3:37 - 4:06 is the most useful thing I've found after searching for hours on what the clicker is even for and how to pair it. Didn't find it anywhere on their site or any other vid
This is a great video - thank you! I have a similar setup with similar Liftmaster models and MyQ. QUESTION: Once the Meross is setup, can also still use the MyQ app to control doors? Just wondering. Thank you!
Yes. You can use the MyQ app, HomeLink garage door openers and wall buttons. The Meross sends signals like a HomeLink garage door opener. So all other methods of opening still remain functional. The biggest advantages are: 1) Meross will work with Apple HomeKit. MyQ will not. 2) There is no monthly subscription.
SIR, that was very helpful. So you can even have the meross inside the house 🏠 Have you done a distance test? Like opening from the kitchen or dorm ? Or the 2nd 3rd floor? I would love to have this one for the building entrance, but having the meross in the third floor our or rain. My motor is the same as yours yellow button. Great video Thanks 🙏
@@letsrolldiyauto1532 hey Sir thanks for your quick response . The language barrier here didn’t let me explain myself clearly hahaha. Let me try again because I’m REALLY interested in getting this solution you have. I understand that with our garage motors, we cannot connect the meross directly, instead we have to connect an accessory to the meross device, which I think is nothing but a regular remote. That makes me happy because that means (correct me if I’m wrong) that if I don’t want to use the open close sensors, I can put the meross WiFi device along with the accessory, under my bed if I want. Not necessarily in the garage. This question is because my garage door is in open air, so rain and sun might not be good for the equipment. This setup of yours if I’m correct, is my PERFECT solution 👍 Thanks again.
@@marioross that should be correct. I don’t know the range of the meross to the opener, but it should be the same as any garage door opener. I’d your regular opener works at a given distance, the meross should as well. Without the sensors, it will tell you either the garage door is always open or always closed. I don’t know if this would be a problem or not. That would be a question for meross support.
I have a homekit meross garage door opener, for months it showed up on my chevy infotainment screen using carplay and I could use it to open my garage door. About a month ago the icon that showed up in the carplay app on the infotainment screen would no longer operate. The app on my phone works fine but using carplay it no longer works. The icon still shows up on the infotainment screen but is inoperative. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but cannot get it to work anymore. Any idea why or can you do a video on this? Thanks!
Try deleting it from your phone and HomeKit. Press the reset button on the Garage Door. Then re-install it. I bought a new router and even though it was the same SSID and password, I had to re-pair it with all my devices, including Meross. The process isn't difficult. Just a pain to have to do.
Tried it, still not working, msg100 shows up on the infotainment screen but will not operate. Does it need to be HomeKit to work on Chevy infotainment? It does show up on apple home app and I can operate the door with it there. I just can’t figure out why it has been working ok for a couple years and then not. Do you know where the Chevy infotainment picks this up? Thanks!
I just installed mine today. I have the yellow learn button on the garage door open (LiftMaster 7675). I paired the Meross accessory and connected that to the actually device. In addition, I set up the sensors similar to how you have it. However, when I try to use home app or the Meross app to open the garage door, it makes a clicking sound from the Meross accessory or the Meross device but doesn’t open or close the door. In the Meross app, I get an error something like this: “the garage door failed to open or close”. In the home app, I see “obstruction detected”. Any clue on how to fix that?
Did you get the remotes from Meross? It seems like you have the remotes. It is my understanding that having the yellow learn button does not allow you to connect directly to the garage door opener. So when connected to the actual device, you mean the Meross? Or Lift Master? Should be just the Meross. After pairing, the garage door opener (accessory) should open and close the door even when not connected to the Meross. Also, when the garage door is closed, does it show closed on the Meross app? And show opened when the door is open in the app? This will confirm the sensors are operating normally. (I paired to the I opener button). Test using the Meross app to open and close the door. This should confirm that everything is good to this point. So 1) make sure the remotes will work alone. If not, pair again. When pairing, you will hear the click. Then press the remote button again immediately to open/close the door. Now you know you have a successful pairing. 2) open the Meross app and add your Meross unit. Make sure it is seen in the app. 3) check the open/close in the Meross app to make sure the sensors are working. If not, check their position. 4) use your iPhone’s camera and point it to the QR code on the Meross and it will automatically put the Meross into HomeKit. If it’s already there, it will not add it a second time. I’m thinking the remotes need to be re-paired.
@@letsrolldiyauto1532 yes, the remote has been paired (Meross sent me this via mail). I am able to open and close the garage door using that remote Meross sent. The remote is connected the to Meross garage door opener(MSG100). The MSG100 is connected to the sensors which are operating correctly. I tested it by bringing them close and separating them (notified by Meross app open or close). I have used both Meross app and the home app. The garage door won’t open or close. I can try re pairing the remote provided by Meross separately tomorrow. Thanks!
@@fer4er4th Here's another question: Did you get the MSC100 or the MSG100HK? The MSK100 is without HomeKit support and the MSK100HK is with HomeKit support. Does it say HomeKit on the box? I would imagine it wouldn't install on the HomeKit app if it didn't support it, though.

So what happens to the the original wall mounted garage door opener button.
It's still there and active.
