ABOUT THAT ENGINE: As an owner of a Supersport S, V2 Street fighter, and someone who's raced many V4's and rode them, I can only share my experience. The Supersport S with the full Akra (which had 70 percent torque available at 3000rpm) was faster than the V2 and kept up with the VR completely until 70mph. One could only know this from having owned all of them. Honestly, having that much Torque available made the Supersport S my favorite bike of all the Ducati's I've ever rode. I think what Ducati did is genious, and I understand the skeptisim of losing HP, but you all will see how amazing this engine and bike will be. The Supersport S needed to be a little more sporty for the ergonomics, and the Panigale V2 was still a little uncomfortable for all day street riding. I think this bike will be a massive hit, if power is your concern, throw on a full exhaust. Out of having both and riding many V4's, the Supersport S engine with the full akra was the fastest on the road (up to 70mph), people would be blown away when I'd race them (allegedly). Hope that helps!
Completely agree. A lot of the focus will be on -24% hp compared to the previous V2, but the loss in terms of power/weight ratio is -14%. But the torque curve is everything, and a huge improvement on the previous V2, and the weight loss will also probably make it feel much easier in the curves. Also completely agree on riding comfort. The SS was very nice for all day riding, but annoyingly lacked cruise control. The previous V2 was not at all comfortable. I think what annoys people most is that this is perhaps more of a Supersport+ than a Panigale. Fair enough, but to me this looks like a perfect sports bike for the road (I don't ride track) and the branding doesn't bother me. Really looking forward to the real world tests of the bike, and seeing how the new engine shapes up. The Testastretta proved to be an extremely versatile and highly reliable engine, and hoping this one is the same. An added bonus will be longer service intervals with the new motor.
I cant blame ducati fans for feeling rather gutted about the changes, but I personally REALLY dig the new v2. I think it looks even better than the previous model, and a 120 HP machine that is pushing sub 400 lbs is right up my alley. As a Ducati I can see their fanbase getting uppity, but as a sportbike I absolutely love it so far
Love your content; intelligent yet entertaining at the same time. To me, this new V2(S), as you said first off has the best tech on the market; however, older V2 vs new V2, yes everyone upset with HP drop but for me when the Ducati's sport bike test rider does the same lap time on track with old V2 vs this new V2 it not only harkens back to it is the rider not so much the bike but even more how much better this bike is to even do that. Let's be honest, 95% of us track riders (even me and I am advanced class) never can use all that hp. I'm putting a deposit just b/c I know I'll get even better with this bike with all her characteristics. Excited!
Thank for making this brother. This is what I’ve been trying to get across to people who have kept trying to stand by “useable” and “comfortable” power. Think if they slapped a different name on it rather than Panigale V2….would have been better.
I can't wait to sit on this bike. I'm seriously considering to purchase one. I think it's a stroke of genius making it less track focused - most bikes will spend 99% of their time on the roads, so it will suit a lot more buyers. In Australia the Yamaha R9 is just over $23k ride away & the Ducati Panigale is $24.5k ride away, so it's a no brainer to seriously consider the Ducati (in Australia).
this bike is great BUT it should not replace the old v2 it should replace the supersport 950... having a 120 to 200 hp gap is to much if you wanna Upgrade to big brother in future.. having 3 sport bikes. 120hp 155hp and 200+hp is the way to go
This new V2 is a little too racy to replace the SuperSport model, IMO as a SuperSport owner these last few years. What I wanted is cruise control and better integration of saddlebags, like on the Multis, which have the mounting points designed-in, not a steel cage subframe bolted on. But seeing as how the SuperSport was not a big seller for Ducati, maybe this new V2 will be more to the public's liking.
I love the idea of this bike. I’m convinced most new bikes are waaay too powerful and most riders probably don’t even realize just how little of the power they actually use. This is a lightweight V2 sport bike designed with riders in mind not racers.
I hear you... Have a 24' Ducati monster, and rode buddies 23' panigale v4s for a day, but bike felt so much heavier and way too quick for the streets, felt like a track bike. With this new ergonomic plus weight savings plus amazing torque it fits right iny wheelhouse. So yes I guess I am definitely interested!
I’ve also owned many Ducati. This bike is a true Super Sport. Keep in mind, the Super Sport is the Ducati that made, and saved Ducati. I’m mid way through my 60’s. As one ages the body places limits on the person. This is a true Ducati, one that has been sorely lacking. It’s now, again up to the rider and mount to show their abilities to the brutish bikes that only speak power. I like it!
The current generation Panigale will be sought after and owners might get close to what they put into them. The new gen has a new flavor and don't we all love Italian! Can't wait to see these on the floor at Moto Corsa.
