Ahhh….the stylish seventies. Great music, great films, great television, great football, and - mercilessly - not a ghastly tattoo nor irritating mobile phone in sight.
I was a child of the 1970s born in March 1963. Christmas 1973 my main Christmas present was an LED watch like James Bond had in Live I Let Die. You pressed the button and the time would light up in red numbers. A really fancy watch for the time. Best decade for music t. And radio.
That Paxo advert where the mum is slaving to do everything for Xmas whilst the dad and kids are just watching her without helping. Then she does the Xmas lunch, but forgets the Paxo and the lazy sods are giving her evils.
Woollies with Dr. Magnus Pike / Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart / Martin Fisk (Yorkie Bar man) / Tim Brooke-Taylor / Jimmy Young. I don't know the old lady. Asda with James Bolam. National with Dudley Moore. Tetley - Brian Glover (at end). Imperial Leather / Action Man voiced by Patrick Allen. Oxo with Dennis Waterman. Milk Tray ('Night Rider') composed by Cliff Adams. Milk Tray man was Gary Myers who played the role for at least 10 years. A Handful Of Smarties composed by Mike Batt and sung by Linda Lewis.
Give me a time machine to go back to these good times..and not come back..
And me.

@ Garethbramley1: I think the lady was the author Margaret Powell, Gareth.
The woolworth ads was like a "who's that?" of television.
Does anyone remember The High Life with the now serious thespian Alan Cumming?
Ah yes, economy was collapsing, record unemployment, Thatcher round the corner and the winter of discontent!!!
And our economy is in good shape? And just wait until Net zero affects your heating bill.
