🇸🇬4K - Marina Bay Sands The Dragon Awaken Light-Up | Singapore Chinese New Year
Marina Bay Sands is known for its truly spectacular festive light-ups, especially during the Lunar New Year. This year, they have taken things to the next level with “The Dragon Awakens: 2024 Light-Up” event.
The event features the reveal of two majestic 40-metre-long dragons in front of a 15-metre-tall Dragon’s Gate at the heart of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. The decorations, framed by 88 koi fish ornaments, a dragon’s pearl, and 28 lotus lanterns, illustrate The Legend of the Dragon Gate. This legend tells the story of a carp that perseveres upstream and transforms into a powerful dragon once it crosses the dragon’s gate.
In addition to the light-up, the event includes dragon and lion dance performances, koi dancers, and a performance by Nathan Hartono. There is also a dazzling drone light show at the Marina Bay waterfront, titled “The Legend of the Dragon Gate”, which starts at 8pm on selected dates till February 18.
The event is free and open to the public. The light-up event has drawn huge crowds, with people gathering at all available vantage points.
