Marvel Legends | Emma Frost (Ch'od Wave) | Action Figure Review

- We're taking a look at the Marvel Legends Emma Frost action figure by Hasbro in this video. Its the 2023 Ch'od "build-a-figure" edition of the character.
In this vid I will unbox the Emma Frost figure, discuss my impressions of the action figure experience, and run down the facts. (Such as her aesthetic, articulation, and accessories.) It's a thorough review, with all the pro's and con's as I see them discussed.
A quick glance at the channel's reviews will tell you that, when it comes to Marvel Legends, I almost exclusively collect X-Men related figures. I love getting one of my most beloved franchises in action figure form, and as a lover of the Joss Whedon/John Cassaday Astonishing X-Men series I was buzzed to see that interpretation of Emma Frost in 3D plastic coming to the latest wave. She's a great character, who I don't own as an action figure (until now), and has a really interesting, unique look inspired by the John Cassaday interpretation of Emma. That's a lot of ticks in the box for me, hopefully she lives up to expectations now she's arrived. Watch to find out.

I’m a huge Emma Frost fan although I also like that 4 pack set. But I like this one better
I don’t own the 4 pack set, so I was glad this one came along. I know she’s polarised the community but I agree with you, I’m into this one. I just wish she could independently stand better!
Great review, glad to know you are a knowledgeable John Cassaday fan. But if you squint your eyes a bit, you could see a Christina Aguilera likeness to Emma's portrait. Just sharing an opinion, no issues if you don't see it.

Stunning looking figure and I can see what you mean that she doesn't fit with the animated characters. And yet she is a brilliant design in her own right. Awesome video as always man.

I thought the face sculpt doesn’t do the character justice. Emma Frost is supposed to be stunningly beautiful. Not sure I see that with this face sculpt.
Yeah, this is a tough one and very much in the eye of the beholder. Hasbro have made her face sculpt really accurate to the comic book source material they've drawn inspiration from, but I can also appreciate how that style might not appeal to everyone.
This figure is specifically meant for an Astonishing team display, and I'm all for it! It would be great for Hasbro to go the extra mile and make a diamond form variant with a cloth cape so she can be posed in more action poses. Maybe make it a 2 pack with Cassandra...?
Yep. I hadn't ordered the Cyclops from the wave, but now I'm reconsidering. I picked her up to fill a character gap, but now I'm feeling the Astonishing X-Men of it all. I'd love an updated Kitty on the new buck in Cassaday style...
A cloth cape with a wire would actually make the figure functional. Unfortunately from my experience Hasbro will never do that. It would make too much sense.

Hi there! There are a number of retailers I use over here, it's a bit of a lottery really as to who gets them first and where they are sourced from. I use InDemandToys , ComicsandCocktails and PropsandReplicas here in the UK, but sometimes the early arrival is from Hasbro Pulse itself. I generally make a pre-order, but then jump on social media posts from the aforementioned retailers announcing "import stock available". Hope that helps :)
