Very good update. Also beautiful rabbits you have. I'm barley starting out on my rabbitry hopefully I'll be able to work up to show rabbits, I'll be just doing pets and meat rabbits for now until I've seen and learned more from my own things I do and how to improve.
I have watched several of your videos. I am amazed at the husbandry skills in your rabbitry. How long have your been at this level of care and breeding and I am curious...how many best in show wins have you had over the years? Your rabbits are definitely "top-shelf."
I might see you at nationals, I won't have anything old enough to show but I'm picking up a rabbit there and hopefully I'll get to see some of the judging.
I'm a new subscriber and I really like this update. I can relate to some things you said. I herd you say that one had a eye infection and he just started getting better. We have a black New Zealand that has a eye infection how should we take care of it? Also is their a reason you don't do blacks?
lifeonthefarm We use scour halt and put drops of it in the eye every couple days till it heals. works most the time but not on all. You can get it at Tractor Supply Etc. Not a vet so at your own risk, but thats what we do. I love black NZ because they are NZ but the reason i don't do them is they do not appeal to me. Every breed has black almost, so they are not special to me. I like red its more rare to see in a rabbit and is very catchy to others when they see them. I don't like the sunburning they can get. More space I have for reds the more reds i have to choose from for success. I like the focus on one variety, I believe it is why I'm successful. Everything money time etc goes to them plus I like improving reds. they have more room to improve. Nothing makes me smile more than my broken red beating broken black. They have many more out there competing. Red are the original and it's time they come back.
