This is not a knock by any stretch. You just cemented my decision on what size bike to get... wow, that thing looks heavy... especially after about the 3rd time of an inverted pickup.. kudos buddy.
I love the GS for trips on and off road until I've dropped it 3-4 times then I'm wishing I had something smaller. But I do have a smaller bike (husky 701) and it's too uncomfortable for trips like this. I'd be limited to 40L of gear and to do 3-4,000 miles on it. that's gonna be tough. Glad you found the video helpful and entertaining.
What a ride! Beautiful scenery.

Man, I’m exhausted!
Me too! At this point, tendons in my hands and feet were worn out. Couldn’t make a fist. Ready for a rest.
Props to you doing this on that heavy bike. Sand and heavy motorcycles don’t go together. I run a drz400 s and that’s not the greatest in sand
Thanks. It was a fun (and challenging) trip. LOTS of sand!!!
That bike is too big for that loop maybe dr650
Maybe. Could also just be the rider.
