- Donald Trump has signed an executive order withdrawing the US from the UN Human Rights Council and continue the halt of funding for the UN's relief agency for Gaza.
The actions reinstate policies in place during the president's first administration.
They come on the day that President Trump is due to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Shortly afterwards, he signed a memorandum on Iran, saying Tehran was "too close" to a nuclear weapon.
Trump said he would hold talks with his counterpart in Tehran, but warned he's left "instructions" that if Iran assassinated him, the US foe "would be obliterated".

As a Brit, I want the UN and NATO to be strong organisations but agree that countries take the states for granted, especially NATO, UK meets it's funding obligations but so many EU countries don't, that benefits them economically but they expect that support without putting in their fair share. We all need to stand up and meet our obligations, if we don't do that we can't complain.
UN needs to reconfigure away from it's post WW2 veto because with that existing it is redundant, an aggressor being able to veto criticism of it's clear aggression or that of an ally is insane. We can have no equity in global law, structure if there is not equity in the voting structure. No more veto.
UN wants to give everyone an equal vote but the United States is pretty much 50 countries merged into one. Either let States join the UN separately or have the US pay a 1/50th portion of their contribution.

USA funds 28% of the UN fund the rest is funded by other countries across the world. As it states on the United Nations page “United Nations is the brainchild of United States so it comes as no surprise they are responsible for contributing a large chunk of the budget to the United Nations” but I guess these facts are hidden when u need to convince people u have been swindled into paying something against your will.
@kimmccracken9356 thats not quite right. US contributes roughly 27%, with China on 15% and others such as the UK (just under 6%) are in there too. Given the US GDP outstrips all of the others I don't see this as being particularly unfair.

considering USA plays a ‘leading” role in the United Nations and reaps the rewards of what their higher contribution to the UN budget enables them to achieve on the world stage. It’s a small price to pay for all the ways USA benefits. Although USA contributes 27% of the UN budget (they definitely do not fund it alone) that only makes up 0.2% of the overall federal budget. Comparing that to the Uk, their contribution to the United nations makes up 0.5% (reduced from 0.7% due to Covid) of their overall government spending. So although USA contributes a higher financial number in comparison to some far smaller countries they give an overall lower percentage of their government funding towards foreign aid. People seem to forget that foreign aid as well as many other world organisations are a big game of chess being played by the countries of the world and the more time, money, soldiers ect.. u invest the better moves u get to play on the world chess board and that’s what the leaders of our countries are doing each day, trying to keep our chess pieces in play. Some do a better job than others.

My guy, NONE of the international courts or authorities, on earth, have ever had any jurisdiction over the USA. All the Human Rights protections American Citizens have ever had are still established, endowed by The Creator, and reaffirmed via our Constitution. We don’t submit or adhere to international kangaroo courts or “law” because it lacks the ability to enforce laws or hold court. This was established decades ago, primarily because the international courts violate American’s Constitutional Right to “ a speedy trial by a jury of our peers” - none of which these international courts, nor the UN, allow for anyone. Secondly, the Constitution is the Law of the land and the Supreme Court is the highest court on Earth, therefore, we don’t (and never have) recognized their legitimacy. Trump just cut the hypocrisy and ineffectual grift on taxpayers money, but we never submitted to them or recognized them as legit. Lastly, these activists/judges arbitrarily condemned people without any burden of proof, also violating the Constitution; hence, these international organizations always being rendered useless in the USA Governments eyes, unless it felt like extracted a little bit more of American wealth to foreign nations, also known as Wealth Redistribution.
