Iam Filipino🇵🇭a country in Asia and our country was colonized by Spain, so we have Latino culture. However i aware that Latin country/Italy has huge Hellenic/Greek cultural sphere influence that absorb. Thats why i have a space for love of Greece in my heart. In my city we have greek architecture building like ionic and doric columns, in our school we learning greek mythology, greek mathematics scientific methods

Νομίζω πως στο διάβα της Ιστορίας, δεν υπήρξε άλλος λαός με τόσο βαριά ιστορία, με την μαθηματικότερη κι αρτιότερη γλώσσα, με δύναμη ψυχής άλλοτε να κατανικήσει πολύ υπεράριθμους εισβολείς, κι άλλοτε να ξεπεράσει και να μπολιάσει μακρόχρονους κατακτητές και αλλότριους πολιτισμούς. These problems are also visible in England too. We have corruption and societal division. I only mention this so that those that have not lived away from Greece can know they’re not alone. There’s a lot of corruption here too. National pride is ok if it is shallow but if it grows blindly it can corrupt absolutely.

Hellenic pride is not just confined to those that are Greek by birth, ancestry, geography, etc. There are many people worldwide who love and appreciate what ancient Greece has given the world through it's art, music, politics/Democracy, philosophy, etc., which have shaped the world in many ways today. I know both plenty of Greeks who are proud of their heritage and history, and plenty of non-Greeks that love and appreciate Hellas, and it's past and present! And the food, beaches, and natural beauty of the country...... legendary!

Είναι περήφανοι για την ιστορία τους, τον πολιτισμό, την γλώσσα και την παράδοσή τους, που είναι ξεχωριστή και έχει καταφέρει να διατηρηθεί για χιλιετίες. All news organizations and media are directly controlled by the government and are strictly prohibited from private involvement.Thus supervision and criticism of the government almost do not exist in China. All literary and artistic works are subject to censorship without any clear rules. The military is loyal only to the party and not the country. Our president Xi Jinping who came to power through his bloodline, amended the constitution a few years ago to remove presidential term limits, and no one dares to say no to this. Now he begins his 3rd term. During his tenure, he engaged in nepotism, excluded dissenters, promoted his personality worship everywhere, destroyed many industries and caused gread damage to China's economy. Δυστυχώς ή ευτυχώς, έφυγα από την Ελλάδα όταν ήμουν 12 χρονων και έζησα στην Τσεχία και τώρα στην Αμερική. Είμαι περήφανη για την ιστορία και το παρελθόν της χώρας μου και μου λείπει πολύ η Ελλάδα, αλλά δε ξέρω αν θα μπορούσα να γυρίσω πίσω για μόνιμα. Βλέπω τι περνάει ο κόσμος καθημερινά, την ανικανότητα της κυβέρνησης και την απάθεια μερικών άλλων. Έχουμε μια πανέμορφη χώρα με πλούσια ιστορία και αντί να βαδίζουμε στα χνάρια των προγόνων μας, πάμε διακόσια χρόνια πίσω. Πιστεύω πως είναι φυσιολογικό να αγαπάμε τη χώρα μας, αλλά να βλέπουμε και τα κακά της, έτσι ώστε να μπορούμε να συμβάλλουμε στην αλλαγή της κατάστασης. Έχω ζήσει τη μισή μου ζωή στο εξωτερικό και πάντα νιώθω ένα κενό μέσα μου, γιατί όπως και να το κάνουμε, η Ελλάδα είναι κομμάτι όλων μας.

Την απολυτη περηφανεια για την Ελλαδα την ενιωσα το 2004 που διοργανωσαμε τους Ολυμπιακους Αγωνες.
Σε γενικο πλαισιο χαιρομαι που ειμαι Ελληνιδα,δεν θα το αλλαζα.
Σαφως το σημερα δεν ειναι ανταξιο του παρελθοντος αλλα η ζωη κανει κυκλους.

