i could not agree more with you. To be honest, i am sure they can check the numbers arenanet, but i am sure that a 1 vs 1 mode is necessary. So that people can practice duels and their class and other classes. conquest has too many interactions and chaos no wonder new players can not learn. You have the horrible matchmaking, so it frustrated veteran players that must deal with shit teams, and then you have new players that are thrown from one side to the other without having any chance to counter.
I would play wvw if it was not for the fact that i keep dying to groups. Yesterday i joined for a little bit to see what is up, to fight an elementalist in a close match that went on for 3 minutes, only for 10 enemies to join and kill me. It sucks, if only there was a 1 vs 1 mode where i could practice and fight, just fight.

As a PVE only player I stay away from the PVP scene because of the highly toxic player base. It's not fun and just not worth playing.
