Hi Eri! Good point. That could be a mistake as well, in the sense that failing to file your taxes could affect one's future plans to immigrate to the US. Nonetheless, it's a mistake that could be easily be corrected after the fact.
Cab a person get in trouble if they work for pay under the table? As in their social security docs and other international student documents aren’t involved
quick question: I am on a J1 visa and I was given a job offer letter to work on campus but it was indicated in the letter as 40 hours per week. Per what I read online I cannot work more than 20 hours per week during school sessions but I can work more than 20 hours when school is out of session like long vacations. Any advice on this and is what I read online valid?
While working full-time on F-1 OPT can one take non-degree seeking classes or certificates part-time (say in evening or weekend) with any of the professional education schools (Stanford Centre for Professional Education), continuing education schools, extension schools (UCSC Extension) etc. ?

Yes one can get in trouble doing that, as any type of work done without authorization from your DSO violates your student status.

How can you start a business, like a software company?
As an international student, you can do that on post-completion OPT.