As much as i hate to see these new FIM regulations and emissions completely change the supersport class for the championship, I am really looking forward to it. You are right about Ducati never making compromises, which is also why Ducati came into the game in WSSP in 2020, and starting completely demolishing the R6 that had been winning for 6 years straight. Stefano Manzi had been pushing the R6 to its limit but there's only so much he could squeeze out of those 120hp against the 150hp monsters. I feel like now it's going to be a fair fight.
The 2023 SFV2 was my first ducati, couldnt imagine lower engine in it. Its such a good bike and i cant help but think the new ones will be lacking. Waiting for a test ride to see how all that torque at 3k feels.
I'm glad I bought two 2024 Superquadro Panigale V2s for my twin boys. The new 2025 Panigale V2 is basically a super sport, they should have called it the PanSport V2.
People making the incorrect assumption that the special edition was not a final V2 its a final SUPERQUADRO edition it was the last panigale to have the Superquadro V2 engine, not the last v2 panigale
If you didn't have a Ducati yet and the old V2's aren't for sale anymore, what would you buy? I am leaning towards MV Agusta F3 now but am really bummed honestly. Had an R6 before and wanted to buy the V2 2024 but this new V2 just has no soul at all to me.
Dont over complicate it, the answer is simple. What are bikes more used for, track or street riding? Street! So having 2 race bikes doesn’t make sense. They had 2 race bikes and 1 streetbike. Now they have one street bike (new v2), and one racebike (v4). Commercially it makes sense.
2012 checkmate. They could have left it at that but now we have a few more flavors to choose from. To progress 13 years only to be stifled by compromises is truly a painful reality.
I hear what you’re saying on multiple levels but I like to think of this bike as something completely different than the last V2. If you look at it independently of its predecessor it’s still a very badass bike and if it has any of the V4s rider aids it will tear shit up on the track. Now for street use I really like what they did with the ergos but I’m really disappointed it lost torque.
As someone that has worked in marketing and development for 13 years for a European car manufacturer, this move by Ducati is a well known one. Ducati knows as long as their V2 looks great…they will sell, even with 50% less performance. It’s been proven time and time again, as long as a car/bike LOOKS great, consumers will drive up demand. Manufacturers know a majority of their buyers are not serious racers. Ducati is saying sales>performance.
I really don’t mind the new Panigale V2. I don’t need all that power and I don’t do track often as well. Just streets and some fun in the free way. I think this is just perfect for me.
I am a newer rider. My cousin has had a v4s for a few years. I have always looked into Ducatis and the old v2 was kind of jnteresting, but this is exactly what i would want. Same with the r9. They fall into an interesting to me "usable" power range.
Also I don't know how the A2 V2 is supposed to work. The A2 limitation says that the unrestricted bike can only have 95hp, so will this be a 95hp V2?? Which one then restricts to 0.2kW/kg, depending on the weight max 48hp???
Same feel. I prefer the current v2 over this new v2. Now I'm waiting for my friend to sell his v2 to me since ako lang naman na gamit at display lang naman sa bahay nila 😂
Kinda wild to see Yamaha and Ducatis ideas and mindset kind of align on the r9 and new v2. They made both keeping street ability in mind which I think people will appreciate in the long run. The rc990 also is on the same path apparently. The age of uncomfortable, ultra track aggressive middle weight supersports is coming to an end it seems.
There is no doubt the value of the previous generation of V2 will now go up. Better engine and much better looking in my opinion. A Ducati without a single sided swing arm even though heavier may as well be another Japanese sports bike but for double the price.
It's a double-edged sword for Ducati as they simplify their bikes by deleting a lot of the expected content (trellis frame, desmo, belt-drive cams, single-sided swingarms). Yes, the bikes are lighter, which I applaud, but are they still Ducatis?
Judging from that pained look in your eyes the entire video, I'm guessing you weren't being as harsh as you felt lol. Yeah, the new V2 makes sense in the way racing is going, but it's as you said...not uncompromising the way Ducati has always been. The new V2 sounds more like a the next gen of the SuperSport, which is fine. Personally, I'd rather Ducati drop the Panigale V2 line and call this one the new SuperSport, instead of what we got. On the bright side, it makes the path to buying a V4 clearer.
what was the realistic market for the old v2? why would people not just buy the v4 instead. This looks to be an option for more people. What I am really looking forward to is them carrying this engine to the desertX. (and even multi v2) that should be a pretty clear update over the existing testastreta engine
Everyone too focused on Desmo and engine size. Nobody talking about 70% torque at 3k. My only complaint is calling it a V2. This will be my new track bike. Sincerely a former V2 owner (2020-2024) now a Tuono v4 factory owner- best bike ever!!!
