Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy watching your videos. Your perspective on the Empire Builder is second to none and I thank you for sharing your trip.
Great video. I was going to ask if this was former NP, GN, or SP&S right of way. It's nicely engineered and maintained trackage.... Well, looked it up and the bridges, as well as the line, were originally Spokane, Portland, and Seattle's, but GN and NP owned that railroad jointly. SP&S joined CB&Q, GN, and NP to form Burlington Northern in 1970.
The Station is unique as its one of the few in the country that is on a Wye track. :42 the track going straight is for the Coast Starlight going toward LA.
Probably because they don't want people wandering around as everyone else is getting ready to get off! And, on Superliners, the bathrooms are downstairs, where the doors are, and they don't want to have someone trying to go back up the stairs while everyone else is coming down the stairs to get off the car! 😮😮😮
I've made this trip several times on the Coast Starlight as well as on the Cascades. You captured it beautifully. Thanks for sharing this with us.

My pleasure, David. I've made this trip twice in past two years because doing it only once was not enough to take it all in.
David Deutsch I like these train videos
@@MDLsRailViews nice video i also sub to you. by the way it was 4 bridge crossings
Made this same trip in late June. Gotta love that the Portland sleeper is the last car and this can be done.👍🏾 Good job.

I wished that they had an Amtrak Train That went to Astoria and Long Beach Peninsula.
Terrific video -- thanks!

Castlegar BC is another, now moved off-line.
I wished they built a triple track mainline to Astoria and Clatskaine Oregon.
How come on Amtrak trains during the trip to the final stop, you must remain seated, and are not allowed to use the bathroom during that time?
