I’m always impressed with Lucy’s covers. She pours her heart and soul into it (effort / practice). She’s so talented too. She really puts everything into each song (she emulates the emotions of the song in her voice and in her face). I literally cant think of a better singer.

Juliet, I may be repeating but Lucy's vibrato just kills me. I watched this again and her vibrato really stands out. Then on that final long hold, her pitch is held perfectly and then the superb vibrato on top, the water works get turned on (again). Lucy almost always brings me to tears. And I do the same as you, waiting for that smile at the end. Some have questioned the motive behind that smile, but IMHO it's just her joy in singing showing through.

🙂 Great reaction. Lucy just keeps adding to her already impressively large palette of vocal techniques. With each new release, there's always something new to admire. For many people, this is the ultimate classic love song and Lucy has certainly done it justice. She's up there alongside Bobby Hatfield.

When Lucy sings this song you can feel everything ,The longing ,The Anguish You can even hear the cries in her voice .But you explain that better than I can .I always look forward to your reactions to Lucy as you know what you are talking about. I’ve listened to Lucy’s version of Unchained Melody about 50 times now! I was around when Bobby Hatfield sang it too. He did a fantastic job, however , Lucy brought it up another notch. I hope none of my male friends read this, but Lucy brings tears to my eyes,. What a voice!!

Hi there Juliet. Hope you are doing well. I really enjoyed your reactions to this new video of The Outstanding Lucy Thomas. I always learn so much from you about the music and the singer's performance. I also noticed the extra hand gestures and it did make the difference in the performance it gave more emotions to the performance. Did you notice that at the every end that Lucy ran out of breath on that last note. She took a quick breath just before that beautiful smile. I had missed her adding her ending smile. I want her to sing "You Light Up My Life". On this song, three notes in and I knew Lucy was singing the new standard against which all covers would now be compared. I now think this may be the best vocal performance ever, by anyone. Who had a better one?
Well done Juliet, we rely on your informative analysis of this exceptional young singer. There's not a lot of young female singers around these days that you could call classy. Lucy is a prime example of a class act -- just look at her!!. And the voice - at just twenty years old, where will this extraordinary instrument be in just five years, let alone ten years time?. When you go back to her concert performances -- it would be interesting to see your reaction to. "AT LAST" lt is phenomenal, with that smokey vibe. What a contrast to, and at the other end of the scale to "PIE JESU"

Lucy’s voice is like going back home - taking a shower beneath the waterfalls at the seven sacred pools on Maui … she cools my head and warms my heart. Highest complement I know how to give❤ oh, I need to note that you, Juliet - when you hit that high G in your reaction was a pleasant delight , I’m so very impressed! Lucy Thomas. World class!
Lucy's voice has such a warm and emotional sound. Always a pleasant to listen to. Yes that last note went on "forever and ever"and I had the impression for one time Lucy ran almost out of air at the end of it (well over 12 seconds long that note was... so very impressive anyway!!). Lucy and young Emma Kok from the Netherlands (she is 16) should have a fun competition "who has the longest breath". I think it could be a very, very close call.... Recently Emma, who is very small for her age due to a disease, did release a song in which she had not one, but two long notes (13 and 14 seconds each...). And by the look of it she was not out of breath at the end. Juliette knows about which song I am talking as Emma is succeeding in conveying the emotions of the songs she performs to everybody, including reactors who most of the time are not getting overwhelmed.....

It doesn't make any difference what she sings, it is always a masterpiece. One of the many things I enjoy about Lucy's voice is her clarity. Juliet, I've been anxiously waiting for you on this one. You pointed out some interesting things. Her body language has that hand gesture you mentioned as-well-as doing a dip/stretch of her body to add emphasis. I also noticed several time she brought her hand(s) to her chest adding herself to the meaning of the song. Her voice is silky smooth here. To me the flips (octave?) add a bit of ornamentation to the sound. Plus, of course, her stretching notes and excellent vibrato (adding extension) contribute to the flow and smoothness of this piece. Lastly, her Lucy-ism (head bounce) is here too.

Over two years since I first came across her videos on a TH-cam random recommendation and I am still fascinated by her voice, technique and professionalism. I think she could have been a really great opera singer if that had ever been her interest. I find myself thinking of songs I would like to hear her do Amazing Grace ala Judy Collins Where Do I Begin from Love Story are just two of so many, and if she went back and re recorded some of her previous songs even more.

Nice to see you react to this important cover by Lucy. I know you have reacted positively to many of her other covers, and a couple of her own songs. She's Pitch Perfect here with the full range and no straining whatsoever.......simply gorgeous and good for the soul. I think she turned 20 in February and Angelina turned 18 in January this year. What a pair of phenoms, Huh? I love them both and have been following each for at least 5 yrs now. I've seen every cover and all songs from both also. I watch many, many reactions because now we have TH-cam......and I'm 69 now. But there is no age in music......it can live forever.

I would like to hear Lucy sing Adele's 'Easy On Me' and maybe for something different and fun Peter Allen's 'Everything Old'. There was a TikTok clip I saw where Lucy sang a little of 'Easy On Me' so I thought she would go on to cover it but she hasn't yet. Maybe the song doesn't suit her style. I don't know if you ever do comparison reactions Juliet but I would love to see you compare Adele, Aina Abdul and Eltasya Natasha's versions of 'Easy On Me' one day.