Given the low output it has shifted into a lower class of bikes as you said like the R9 but pricing is still a big bike pricing given here is Australia the s1000RR , GSX-R1000 are the same price as this new V2S and R9 is $4K cheaper
I agree with you 100%!! Very disappointing! They should have made the engine more powerful with Desmo valves and a shorter stroke to keep it at 150 hp. It would have been lighter and more bad ass
Ducatistas can finally have a somewhat more comfortable panigale for the ducati group rides and bike meet rides they only do I guess... j/k. I'll still probably end up getting the R9 because but the Panigale V2 or KTMRC990R are both also making strong cases to be the sportbike I want in my garage, but the problem is they're also both new motors with no proven reliability/maintenance record I don't think I want to risk buying. Maybe further down the road i'll pick up one used if it's proven reliable.
I think the reason was the new regulation D5+ in Europe and the inflation. They would had to make it real expensive and if the people got less money its a deadly combination
The old V2/current V2 is basically a litre sports bike with 955cc and with it competing and winning against 600cc bikes makes the racing too boring to watch even with restrictions. It'a pity that the old V2/current V2 is going away, but it will make all the Supersport racing championships exciting again to watch without Ducati run away victories.
You missed the entire reason for the new V2: weight reduction They created a WAYYYYY easier motorcycle to ride by making one of the lightest motorcycles in this category while still maintaining sufficient Hp. They dumped the old design because the new offerings by competitors made the old V2 a "also ran." By getting rid of a huge amount of weight they once again can say they created something that was designed to be the most rider friendly in its class.
The entire reason is to race the bike in supersport world without having to detune a heavy bike. That’s what I stated, so how did i miss the “entire reason”?
It's not all that much lighter than the previous V2, to be fair. With all of the fancy electronics, the previous V2 was surprisingly accessible, despite the available power. And it felt substantially easier to handle than the R6 I owned, despite the R6 being about 40lbs lighter, both with full fluids.
@@allangrse617 Yes, but the clip-ons are lower (less comfortable) and it's missing integrated saddlebag mounts like on the Multis needed to be a true SuperSport replacement.
@@rlsedition Oh, I see it more like a comfortable panigale, than a sporty super sport. I'm not sure what a true super sport is, the earlier gen was def not comfortable, nor did it have integrated saddle bag mounts
@@allangrse617 I've owned both a 1999 900 SuperSport and a 2017 939 SuperSport, so I'm very familiar with those models. All it took on the '99 model to fix the riding position were some raised handlebars. The current SuperSport has clip-ons above the top triple clamp taller than those on this new V2 and matching saddlebags, but you have to install a large, removable steel bracket to mount the bags versus the more integrated mounts used on the Multis. Depends on where you're coming from. If you go on longer trips you need some way to carry things and saddlebags make a lot of sense. If your riding is mostly local the new V2 appears to be a more comfortable and affordable Panigale, as you said. Since I already have the current SuperSport with bags and tend to go on longer trips the only thing I'm envious about on the new V2 is the lighter weight. I went through that exercise on my '99, taking some 50 lbs off the bike (389 lbs with full fuel), but it took some $10k and a lot of work to get it there - magnesium wheels, CF bodywork and fuel tank, etc. It's much easier to let the factory do it.
I think Ducati would just prefer people chasing numbers to get the v4, after all it has a lower hp mode. The v2 is being positioned as more of an entry level, beginner friendly bike.
@@moto_madslims_joelcan you do your own oil changes on them without the dealer getting in the way of warranties? That’s one thing about Yamaha I like but Ducati and BMW seem to caution against your own maintenance.
@@PrestoninParadisus I mean if you’re gonna get into the bike world you should get into taking apart your motorcycle and putting it back together. So me yes I do. If I can’t comfortably do maintenance like that then I shouldn’t own a motorcycle let alone a Ducati. This isn’t me trying to be harsh, just trying to prove a point that we should all be gear heads and be willing to look at that “void warranty” in our heads and be okay with “fuck it, let’s do it”.
People who only focus on spec sheets and peak HP numbers, don't get it. It's not about what power you have, it's about what you can use. and a bike is the sum of ALL of its parts. My car makes 500hp and is RWD. Line me up on the street against an 807hp Dodge Demon, and I will spank it every time. My car is mid engine and weighs 700lbs less... All that power in the Dodge is pointless as it just sits there spinning its tires when the light turns green, while I launch like getting shot out of a cannon. Doesn't matter than I make 300hp LESS. I also weigh a lot less and I have vastly superior traction... This new Panigale and SF is gonna be brilliant. And, they dropped the price by offering a base model and an S model. The R9 is gonna be brilliant, as will the new KTM offering.
