I sell DVD's and bluerays, but I buy them in bulk and part it out. Realistically you only get a couple bucks per movie, but I use them as filler or if I have something else I need to do and need to get my listings in. I can pop 10-50 out in 20 minutes. I also rip the used movies and add them to my plex server so not only do I get that money, but my movie Library rivals Netflix
One thing that helps me the most on movie sales is I have a 3rd party program that I can set to delist and relist my items after they get past a certain age. You will be suprised the ROI on movies. Like you said with your example, thats a 3-600% profit! Its just not that impressive from a price perspective becuase you started at $2.
I definitely agree that the glory days of bulk buys on market place are more or less dead unless you can get a really good deal (with some pre-comps) AND it’s not taking up time that you would otherwise spend sourcing higher value/STR items. I do still sell single movie and single tv series but sourcing more so on an individual basis via thrifting/flea markets - whereby I’m hand selecting based on $20+ sell price and high sell through rate. Shifting focus heavily on sell through rate and then leveraging the STR information into my price considerations has been a HUGE needle mover for me for sure. Curious to know why you don’t send untracked letters on dvd orders under $30, you can even get away with 2 dvds in a large untracked envelope for $4.50 if under 250g of course 🤫, or $7.50 for between 250-500g. I haven’t had an INR on untracked letters for over a year! The 2 dvd untracked option changes the look of a $20 sale. I was terrified to make the change to untracked but so glad I did it. It also gives you the option to hand deliver an order if the address is local which adds to profitability (more so for me because I have a company vehicle from my FT job! hehe).

So many bulk lots of dvd’s on FB now too, since the Auspost price rises. Lots of sellers have come to the same conclusion and are off loading their stock.

yeah dvds is nickel & diming always has been except for the few exceptions, not worth the time.Cameras is the best one as you find alot and usually cheap as and cheap fees, I think 7.3%

i make money making videos on youtube. selling on ebay isn't my only source of income. Courtney also just works for me. The hours I pay her aren't her only wage either. Hope this provides clarity
@TheAussieFlipper I did some calculations of the possible income that you might make from TH-cam. With 5k daily views, you make between $50-$500 per month. Maybe you have other TH-cam channels, but with this one, I don't believe you can make a living out of it. Also, you preach to other people on how they can grow their sales. Perhaps it would be more convincing if you lead by example?
@TheAussieFlipper I understand, but there are so many "Ebay gurus" out there who, instead of inspiring new sellers, have the opposite effect on them. Giving false hopes is the same as giving no hope at all. Thousands see your videos, some of them might get the wrong impression and take rushed decisions, like quitting their jobs to resell on Ebay, for example. I have followed many of these "gurus" for years. In conclusion, they want one of these: a. to sell a course, b. to sell a tool, c. to get monetisation from TH-cam. They don't care about the new resellers out there. I hope you are not that kind of guy, but seeing the numbers, it doesn't look good.

Do what I said and make mystery boxes filled with DVD's. Charge $25 posted for 5 mystery DVD's under themes...an action box of 5 films...a horror one...a rom com etc. Trust me they will fly out the sheeves
We’ve been down a bit the last couple of weeks, but haven’t changed our listing schedule. A bit worrying. We are upping our item quality and going thru old stock to try and get things moving again. We have to keep adapting to the market to keep afloat.
@@DocReasonable Not always. When Kath & Kim disappeared off Netflix earlier this year, it went nuts on Ebay. Yes, you could pay $52 for all 4 seasons on iTunes, but lots of ppl obviously preferred it on DVD. I don't bother selling TV series unless I have the full set.