I can tell you as someone of Greek heritage whose Yia Yia moved to the UK, people in Greece should be incredibly proud of their country. I am still as a third generation immigrant here have a huge connection to Greece and I visit at least once a year and will get married there later this year. It's the most beautiful country, with amazing people, and incredible history. No country is perfect, but Greece feels like heaven whenever I visit.
Ο κυριος λογος που είμαι περήφανος που είμαι Έλληνας, ειναι η γλώσσα μας. Θεωρω οτι ειναι μια απο τις ομορφοτερες γκωσσες , τοσο σε ακουστικο οσο και σε δομικό επίπεδο. Σπουδαζω ιατρική και ενα τεραστιο μερος της αγγλικης ορολογίας έχει ελληνική προέλευση. Τεράστιο μερος όμως. Εχω πραγματικο πλεονέκτημα σε σχεση πχ με εναν Σουηδό φοιτητη σε αυτον τον τομέα. Ειμαι περήφανος για την γλώσσα μας , γιατί την χρησιμοποιούμε ακόμα. Ενω για την ιστορία μας που σίγουρα μου προκαλεί περηφάνια, μου προκαλεί ταυτόχρονα και μια ντροπή που είμαι νεοέλληνας. Το ποσο σπουδαίο πολιτισμο διαμορφωσαν οι πρόγονοι μας και το πως άλλαξαν τον ρου της ιστορίας κανονικά πρεπει να μας προβληματίζει για την τωρινή μας κατάσταση. Ζω στο μερος που γεννήθηκε η δημοκρατία αλλα εχω μια κυβερνηση που πχ με υποκλοπές την υποβαθμίζει. Οπότε γιατί να νιωσω περήφανος που οι πρόγονοι μου γεννησαν την δημοκρατία, όταν οι σύγχρονοι μου την υποτιμούν; Γιατί να νιωσω περήφανος για τα σπουδαία μυαλα που εχει γεννησει αυτη η χωρα , την ιδια στιγμή που σημερα , τα σπουδαια μυαλα που δημιουργεί, τα ωθεί να την εγκαταλείψουν;
Έχουμε καθε λογο να είμαστε περήφανοι για την ταυτότητα μας. Ειναι ιδιαίτερη και όμορφη. Απλα αυτη η περηφάνια εχει ουσια μονο οταν την χρησιμοποιεις ως εμπνευση για το τι μπορεις να πετύχεις. Πως ως Έλληνες, μπορούμε να διαμορφώσουμε παλι μια κοινωνία που θα προσφέρει σε αυτον τον κόσμο. Αν αυτη η περηφάνια ειναι για να είχαμε να λέγαμε, τοτε ειναι κενού περιεχομένου για μένα.

People are generally fond of our history and culture, but when it comes to the present day modern country, most people wouldn't say they like it at all.
I wouldn't say we have many patriots at all. And patriotism and nationalism are often frowned upon because they sound fascist to most people, since these ideals were the very core of the dictatorship that we had in the XX century.
Personally I am proud of my country and I'd love to see it recover its prestige in a way, and I'd like it to progress in civil rights of which we're lagging behind most of Europe.
I am proud to be (half) Greek in a similar way that I am proud to be human... yes we have many accomplishments as a whole, but what is my part individually? Can I be proud of my luck of birth? I could have been any nationality or any species even... but what will I do with it? How can the greatness (and mistakes) of our ancestors inspire us all to do bettter? I am simply wondering at this point but maybe through the continual questioning and pondering we find new answers to inspire ourselves further. Enjoy your journeys, and remember we are all family and can accomplish more together!
The video gives a slightly skewed view of the general mindset that Greeks have. Also the majority of these people (not all) seem to be more left than right leaning. That heavily influences their answers and feelings... I would urge you make a video asking their political and ideological affiliation before them answering the question of how proud they are. Patriotism for Greeks is not about defending the rotten political system, but for the majority of Greeks it's about defending, loving the homeland, culture, traditions/values, and Orthodoxy. That's not backward but the very reason why Greece still exists today.
political preferences have nothing to do with pride. Pride has only to do with personal achievements. There is no reason to be proud because of a fact that is independent from my action. If a Greek poet wins a prize, then I am happy because this fact would maybe give me some advantage. But I can't be proud for that prize, unless I had helped the poet in some way to reach that result.

@@skg8904 I don't care about the right vs left paradigm myself, and i doubt that most young people are politically interested. But it wouldn't surprise me that most young people who are politically interested are leftists. Because leftist utopian ideologies are very appealing to young people. And it's not a coincidence, that most people become more conservative as they get older.

Obviously Greeks are very proud of their heritage and legacy of their nation. The interviews here are handpicked to present a somewhat bleak image of Greek self doubt, which I do not agree with. Yes Greece is not a Western European economic powerhouse, yes the country has had problems and made mistakes. Everybody has problems. Nevertheless our country is a beutiful, and peaceful place to live in, and it NEVER gets boring down here.
What makes you think the interviews were handpicked?
@@EasyGreekVideos Because the narrative is consistent for all Greek young people in the video. Not all young Greeks feel this way. Not all young Greeks are apathetic towards their country's legacy, and their country as a whole.

