I stayed there for a week in 77 working for trinity house inspector of works. Harwich doing some maintenance . we flew there by helicopter. bristols flew us there if I remember rightly
I visited that In 1986 with the _Trinitas_, a Lochin 33 twin that the Newhaven Harbour Master used. We were taking a bloke out to it. It was pretty heavy seas (to 12yr old me...) and seemed a long, Long way away.
Off of Eastbourne. I've just come back from a few days stay in Eastbourne and asked the landlord of the b&b I was staying in if he knew what the structure was. From the seafront all you can see is a cross like shape. Now watching videos to see it up close
Great video, thanks.
I was onboard the accommodation when it was floated out to be placed on top of the column.

Gosh, from Newhaven that would have been quite the distance, nearly 20miles. Even with calm waters from Eastbourne I didn't have very good sea-legs!
I'm pretty much sure that that wooden walkway went the whole way around the lighthouse at some stage.
Almost like the flat iron.
Where is this lighthouse located?
Off of Eastbourne.
