Wanda Maximoff - The Scarlet Witch ❤
Nico is low key a beast
For sure, she can be so deadly!
No joke. I have her upgraded Restore modded with "Draw a Nico card" and it's ridiculous. Cast on a character with less than 50% health, keep the Restore, draw a Nico card, AND possibly draw another card with her passive "And Another One."
If you get lucky, you draw the max dmg on that card of hers that continues after KOs she wrecks.
Ghost rider was pretty centered in the story and the other midnight suns. Didn't feel like they were overshined.
I feel that, but seeing as I constantly use Spider-Man and Wolverine it would be hypocritical of me to criticize anyone for just picking the characters they love haha 😂
I do agree that Ghost Rider needs a bit more love, using Ghost Rider with Magik's portals is super cool and not enough people do that combo.
Anyways I hope anyone reading has a pleasant day and is enjoying expirementing in Midnight Suns. :)
I wanted elsa bloodstone and moon knight. But nooo.. deadpool..🙄🙄
Dr Strange is so good.
Interestingly, enough Eric Brooks-Cross (Blade) is my go to person for killing bosses and dammit anything else I need to. His bleed is actually very useful if you know what you’re doing. If only wolverine had bleed by default too. Plus his steak attack and life leech mod is something else.
strange that the 6 razor sharp adamantium claws don't do bleed :))
Ay was looking for this video, thank you!
Your welcome! Whose your favourite hero?
They just went with this 3-pronged idea for the combat, and then boldly chose a life sim as the downtime (rather than base management, etc that is common place in games like this)
It just works, though.
New Sub. Been appreciating your Mid Night 🌞 content..
Thanks mate!
I like to balance it out.
Heavy hitter/ tank
Quick Attack/ High damage.
And support
For me the best are strange, hunter and iron man the damage that this team can do is stupid. I always one shot bosses with that team. I also like ghost rider a lot
But honestly every hero is good. I totally agree 💯
Love Magik darkchild ability, especialy when she got counter
Blade is my favorite character to use. I also love Wolverine
Great options! Do you use Blades bleed mechanics much?
@@norzza hmmm not a ton. I'll usually hit a bigger enemy with a bleed early on and let it tick them down for a little bit. I tend to just use Blade's big damage numbers. Or his chain attacks to get rid of minions or last hit low health enemies
Deadpool and Morbius aren't in this video
Any plans on doing an updated video since the new DLCs came out? :)
For me Captian Marvel is on the top only second to Spiderman. She was the only character I didn't have any problem soloing with her in the training room. Could clear out an entire wave without even using all my card uses or using environmental attacks.
Captain Marvel is a goddamn freight train. Her+Light Side Hunter+Cap or Strange is filthy.
Blade seems nasty from my experience thus far
Another game that went under my radar.
Hunter its so OP. I made a Paladin, he heal and have good damage, perfect to help GhostRider
Perfect combo for ghost rider!
Same here. Hunter,GhostRider, Dr.Strange/Magik/Nico/wolverine, great team chemistry 👏.
Best is using Nico's Blood Magic to give GR's attacks lifesteal so he just recovers whatever he takes.
I knew I was struggling with Ghost Rider
Is this from worst to best? In that case I wouldn't put Iron Man at the top. His cards are a bit too ego for me. I wouldn't put him on a team for my hardest mission at least. Nico and prob CA or Strange along with Hunter ofc.
Yep, worst to best after Hunter. Nico/Strange, CA and Hunter is a good combo. Good support options plus some hard hitting damage 👍
Favorite of all time: Wolverine. Hands Down. As far as the game, probably next would be Ghost Rider and Iron Man.
Blade is goat status
Blade is hands down the strongest hero and if your team is wiped he can single handedly wipe them out. Also wolverine can get pretty aggressive as well. I'm disappointed in the hulk however
Magik , cap and iron man are my top favourite
When you talked about Hunter... you should have also mentioned that the ONLY way you gain friendship through combat missions is if Hunter is in the party. :)
As for favorite team... Hunter, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man. :)
I can't use Captain Marvel without a Tank to soak up damage because I'm always losing her binary.
My top 5 are ghost rider, Nico, hulk , wolverine, and spiderman
How everyone forgetting about worldbreaker from hulk.
He litteraly wipe the map for 6 heroism
You don't have the DLCs
Dlc is to expensive. For this money you can buy another game
He made the video before they came out. As far as the price, I bought the legendary on day 1 and it was one of the few games I did that for that I was completely satisfied with.
Hunter, captain America, ghost rider.. Unstoppable
Magik it top tier keep spamming portal damage increase shes carried my team on hardest difficulty being the last hero alive
I absolutely understand why Ghost Rider is so low.
But, I run a light side Hunter and when I pair those two with Nico... My God does Robbie eat through enemies mouthfuls at a time.
Is there a bad one? That’s what is cool about the game. Ghost rider, Blade, Wolverine and Spider-Man are my favorites
Not really. As I said in the video, each hero has their own strength and weaknesses.
