That's not correct. Multiple animations are taken straight from the source with only minor adjusts. They are not completely created from scratch. It would require to much work.

When DBZ Raging Blast 2 came out though, they had redone the OVA into newer animation style (closer to Super’s) and added it into the game to watch while adding the villain, Hatchiyack, the red villain you saw, as a playable character as well. He’s shown up more since then. While I don’t play Dokkan, I do know it includes a ton of DBH/SDBH characters as well as a few original fusions from the Dragon Ball Fusions game.
Yeah they did a celebration with fusions and a crossover with Dr slump. There were some arales in the game. Dragon ball heroes celebration happens every November on Dokkan with a new batch of units dropping every time.
The best thing about Dokkan animation is the animate everything differently based off of it's origin or when the moment was captured. Any unit from DBS Super Hero has that animation style. Moments from DBZ movies will have their respective style. We just got new units from OG Dragon Ball and they animated them to look just like a crisper version of OG DB 😂
This is an amazing game. Some of the characters in this game have intros and some have KO screens. However, global side is 6 months behind the Japan dokkan battle since global dokkan was created in end of July and beginning of August. Right now their is a WorldWide event where both Japan and Global dokkan get the same banner. I have been playing since the 1st or 2nd year anniversary of global dokkan.
I think legend is more pvp based and dokkan is more collectioning card/ doing the right team composition Ps : i played legend long ago but i play dokkan everyday since 6y

Active skills are not the only animation,super attacks ,ultra super attacks,transformations and standby skills also use animation,also for these animations they uses panels from the anime or the movies so they look similar but the older animations were upscaled by drawing them again
The way they do most of the really good animations are sample it from the movie, and then put it into the game. They aren't just dropping the clips in, a lot of the animations are done by the staff, they just sample it mostly off the movie. That's why some of the more non-canon units (like the SSJ Goku and Gohan's active skill doesn't look as flashy despite being a newer unit, that unit has its own made from nothing animations, whereas the good animations already have sampled.) it still takes them a lot of effort to do though.
You should check out the revives, entrance animations and also the super attacks (for the latest units). You should also check out the 8th anniversary standby skills
Dokkan battle is kinda just good animations with better OST and Legends is mainly about fighting with strategy, honestly I like legends more because the characters fighting is more in your control in my opinion.
dokkan and legends are totally different games, dokkan is turn based with a static gameplay, legends is a real time game with total different mechanics
The orbs are "ki" you pick up ki with characters and fire super attack to damage the eneamy there is much more then that but thats a simple explanation

Dokkan Battle is straight fire, I've played for years and I keep going, almost all F2P too, I've only payed once and it was only 7 bucks, so yeah, no money required to have fun, try it out!
I'm pretty sure some of the Dokkan community calls the Beast Gohan "Beastless" Gohan because he is only in Beast for that one attack after that he goes back to being Ultimate Gohan.
just saying if you want to have a calm and relaxing gameplay get dokkan if you want competitive pvp/gameplay get legends and another thing dokkan is very good in everything the f2p aspect is very good theres no pvp tho and for legends its the reverse f2p aspect is pretty good at the start but later it gets worse it has pvp tho. Another thing for legends is that if you dont get the new unit your screwed for a month before like the 3rd aniv it was f2p friendly and you could actually get cc aka chrono crystals (currency of dbl) but now its hard. Whales (people who spend money) make pvp harder and use the same broken teams so getting cc from pvp is very hard you can still get like 3k cc but the rates are so low that you will get shafted most of the time. Damn wrote an entire essay anyway i dont want to discourage you to play legends give it a try i cant change peoples opinions over a "few" words :skull: (said as an old dbl plyer)