I FREAKED OUT at the dealership when the V2 that was there disappeared, knowing this bike was coming. Thankfully, they were able to order one in, and the bike that came is still somehow a 2025, but last year's version. I think the new model is beautiful now that it's here, but it's not the same bike. Torque curve and all that... but that's what I love about Ducati's old two cylinder engines... they're fine, and then they're suddenly not fine and you've hit the rev limiter. There's so much character to that, for me, anyway.
The people who have to buy the "fastest ever" are gonna buy the V4 anyway. I think this bike is targeted at the R9/RS660 market segment. I'm really curious to ride this one.
It's crazy how people are saying this bike will be awesome, while absolutely bashing the R9. Pretty much same numbers in power while being much cheaper.. I guess people just like to pay higher prices for things they could get cheaper.
Hi Adobo Moto, pinoy too from lynnwood Wa. Is it okey to ask you a question here in this comment section? Seeking some advice since you’re the expert in motorcycle. Let me know if it’s okey.
You can’t sell a bike that isn’t in a competitive field no more, great business decision by Ducati since there is more competition from cheap china bikes taking sales. I think its important to understand business sustainability in this new age era.
That's just it, the old V2 had very nonlinear power delivery. It has low output until you get it spinning pretty fast, then the power comes on like a rocket. That's fine on a track bike that you can keep on boil, but sucks ass for road riding. The new engine produces FAR more linear power across the range making it MUCH easier to modulate accurately when you're riding technical roads (torky as people are apt to say). And will feel far more relaxed than constantly banging off the rev limiter on the old engine. And FTR, springs used to suffer valve float. They couldn't rebound as fast as the engine could get to spinning. That's hard on engine parts when the valves start hammering the piston crowns. Anyway, good vid, tho I'd MUCH rather have this than the old one. If they bring it out in their old Ferrari yellow, I might well lose my mind.

Same feel. I prefer the current v2 over this new v2. Now I'm waiting for my friend to sell his v2 to me since ako lang naman na gamit at display lang naman sa bahay nila 😂
We all like different things for different reasons. Forget about what everyone else thinks. If you like it, just get it. (just don't tell the wife)
💀
All my strength, mind, and soul will go into owning this machine.
Get the old v2!
Shred the gnar!
Kinda wild to see Yamaha and Ducatis ideas and mindset kind of align on the r9 and new v2. They made both keeping street ability in mind which I think people will appreciate in the long run. The rc990 also is on the same path apparently. The age of uncomfortable, ultra track aggressive middle weight supersports is coming to an end it seems.
thats really sad this world looses it spirit
There is no doubt the value of the previous generation of V2 will now go up. Better engine and much better looking in my opinion. A Ducati without a single sided swing arm even though heavier may as well be another Japanese sports bike but for double the price.
It's a double-edged sword for Ducati as they simplify their bikes by deleting a lot of the expected content (trellis frame, desmo, belt-drive cams, single-sided swingarms). Yes, the bikes are lighter, which I applaud, but are they still Ducatis?
I love the weight reduction!
The best way to describe desmodromic is
"DU MA Vtec"
Lmfao
That price tag will win me over
Judging from that pained look in your eyes the entire video, I'm guessing you weren't being as harsh as you felt lol.
People would buy the new V2 to save some $13,000 versus the base V4 Pani.
Everyone too focused on Desmo and engine size. Nobody talking about 70% torque at 3k. My only complaint is calling it a V2. This will be my new track bike.
Sincerely a former V2 owner (2020-2024) now a Tuono v4 factory owner- best bike ever!!!
I know, missed that opportunity to talk about it
0:09 Becuase one is a superquadro genius
whens the next brude talk coming??
Tomorrow
Having owned every big panigale generation, I'm honestly more interested in V2S than the new v4s. Until they come out with a v4r😅
This is cool BUT Varg video when?
Given the low output it has shifted into a lower class of bikes as you said like the R9 but pricing is still a big bike pricing given here is Australia the s1000RR , GSX-R1000 are the same price as this new V2S and R9 is $4K cheaper
That's part of the problem with this new bike - it's cheaper to manufacture, but no less expensive to buy.
Present Bro 🙋
I want Adobo's opinion on the new rc990r, i absolutely like it tbh.
