Kondana Cave | How to go to Kondana cave and Rajmachi Fort from Karjat |Complete trek guide

In this vlog I am taking you all to one of the most beautiful lush green trek of #Karjat.It is a one day easy trek. This cave is located in Kondana village 12 km from Karjat Railway station in the Karjat-Lonavala region of Maharashtra.
It is an ancient rock-cut cave. Kondana Caves are very famous Buddhist caves. The caves were excavated in the first century B.C. These caves enclose sculptures, vihara, chaitya, and stupa. Sculptures and stupas are specimens of the ancient period Buddhist architecture.
The trek to the cave passes through forests and multiple small waterfalls .
You can also hike to Rajmachi fort from Kondana cave.
Nearest Railhead : #Karjat
Base Village : #Kondiwade Village
Difficulty : Easy
Best Time : July to Sep

How to get to Kondana Caves from Karjat?
India---Maharashtra---Mumbai---Karjat Local Station
Take the local train to Karjat.
Option 1:
Go to Karjat Taxi Stand (East)and take a direct taxi to Kondana Cave base village. Current rate is INR 400-500 to base village. If you are in a group you may split the fare or pay full as per your convenience.
Option 2:(If you are solo and don't want to spend 400 bucks):
Go via village by village.
Take tum-tum from #karjat Auto Stand (West )to #Kondiwade village and then trek to Kondana cave.
INR 30/ seat
On returning follow the same route.

How to reach kondana caves from karjat station ? What options do we have ?

Get down at Karjat West
And take a direct auto to base village of Kondane
Direct auto will take around 250-300 as per negotiation

--- INR 30/ seat
How much time it will take to reach Kondana Village from Karjat?
--- Not more than 30 min as it is only approx. 13.1 km from Karjat Railway station.
2) Is thare any home stay facility in Rajmachi Village?
--- Yes there is. You can easily get at very affordable price from 300 - 500 per night with dinner.
