Woodworking and Rolling Cigars: First Time Using my Home-made Belicoso Fino Mold

- I've been trying to design and make a wooden cigar mold that produces a shape exactly like the Bolivar Belicoso Fino (140mm x 52), including the correct curvature at the head. Woodworking in the heat is tough, but after several failed attempts I've made the first acceptable prototype today. This video is the very first time using it. What I end up rolling is more of a pointy torpedo than a true beli, but that's not the mold's fault. The mold's dimensions are spot on, and next time I'll get the tip looking right.
A brilliant restoration followed by Sausages and mash and Moretti, you sir are not a peasant! I take my cap off and bow to you.
That's great. Killer mold.
Thank you!
great mold, well done.
That is a beautiful mold!
That came out FANTASTIC 🤩 the mold is super cool too, I’ve been looking for a belicoso mold online but can’t find one. This gives me inspiration to make my own!
Thank you! I'd say go for it!
how much time do you put the cigar in the mold?
could you make a video showing how to make a mold? i would really want to make one but I have no woodworking skills
Do you happen to have a video or timelapse of the production of your beeauuutiful cigar mold? Did you carve it by hand?
I'm planning to make a video of my process next time I make a mold. I'm using a little table top 3018 CNC.
Please
From where I can got this wooden tool
It’s fantastic
And your work is an art
Thank you! I made it myself.
@@CatharsisCigars can I buy it please
I am super interested in you. Where are you from? How the heck do you know how to roll cigars so well? How do you have access to all the specific tobacco leaves needed to do it? It doesn't seem like an easy thing to just pick up as a hobby.
You can buy tobacco leaves online (For example wholeleaftobacco.com). I also grow some myself. If you're on Facebook, check out the Cigar Rollers group; it's pretty active.
Čo je to za masť??čo používaš na cigaru??
Can i use burley and Virginia to make a cigar???
Ideal gift for cigar lovers, @CatharsisCigars!
Looks awesome, how did you make the mold? I definitely want to try making some.
I designed it in Fusion, cleared some material with a drill press, then gave it the final shape using a little Chinese 3018 table top CNC. At some point I may make a video (or a series) on how I make these.
@@CatharsisCigars Interesting. Yeah I was thinking it could be done by drilling two identical holes and turning one into the base and the other into the top. Would be difficult to do it completely by hand though.
Can we not weigh the tobacco as per the standard size?
We could. I find that doing it by the feeling of the bunch in your hand gives better results.
How did you make it!!
thats a really nice looking mold, but those walls on the top piece are wayyyy too thin. you will find that they are going to start cracking and breaking off after just a handfull of cigars. next molds you make, you should make those walls around 3/32" or even 1/8" thick. that is the standard thickness of professionally made cigar molds made out of wood. the molds take a tremendous amount of pressure and abuse during the pressing and repeated opening and closing. It is a wonderful first mold though!! would love to see your process in making it.
So far, no cracking or breaking. I've modeled this based on the many professional wooden molds I have in my collection. I'll show more of my process in a video in the future.
La perfección hace mas atractivo y sabroso un puro..
That mold would be great for weed
Not my thing, but you do you!
That mold would help roll a huge thick blunt 👍
