The music was pretty cool this time but i was glad it wasnt all music .. you have a soothing wonderful voice and i love hearing your foot steps .. really feels like we are all walking with you
Loved the school desks at 14:45. In the 1960s when I was in 7th & 8th grades in Elwood, Indiana our school which had been built in late 1800s (I think) still had these type of desks. Please keep smiling, Sarah!
I think I remember seeing this place years ago on my way to somewhere in California……but it wasn’t near this big! Going to have to go back! Looks like they are bringing it back to life! Really interesting! Thanks for bringing us along, stay safe out there! ❤️❤️❤️
I lived in Barstow as a kid and we went to Calico a couple times. That was in '67 and '68. Sure has changed a lot. But the thing I remember the most was a vortex house that was a real challenge to walk through. I didn't see that on your tour so I'm wondering if they shut that down. Now days that could be considered a hazard as it was a challenge for me as a kid to get through so I can imagine it would be hard for adults. That was neat to see all these years later. I don't remember the asphalt either. I think things were mostly dirt streets when I was a kid. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!❤
What a fun trip ! Romy and Michelle road trip ! Last time I was there it was mobbed and streets full and food and burgers going, howling wind and COLD too !
How awesome is this! I came from Maine to Texas year's ago, Ft.Worth is awesome and yet my old heart would love to LIVE the rest of my life adventuring and LIVING after being dumped by my family. I certainly would love it and my 2 small pup's as co pilots right??? I have heard of you, now hopped aboard! When I traveled around Texas I stopped at EVERY historical marker lol. Cool stuff here and thank you for sharing this 💜✌
Great adventure was there I late 1990 .To bad you were no able to ride the train and the mining tunnel tours very well laid out . Thank you for bringing up the memories from the past. 🏆
Been there many times and love that place, although I've never been there when it's been so deserted, love it!! I love going to those places when there's not a lot of people. 😀
I hate to tell you,you missed the biggest part the Maggy mine where zotar was that building was the entrance that took you into the mine. Knotts from Knotts berry farm built the place but it looks twice the size from 20years ago?
I had no idea the town was that extensive. My little bro had to do community service and his assignment was to do labor out there! They lived in Barstow
When I was in grade school about third grade, our desks were just like the ones in that old school. Ink well and all. But we didn’t have the ink. My mom told me a story about those ink wells. Any girl who had long hair and if a bad boy sat in back of the girl, he’d dip her hair in the ink well.
I went there once.... went in an Old mine to smoke and when I lit the lighter..... there was a HOLE right FN next to me that went straight down..!!! I'll never forget that 😜
Same here. Yermo used to be the nearest town for grocery shopping and lived near Baker, place called Afton Canyon. I loved the place, moved back to rez early 70s, use to visit Calico Days celebration and have cookouts.
It's very sad when they ruin what was great, just for greed. Not thinking, that if they had left it alone, they could have charged enough to visit it, that they would have seen more profit. Word of mouth would have been enough for it to take off. However, now it's just an old " mall."
The music was pretty cool this time but i was glad it wasnt all music .. you have a soothing wonderful voice and i love hearing your foot steps .. really feels like we are all walking with you
I went there as a kid, the attractions were free back then. Thanks for taking me with you!
Use to love going there as a kid
I was in Calico in 1968. I don't think there was even a parking lot then! I've wanted to go back there and see it again. Thanks for taking me along!
Calico is one of my favorite places to stop on the way between California and Las Vegas, it's really cool. Thanks for sharing.
It's not a short attention span, when you are in a new place there is something new to see around every corner.
Hello, you are doing great 👍. Love the way you do your TH-cam video so down to earth 🌻☮️🍄

I hope your Moab trip is going well. Last time I was in Calico I was 14. Long time ago..
Sarah, Love your style, and the music you choose 🌵❤️
Great tour! Back in the early '70s, My then GF and her dad went there. Lots of fun. It wasn't as ''touristy'' back then. Thanks for the memories...
I love hearing your foot steps.. feels like a first person exploring game.. and its like your Lara Croft..
A Jeep and her girl, in the desert, along with a new friend. Zoltar commands, much happiness, and stay safe for all
My parents took us there in the early 60s. I was about 10. Kids love the place. Thanks for the memories!

Yes, it has been many years since I visited Calico...probably early 70's. I don't even remember it being that big. Thanks for the great video!
Been wanting to see that little town for years. Glad I saw this. Probably spend less time in town and more on the surrounding trails.😎

Hellooo Gary!
This looks like a cool place to stop. I definitely need to check it out when in the area. Thanks for sharing 👍
Cool place. Sort of reminds me of Nelson in that it's set up for tourists, although this place seems much bigger with more stuff to explore.
It's definitely a tourist trap, but kids love it. For more authenticity, check out Bodie.
Great adventure was there I late 1990 .To bad you were no able to ride the train and the mining tunnel tours very well laid out . Thank you for bringing up the memories from the past. 🏆
Went there as a kid, in the 60s.

From first to third grade we had the exact same desk.
Yes definitely a tourist attraction but that's a good thing with nothing else out there ✌️🐝
You are 💞 precious..never forget it!
watched from Bryan,TX
Can I buy a sweatshirt?
One way to "clean up a town" is put a saloon door on the edge of a cliff. I for one would fall for it! Hahahaha!
I herd it was built by Knots berry farms
You're a sweety, Jeepsy, I'm enjoying your vids. Thank Wonder Hussy for sending me.

That is what it means on The sign. It's just a play on words
yup she's bad ass
It’s owned by Knotts Berry Farm.
I go to both my whole life
Certainly was a ghost town that day.

🧑🍳😀
Calico. Nowadays mining tourists.
Husband speaking, not really a ghost town any more. Not even a true replica of what it was. Thanks for all the walking