3:57 This guy’s right. Way too many people have an irrational attachment to a past that they’ve never experienced and to a people that they’ve never met and can never meet. The lives, thoughts, and desires of people from centuries or decades ago shouldn’t have a personal impact on you. There is no need to take pride in or be ashamed of their actions. They weren’t you and you aren’t them. They lived their own lives, forged their own paths, and they weren’t thinking about you. Right now, the only things that matter are the present and the future. Instead of taking pride in the actions of random people that are long dead, focus on improving the country or better yet, humanity, and then you can feel proud of yourself.

Greek Canadian here and anyone who says they aren't proud are uneducated. Nothing more, nothing less. Being Greek has made me proud my entire life. The question is not political, most of these people are confused. The only person I stand beside is the older gentleman. He has my sincerest thank you.
I wouldn’t call the speakers uneducated. Note that most people made a distinction between being proud of our past but not of our present. Greece is actually going through a huge brain drain - all the educated people are leaving or have long left, like one of the speakers.

@EasyGreekVideos let's face it, if being Greek doesn't make you proud, then nothing will. Greeks naturally like to complain, but if they lived somewhere like Afghanistan, I don't think they would be moaning all the time. I'd rather be a poor Greek than a rich person with no culture and history to be proud of.
I may not speak for all Greeks but I sure as hell know I speak for the majority.

I feel like a lot of people might be reluctant to answer freely because they fear that if they say they are proud of their country they might be percieved by some as "nationalists", which is completely false. You have the right to feel healthy pride for belonging in a country with such a long and inspiring history and you have the right to say it without concerns.
It's 100% not the case here, they 100% freely said their truth. One of my favourite things here in Greece is that we have democracy and say whatever we want!

You can tell by their speech that these two young guys have ties to far-leftist movements ,most likely Communist Youth of Greece or at least very influenced by the rhetoric of those.Indoctrinated and parroting banalities such as "you don't get to choose were you are born" which is a funny take because these types usually present themselves as defenders of reason and scientific thought but here they seem to imply there's something metaphysical going on , do they believe in the existence of souls I wonder?and that souls choose bodies?If not ,then there's no possibility for you/them to had been born as anything else ,you are the product of I don't know ,centillion events?that had to happen at the right time and place.The only thing close to them not being born Greek is their parents migrating somewhere else after they were conceived in which case they could in theory say they are (anything else zero chances) Germans ,Australians or Americans (which is not common for first generation Greek immigrants)but in either case they'd have knowledge of Greek origin ,speak Greek etc.In reality these guys suffer from low self-esteem and that is projected in a type of masochistic "I don't deserve to be proud" mentality that is hidden under a rationalist and modest appearance.Many of those answers are sad actually.Now do I say be arrogant?no but you should be proud ,very proud about what you are.And it's not because of being Greek specifically ,every people in the world should be very proud about who they are.

