Wow that deserves a rider with a party in the back mullet, a 1980's truck and Van Halen playing through house speakers behind the seats. This really took me back, Im a first time viewer here and you have my full attention already. I would cough up a wad of cash to get something so well built. well done.
Thanks for the kind words Robert. Be sure to check out all of our Videos, we have lots of Vintage. Please reach out to me @ the shop if I can help with anything.
Wow, what a beautiful ski you built. I have a 1994 550 sx wish you were in California would love to have you work on my 550. Love all the videos keep up the good work.👍
Man this is the best channel out there for jet skis I can’t ever find any videos of these old restoration and I have a 89 650sxand had now idea how trick guys would go for like 5 to 10 more hourpower and how the enivation comes from the is not much on the you tube about this old skis and us young guys.I’m a fist jenration ski rider so it’s been hell trying to keep this thing going on a budget pluse trying to find any wire Diagrams or engine tolerances and torque specs pluse any after market parts or boring and porting
Thanks for watching, and the kind words. Search for a shop manual for your Ski. Clymer made one, and you should be able to find it. It will have all the specs you need for maintenance and repairs.
I mean it looks nice and all and I about lost it when he talked about the Chris Fischetti rear sponsons. The only one in the Pro Field at the time that needed those. LOL
Hello, very interesting video. I have 2 Mikuni 38 carbs on my Kawa jet ski. I changed nozzles and gaskets, cleaned everything.... I put transparent hoses to see the fuel. Problem after filling the hoses with a syringe, the engine runs but the gasoline does not arrive (see the little that remains tends to go back to the tank (no suction to the carbs)? I connected the fuel correctly carburetor according to the plan (intake, return, low engine pump)? I tested the pressure for opening nozzle 19 psi THANKS A LOT
Beautiful ski!! Great video sharing it with you. I live in ok and I have 35cc domes on my 62t 760 in my blaster 1. I am at 165psi per cylinder. Is 91 octane Ok for that compression and my location. I have been running 110 because it seemed to ping at wot so I switched to 110 and it went away. I have a orilleys comp gauge so it's nothing fancy amd maybe off idk. I just know as soon as I switched from 91 to 110 the sound the engine made is gone. I have tried 4gal of 110 and 1gal of 91 and it qas fine as well
Thanks for watching and the comment. Detonation can occur from different reasons. Compression ratio is only part of the equation. Load on the engine (Impeller type/pitch) fuel/jetting, pipe, ignition timing, location where you ride/elevation and so on can ALL make a difference. Your compression gauge may not be accurate. If you have detonation you NEED to run correct octane for your build. That and make sure you do not have a lean condition.
@@watercrafttalk2738 so I did replace my coil with a msd because of some issues I was having. I started running 110 before I replaced that I also am running to high of a pitch impeller and will be purchasing a impeller from you all as soon as I get some money saved found out my duel 44 set up was actually from a 650 and a 701 so there is that lol. I have new carbs on order and will be purchasing a impeller as well. I didn't know all those factors would cause detonation. Thanks for your response.
@@jeffbryner5355 Yes, too tall of a pitch on your impeller creates too much load on your engine, and can cause detonation. Feel free to reach out to me at my shop, I would be happy to help with impeller, carbs, jetting, etc to get your set up better tuned in.
@@watercrafttalk2738 awesome. I will be I'm contact with you all as soon as get some money saved up. Thanks so much for your time. It's hard to find good customer service anymore haha
Hi John, may I ask why you capped off the original pisser nipple and did a T fitting off the pipe with a new pisser location? What benefits does that have, I have the same pipe on my 550sx but using original pisser nipple. Thanks
Hello Victor, thanks for watching. We find by adding a by pass in the line to the pipe stinger, it helps to dry the exhaust out better than the small original "tell tale". We sometimes will run both, BUT you have to be careful depending on how your cooling is set up, and water temps were you ride as pipe temps will rise.
What a nice job…great attention to detail.
Thank you.
I really dig all the build breakdown videos. Please keep em coming
Thanks for watching. Please stay tuned, and subscribe, We have LOTS more build videos coming up....

Could be you have internal blockage, bad gaskets, diaphragms, check valves, etc. Sorry hard for me to tell for sure.

All seals and nozzles are new. No check valve.

Pro watercraft, and the Fish's 55 Zeros are really the same. Fish is the one who originally came up with these.

Is there a site that sells the piece of metal his handle pole spring sits on/ what's it called?
There was many back in the day, I am unsure of anything currently. I'd call it a Pole Spring plate....
