you already love Ted in the first episode but by the grace of whatever you believe, he does the impossible and you love him even more each new episode, even when you think it cant be done

Arthur Daley played by George Cole was the finest Comedy/Drama performance by any UK Actor and that was in 120 episodes. Watch ANY clip , at random,to realise this..

I still have fond memories of 25th March 1967 just the odd 56+ years ago, rolling down the grass bank that was The Whitehorse Lane End when my Millwall scored the winning goal in a 2/1 victory. lol Ironically, today I attend my 1,778th much(mostly Millwall) at QPR, which is my first league away game since 1998!

You're right that it's very tropey, and you're not wrong to call out all the obvious sports tropes, but I think this show enjoys making allusions to things we've all seen. Tons more allusions in season 2 too, from old silent films to rom-coms to broadway musicals. So all those sports tropes are them playing with the underdog sports story archetype.
Can't wait for more Ted Lasso! What level do I have to subscribe to on Patreon do get a full watch along? Love y'all's reactions, but was wondering if you could hook up mics at some point? I have horrible hearing, and it's hard to make out everything you're saying. Even headphones with a mic would help. Thanks for the awesome content 👍
No, the husband has no stake in the team anymore. He lost his ownership in the divorce settlement and this is nothing more than a classic case of "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". It's the equivalent of her putting his cat in the microwave or selling his priceless car for $5. She doesn't care one bit about the team and it's costing her next to nothing to burn it to the ground just to get back at him. Now let's see if Ted's incredibly good nature can change her attitude...

Bill Lawrence, who created Scrubs, is one of the creators of this show.
Braff also wrote and directed "Garden State" which is a tremendous movie.

Roy Kent is the best tv character ever done, in drama or comedy. Brett's range is gorgeous and the fact that he's one of the writers is amazing.