Nico is my favorite character so far im waiting on storm and im also experiencing the epic hero op crash bug so i cant get nico back yet which sucks hahahaha
Happened to me yesterday. Wolverine.. he was my favorite
I sent 2k support an email with video of it happening hopefully the team gets that bug fixed until then i guess i level everyone else up to level 12as well hahaha
Uh oh what's the bug? I'm only a few hours into the game. Any way to avoid it?
Im still early, but Ive already stopped using Ghost Rider.
Same
I did a similar thing, started using him more later game. He has some strong abilities but there are better options.
My favo is magik! She is always in my team
and which are the premium characters of the videogame with the legendary edition ?
None, they're all available through the main story
With the legendary edition there is the season pass who will add 4 characters : Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Tornade. But they're not release yet. Plus it add 23 combat skins (but they're only cosmetic).
A better video would probably be what heroes work best as a team. Ghost Riders cons are almost erased if he's with Captain America fir example
I'm thinking about a video like this. Just not sure yet how to frame it 😀
@@norzza eh, just "which heroes have the best synergy". Wanda/Magik, Ghost Rider/Cap, etc
Almost all gameplay I’ve seen so far have used the same face, hair and facial hair for the hunter. What’s up with that?
Not a ton of options for creation.. no sliders of any kind, four face options per gender. As a customize enthusiast I might be alone but I feel pretty spoiled by other superhero games like City of Heroes/Villains and DC having given me options to design my costume from the ground up. I feel like that’s something that should come naturally in any superhero game.
Can you post some of your gameplay?
I personally think early game captain marvel is really good
My tank would literally be the opposite of your ladder lol
lol, if you know how to use Ghost Rider he is easily one of the most OP character in the game.
Spidey, iron man and wolverine 🙏🏼
The normal difficulty is kind of hard, actually.
Magik is my favorite to use, which really sucks cause her damage is very lackluster
She is the best to Cc enemys and put they close to AOE attacks, I love her.
I love using Magik for crowd control to set up combos or environmental attacks.
Ghost Rider is 👌
I think you still need to learn some of these hero’s … 😂
Cool
So what's their rank??
Their in order from worst to best 👍
@@norzza ah I miss that part where you said about starting from the bottom. Thanks. Damn I can't believe Ghost Riser is the worst. I assumed that he would be one of the top due to his damage output. Great video tho. Very informative
"DPS" stands for Damage Per Second. Please explain how this applies to a turn-based game.
More damage in 1 turn, basically
Ranked? Where?
Their in order from worst to best.
Hunter Nico
+ Anyone else
So where is the Rank?
13 is not a lot of characters.
The not having something to hit after the portal means you suck at playing the game.
i disagree lol
How would you rank them?
Spiderman is one of the weakest IMO. I hate having to take him on missions with everyone else doing more damage and controlling the battlefield. Unless he gets significantly better towards the end of the game, I loath taking him.
I feel Cap is the strongest tank(I'm still missing a few Wolv/Hulk/Scarlet). I really do enjoy all the characters, but have been very disappointed in Spiderman.
What? Spider-Man is awesome. Just TWHIP!+ with Opportunist is an incredible combination.
Just look at the last videos of my channel, he is shining in them (and it's Ultimate III difficulty).
@@Lyudo31 Pretty much never used SM unless I had to. My go to combo was Hulk, Hunter and/or Cap, Scarlet, Dr. S. Finished the game pretty easily on what the highest Ult difficultly was. I just dont get the love for SM and he's one of my favorite marvel characters. I also thought Wolverine was a little underpowered. His legendary ability was really good though.
@@Ev0L5 Well, I have a total different opinion. SM is the powerhouse of my team. He is so good. Someone said in the comment that the best thing about this game is that everyone has a different opinion on which characters are the best. I guess they are right!
@@Lyudo31 True that! The game surprised me...I really didnt think I was going to love it as much and I did.
This kinda similar to marval strike force if it adds clans and pvp and and raids also a lot of characters and villains like marvel strike force this game can be really good
Can you sound any more bogen
Absolutely 💯 agree. Magik is #1. If used even half decently she pairs well with literally every other hero.
If you put counter on her and get her in binary mode and taunt them, I promise you will see some results
You may be playing her wrong. Captain Marvel is by far my strongest character and I can do most missions barely using anyone else's cards.
@@stuckNcloudz She doesn't start with quick jabs. It took me 6 missions with her until I finally RNG'd one.
Click bait title. Great video for getting to know all the heroes. But shitty click bait title. I actually wanted a ranking.
Though the ranking was worst to best
He literally said we are gonna start at the bottom with GR 🤷🏽♂️
Sorry for the confusion. Their ranked in order from worst to best, as I said in the video.
@@norzzathere wasn’t any confusion - you very clearly stated that’s how you were ranking them.
Hhhhuuuuullllllllllkkkkkkkkk
