OMG 11 years, just like me!!! Very big move but kudos to you for doing what’s best for you 🫶🏾 #loveit . I know exactly how you feel & that’s pretty much why I relaxed my hair too. I workout a lot so wash days are now a breeze & I can do sleek styles quickly + the last 😩😮💨🙌🏾🩷
I just relaxed my hair after 9 years being natural. Alot of work it was. A long hard decision to make. My gf reminded me of the "cancer scare" a couple years ago using relaxers. O well. Im happy😊
Im about to relax my hair again after I don't even know how many years lol so im just binging videos. Im just mad at myself for not thinking to do it sooner cause this natural way is just not for me 😭
lololol that was literally me right after doing it! Like what was holding back/ what took me so long?! But honestly, do it whenever YOU’RE ready and do it for YOU too. You’re beautiful regardless of whatever state your hair is in 🩵
Go forth and be beautiful! That's what counts!! I'm natural now, and I really love my hair. I haven't straightened it in at least 4 years and I think I'll wait to straighten it until I get that RevAir hair dryer so I don't lose my curls. I will say that my hair was becoming abnormally thin from relaxers. And it was too expensive (for ne), AND too hard to keep up with a professional hairdresser to keep it relaxed. When i first went natural, I HATED my hair. It was so short and those "wash 'n go's" have NEVER looked good on me. But i have found many hairstyles that i love now and my hair has grown pretty long (AFTER I learned how to take care of it and that took about 3.5 years of my "journey"). But now? I just LOVE my curls and twists and thickness. I no longer have a balding area in the middle of my head. And you can no longer look through my hair either. Between the relaxers and the medication I have to take, my hair was a hot mess because i never learned how to do my hair. I would simply put it in a ponytail and go. I thought it wouldn't grow since i was over 50, but it has. But I think your hair will stay beautiful because you know how to take care of your hair, and you're willing to do what you need to do. Stay beautiful and happy!! ❤❤
It’s better to have someone apply the relaxer on your hair to avoid burns. If you continue to irritate the scalp you are going to damage your hair follicles and stands. Nothing wrong with applying relaxer but take care of your scalp in the procress
Relaxed or natural folks have to do what is best for them depending on where they are in life. I have been natural x 2. This most recent time I am at 9 year mark and doubt I will go back. Stylist are just hard to find that are competent and reliable. I don't know enough to feel safe relaxing my own hair. Additionally, I usually found that the damage for me from relaxers came slowly after each retouch. My hair was thinning. So I am team natural for now. But do you!
Absolutely!!! The journey we have with our hair fluid & personal. And I love that we have the option to dabble on both sides of the fence (natural / relaxed).
It’s nothing wrong with relax hair it better to manage.. I’m a natural I haven’t had a relaxer in about 5 years …but you will be fine just clip your ends in keep your hair in protected hair styles
I just texturized my hair over this past weekend, after being natural for 9yrs!!! I’m sooo glad to be back on the “creamy crack” y’all🤣🙃🤪Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my natural hair care journey, but over the years , it was just becoming more of a chore/hassle for me honestly😫🤦🏽♀️The only “regret” I have is that I should’ve done this sooner lol🙂↔️ *Side note: I almost bought that same brand of relaxer on Saturday, but went with Motions regular strength no-lye instead🙂
Omg! Congratulations, Gorgeous 🥳🥂😂🫶🏾! You’re not alone at all, I ran back to the creamy crack for the exact same reason. At the end of the day, it’s your hair & you can do whatever you want to it 🩵. I came across the Motions relaxer while searching for the one I used and it had really good reviews, plus the brand has great products for after care.
Thank you girl & same to you too👏🏽🙌🏽Your results came out lovely btw 🤗Welp! Back to the crack I go I suppose lolol as it’s just easier for me to manage my hair, when it’s in a relaxed state. Unfortunately, I became really neglectful with my hair over the past few years, when it was in its natural state & that was 100% my fault🤦🏽♀️💯but, who knows? Maybe one day, I’ll go back to au naturale perhaps? Time will tell….Great vid👍🏽👍🏽
Suggest that you let someone assist you with putting in the relaxer at the back going forward to avoid overlap. Also try to put it in quickly, 13 minutes from application to washing out. You are spending too much time applying and manipulating the same area and that is why one side of your hair has processed more than the other.
Noted but my application process wasn’t that long plus it was a touch up so once I finished talking, I wrapped up the other sections & washed it up. Also I’m not doing this to my hair that often… it’s now the end of September and I still haven’t touched up (video was made in April)
Hi Shaunta! nice to e-meet you 🫶🏾 two products that I found to help my hair grow are the kaleidoscope miracle drops & the virgin hair fertilizer oil. 🩷
ooo I just relaxed my hair two days ago and honestly we have the same points! been through all the different phases of my hair and it’ll growww. also, I really like your personality! felt like I was on a FaceTime call 🫶🏾
Whew... i just relaxed Sept 22nd after 11 years of being natural. Best decision for me, i just do not have the time anymore 🙃 ❤

Omg! Yaaaay!! Im so glad it turned out amazinggg 🩵
I felt the “that GLUUEE?” because it’s so inconvenient after a while. Especially as an active girlie fr.
Literally!!!! And I sweat so much!!! It was impossible to keep the wig on while exercising

Tysm 🥹💗! Yes, you definitely have the option to just grow your hair out & be natural again 🥳✨.

@asheriixo976 good for you being able to stretch that long. I start to experience breakage after 10 weeks max, so that is my limit.
