Hsieh was screaming so loudly towards the end of the second set. Something she doesn't do often. Love to see it
Mertens has that impact on her and I love it.
She didn't play that well today. Only at the end of the second set she up her game. Hope she performs better in the next match.
@@pirate123166 Both she and Mertens were pretty tight and tense the first set. I'm guessing it was because they only needed to take 1 set to qualify for the semis and had some pressure. After they got past it, they were able to play and hit more freely in the second set.

It’s such a great match! So happy for Hsieh is able to find a good double parter Elise who is younger and full of energy to fight together. Congratulations and fingers/toes crossed for tomorrow’s semi final. I really love to see you both win the championship together.

So, as a mexican, i was obiously cheering for Olmes and Fichman, its a pity that when they were playing their best tennis (they where in the fourth round of Wimbledon) Fichman got injured and didn´t play for a couple of months. This stopped their progress as a team and they got just a couple of matches before they came and play against the very best. Still they put on a great couple of matches agains Guarachi/Krawczyk and Hsieh/Mertens (against Krejcikova/Siniakova they didn´t stood a chance). It was a bit frustrating to see soooo many oportunities lost in both matches, with unforced errors or tactical mistakes as they could have taken at list one of those matches, but this is what happens with lack of match play, specially against top teams. As for Hsieh and Mertens, i see everyone giving the credit to Hsieh on this match and yes we all LOVE Hsieh who is one of my fave´s in both the male or female tour, but the best player on court, head and shoulders above the other three was Mertens. Boy she started serving in a Serene like league, and was blasting her returns with so power and precision that Fichman and Olmos where allways looking for strategies on how to avoid her at all costs. Fichman and Hsieh services where the most fragile ones but it was the higher seeded couple who took the oportunities in both sets. Still, great GREAT show with very entertaining points and high energy from the crowd.
Was really nervous there in the beginning x.x but amazing match and great tennis!

I got to say I've been enjoying doubles lately. It's more exciting to me compared to the singles matches. There are a lot of good teams and they seem to be all equal. I hope it gets half of the attention singles does in the Grand Slams.
Can't agree more. Look at the prize money, I sometimes feel bad for tennis players who only play doubles.

Mertens is so lucky to have Hsieh as a partner and Mertens served well today and great power on those ground strokes!

Mertens Hsieh aren’t so effective. Both of them lack power especially against big hitters, they gonna be in trouble... hsieh shld get a big hitter to play with her, just like peng shuai in the past. Much more effective pairing.
They are Wimbledon champ and many GS titles in their heads.