I agree with you 100%!! Very disappointing! They should have made the engine more powerful with Desmo valves and a shorter stroke to keep it at 150 hp. It would have been lighter and more bad ass
Friday , pizza and adobo moto. It’s a good day.
i love my 1199🙏 no desmo on the new v2 is wild though
Ducatistas can finally have a somewhat more comfortable panigale for the ducati group rides and bike meet rides they only do I guess... j/k. I'll still probably end up getting the R9 because but the Panigale V2 or KTMRC990R are both also making strong cases to be the sportbike I want in my garage, but the problem is they're also both new motors with no proven reliability/maintenance record I don't think I want to risk buying. Maybe further down the road i'll pick up one used if it's proven reliable.
Ayee Sup Adobo!
I read earlier that lap times were only off by 2 tens of a sec
I think the reason was the new regulation D5+ in Europe and the inflation. They would had to make it real expensive and if the people got less money its a deadly combination
I hope this isn't a full blown R7-ization of the V2
Oh sheeze good point, but I don’t think it’s that pewny 💀
The old V2/current V2 is basically a litre sports bike with 955cc and with it competing and winning against 600cc bikes makes the racing too boring to watch even with restrictions. It'a pity that the old V2/current V2 is going away, but it will make all the Supersport racing championships exciting again to watch without Ducati run away victories.
Guess I'll be keeping my 2021 forever then.
Me too 😂
The new V2/V2S just added so much more value to the prior gen. . Makes me love my ‘22 V2 even more!
Just bought my 2024 Panigale V2 definitely keeping mine
You missed the entire reason for the new V2: weight reduction
They created a WAYYYYY easier motorcycle to ride by making one of the lightest motorcycles in this category while still maintaining sufficient Hp.
The V2 is more like a new Supersport. But for 16k im really tempted. 120 hp is good for road use. But from 155 hp to 120 hp is hard…
Yeah its down on hp, and cc, but its lighter and has a better mid range, so its gonna be more road friendly 😁
@@allangrse617 As a current SuperSport owner, there are two things I'd like on my bike that the new V2 has - cruise control and much lighter weight.
I think Ducati would just prefer people chasing numbers to get the v4, after all it has a lower hp mode.
The v2 is being positioned as more of an entry level, beginner friendly bike.
I love the looks of Ducati but i'm worried about owning one with all the stories I hear about reliability.
I’ve owned 3 for years, street fighter v4s, monster and Panigale. Your worries are not worth worrying brother.
@@moto_madslims_joelcan you do your own oil changes on them without the dealer getting in the way of warranties? That’s one thing about Yamaha I like but Ducati and BMW seem to caution against your own maintenance.
Ducatis are reliable
@@PrestoninParadisus I mean if you’re gonna get into the bike world you should get into taking apart your motorcycle and putting it back together. So me yes I do. If I can’t comfortably do maintenance like that then I shouldn’t own a motorcycle let alone a Ducati. This isn’t me trying to be harsh, just trying to prove a point that we should all be gear heads and be willing to look at that “void warranty” in our heads and be okay with “fuck it, let’s do it”.
@@moto_madslims_joel oh I do all my own installs and maintenance on my MT-10 SP. I’ve heard Ducati frowns on it though as well warranty issues.
Bro ar you a Filipino?😊
Should blow the beloved Aprilia 660 out of the water too.
At the end of the day I want my Panigale designed and built for a class.
There's so much character to that, for me, anyway.
tga asa mn k s pinas?
Interesting!
I guess people just like to pay higher prices for things they could get cheaper.
every company is launching bikes in 120hp category!! R9, RS660 factory, V2, CBR750R!!
We want old v2
Hi Adobo Moto, pinoy too from lynnwood Wa. Is it okey to ask you a question here in this comment section? Seeking some advice since you’re the expert in motorcycle. Let me know if it’s okey.
You can’t sell a bike that isn’t in a competitive field no more, great business decision by Ducati since there is more competition from cheap china bikes taking sales. I think its important to understand business sustainability in this new age era.
Your hands are so distracting. Otherwise I’m a big fan x
Hey adobo CF moto just revealed a concept bike , a freaking V4 with 209 HP give us your views .
Great video as always but please “Ducatisti” is plural use “Ducatista” when u talk about yourself. 😂
New V2s look like undernourished bikes or like the Sharmax knock-offs
Was this Ducati or Audi’s idea..
Why couldn’t we get ecs though!!!!!!!!! The “s” is 18k and no ecs is quite a disappointment
i guess they will either kill the supersport or put a detuned version of this engine into the supersport to complete with 70-80 hp range of sportbikes
No single sided swing arm looks like they were trying to save a buck
