    Good thing there are DVB-T2 models available. I have a Philips Full HD 24 inches monitor with speakers, After watching your video I ordered this tunner to watch OTA channels on my monitor. I also have an HDMI switch so I can change the input from PC to satellite receiver and OTA Tuner stick.

    It's well thought out, even though it's more complicated than a Boeing 737 Max simulator.

      If they THINK that I now have to pay for over the airwaves broadcasting tv signals, THEY can forget it!!!!! Might as well unplug my tv set and forget watching tv now forevermore! Things in this country are expensive ENOUGH and over the air tv signals are the only last thing left at present that people can take advantage to get their news, weather forecasts and just plain entertainment, now the government wants to charge us all for over the air tv signals, FORGET IT!!!! Whare are we at now, russia,china, north korea? What now, we going to start watching TASS the russian news agency now?

    Thank you for this. I didn’t know this existed. I have a projector. I like to take with me. It’s pocket size and sometimes I don’t wanna watch DVDs now there’s an option on there that says radio. Does that mean I can tune in the radio stations that are local also?

      @@justjillvanlife134 The radio side is actually for TV channels that are audio only, it will not tune in radio stations. A projector is a great idea to connect this . Thanks for watching!

    So I have the usb cable plugged into a wall charger so it gets power all the time. For some reason it is not doing the scheduled recording. I set a time and set it to daily. I also have the mode set to record and not view. Yes I do have a USB stick plugged in. if I manually start recording that works fine. Why is the scheduled recordings not showing up in the PVR section? Do you think I need to change the mode to view?

    • @NorthcoasterHobby
      @NorthcoasterHobby  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AlexBeaverProductions I’m not exactly sure what’s going on there. I know that changing the mode to view will cause the box not to record at all because view is simply like setting a reminder when a program starts so you can watch it. I’ll have a look at the timer function on mine and see what I could figure out.

    • @NorthcoasterHobby
      @NorthcoasterHobby  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AlexBeaverProductions I just thought about something. When you set the timer, is the device not recording at all or is it recording the wrong program? Because it could be a simple fix of the time. It could be that the box is not set the daylight savings time, and that would offset the recording time by an hour.

    • @AlexBeaverProductions
      @AlexBeaverProductions 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NorthcoasterHobby it's not recording at all. The only time it will record is if I manually start a recording.

    Same as a set top DTV box, same price, maybe only advantage is compact for behind a computer monitor on wall. Some of the cheap DTV boxes had poor power supply internal that ran hot and failed and or poor ventilation on video chips, some running 160F+. I added internal heatsink or ran without cover to help extend life, namely Ematics brand.

    • @NorthcoasterHobby
      @NorthcoasterHobby  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, and portability.

    • @NorthcoasterHobby
      @NorthcoasterHobby  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interestingly enough, many people may not notice the thin, almost invisible layer of plastic on many DTV boxes. The plastic blocks the vents on top. Many viewers have told me they never noticed the plastic until I pointed it out in a couple videos. Cheap power supplies and extra layers of plastic probably don’t mix too well!

    How do you pair the remote from the original TV remote? That way we only use one remote instead of original TV remote to turn off and ATSC remote for the channels.

    can you connect a coax cable tv to it in order to watch cable tv on a monitor?

    • @NorthcoasterHobby
      @NorthcoasterHobby  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No- the coaxial input is only for over the air TV antenna frequencies- plus the stick only decodes ATSC 1.0, not cable formats like QAM, etc.

      It is powered through the USB connection. Although it is ATSC 3.0 capable it also doesn’t have an HDMI or AV output. It also must be connected to an Android phone or TV box.
      I’d like to test it but I don’t have any ATSC 3.0 signals anywhere near me. ☺️

      If the older boxes still work, use them! This tuner stick is cool, but it’s essentially still just a DTV box. The advantages are that it can be hidden behind a TV, or used as a portable tuner.

    Whats the best antenna?

    • @NorthcoasterHobby
      @NorthcoasterHobby  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Antennas are not a one-size fits-all. Antennas receive specific RF frequencies depending on their design. Other factors such as your location relative to the broadcast signals, distance, obstructions, land terrain, trees as well as transmitter power all play a role in choosing the best antenna for your reception area.
      Here’s a playlist of TV antenna reviews I’ve made:
      TV Antenna Reviews
      th-cam.com/play/PLDX6gLCL4WMwMAycjBF3_ApXyAfwHNV4f.html
      Try this website to find where the broadcast towers are located in your area to give you an idea of which direction to point an antenna:
      www.antennaweb.org/
      Enter your zip code.
      Click ‘antenna will be installed 30 feet above ground’- this will give you a better listing of available channels.
      Press ‘go’.
      You’ll be able to see a map of the broadcast towers relative to your location, as well as a list of available channels in your TV market.