Το παρόν δεν είναι τα τελευταία 10-20 χρόνια ... όταν μιλάμε για την ιστορία μιας χώρας. Ιδιαίτερα μιας χώρας που υπάρχει χιλιάδες χρόνια . Να θυμίσω οτι στα νεότερη ιστορία της Ελλάδας, υπάρχουν ΠΑΡΑ πολλά πράγματα για τα οποία οι Έλληνες πρέπει να είναι υπερήφανοι. Από την απελεθερωση από την Τουρκοκρατία (ναι είναι νεότερη ιστορία γιατί μιλάμε για χώρα), μέχρι την αντίσταση κατά των Ναζί και την απελεύθερωση από την Γερμανική κατοχή, η δε συμβολή των Ελλήνων στον Β' Παγκόσμιο πόλεμο είναι διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένη (πολλοί άνθρωποι που ήταν παιδιά τότε, ζουν ακόμη), η πτώση της δικατορίας το 1974, η ανάκαμψη της χώρας μετά τον εμφύλιο. Αλλά και επιστημονικά και πολιτιστικά η Ελλάδα έχει συμβάλλει διεθνώς στην πρόσφατη ιστορία της: Παπανικολάου - Test pap, Καραθεοδωρή- Μαθηματικός, Δασκαλάκης - Μαθηματικός, Πισσαρίδης - Οικονομολόγος κ.α. ' Αν και πληθυσμιακά οι Έλληνες αποτελούν λιγότερο από το 0,2% του παγκόσμιου πληθυσμού, ανάμεσα στους κορυφαίους επιστήμονες το ποσοστό των Ελλήνων πλησιάζει το 3%'. Φυσικά δεν μπορούμε να παραλείψουμε τους Νομπελίστες Σεφέρη και Ελύτη, ους βραβευμένους με Oσκαρ Παξινού, Χατζιδάκι, Γαβρά, Παπαθανασίου, Λάνθιμο, αθλητές διεθνούς βελινεκούς κτλ. Όλα αυτά και πολλά άλλα αφορούν την σύχρονη Ελλάδα και δεν είναι καθόλου λίγα για μια χώρα με τον πληθυσμό και την οικονομίας της Ελλάδας, που έχει έρθει αντιμέτωπη με τόσες προκλήσεις, σε σύντομο χρονικό διάστημα. Άλλοι στην θέση μας άκόμη θα πάλευαν να σηκώσουν κεφάλι. Η Ελλάδα ήταν και είναι μεγάλη και πρέπει να είμαστε υπερήφανοι. Αυτό δεν σημαίνει πως είμαστε υπερόπτες ή πως δεν πρέπει να βελτιώσουμε τα πολλά λάθη που διαχρονικά κάνουμε. Αλλά δεν πρέπει και να κάνουμε το λάθος να εκμηδενίζουμε την πορεία της σύχρονης Ελλάδας. Εξαλλου ποιά χώρα μπορεί σήμερα να συγκριθεί με τα επιτεύγματα της Αρχαίας Ελλάδας; Mάλλον καμία.
Το παρόν θα έλεγα πως, εξ ορισμού, είναι τα τελευταία χρόνια. Βλέπουμε στην Ελλάδα μια υπαρκτή περηφάνια για την ιστορία, αλλά όχι για τη σημερινή Ελλάδα, όποτε αυτός ο διαχωρισμός είναι σημαντικός. Caring about the achievements of individuals or decades or centuries ago may seem irrelevant next to present-day reality for some people, especially when there's a feeling that there's nothing to feel proud of nowadays. Ofcourse they seem irrelevant because none is cultivating the sense of national cencus and the bringing the society together so we can all achieve great things as one. That feeling of nothing to be proud stems from the inability to comprehend a history book. I understand you are not taking a position it the honorable thing to do as an interviewer, in matter of fact if more journos were like you some stuff might be better. Βλέπω ότι Έλληνες έχει δύσκολα για πολλές χρόνες. Πολύ καλά απαντήσεις. Είμαι Καναδικός και δεν περιφανή της Καναδά ούτε αλλά να το πιστεύουμε το αντίθετο είναι λάθος.
Είμαι πολύ περήφανος όπως κάθε άνθρωπος πρέπει να είναι περήφανος για την κληρονομιά του. Η χώρα μας παρήγαγε κάποια από τα μεγαλύτερα πολιτιστικά κειμήλια που με την κλασική και διαχρονική τους αξία αποτέλεσαν θεμελιώδεις αξίες για τον νεότερο κοσμο. Διαφωνώ όμως πολύ με αυτο που υποθηκε κατά επανάληψη στο βίντεο. Δεν ισχυει ότι η χώρα σημερα είναι χειρότερη από τις μεγάλες ιστορικές της περιόδους. Τουναντίον, ακολουθήσαμε μαζί με την υπόλοιπη ανθρωπότητα την εξέλιξη του πολιτισμού και σήμερα η Ελλάδα έχει ένα πληθυσμό που καθολικά είναι εγγράμματος και ζει σε δημοκρατικό πολίτευμα (όπως μόνο οι κάτοικοι μερικών μονο πόλεων όπως η Αθήνα απολάμβαναν στον αρχαιότητα), είναι ειρηνική όπως ιστορικά θα λέγαμε στην Παξ Ρομάνα αλλά είναι ανεξάρτητο κράτος, είναι ενοποιημένη όπως προσπάθησαν ανεπιτυχώς οι αρχαίες πόλεις να γίνουν δια της ηγεμονίας της μιας επί των αλλων, στο δε Βυζαντιο που επιτευχθεί η ενότητα έγινε στο πλαίσιο μιας τυπικα έστω απόλυτης μοναρχίας, ενώ, τώρα πραγματοποιείται η ένωση επί αρχών δημοκρατικης ισοπολιτείας, η δουλεία ως θεσμός έχει καταργηθεί, τα ατομικά δικαιώματα είναι πιο ισχυρά πάρα ποτέ, το κράτος δικαίου είναι πιο ισχυρό πάρα ποτέ στην ελληνική ιστορια και -αυτο που θα ξενίσει πιο πολυ- είμαστε ίσως και πλούσιοι τον τελευταίο αιώνα στην Ελλάδα παρά ποτέ για τον απλούστατο λόγο ότι ζούμε σε έναν βιομηχανοποιημένο νεότερο πολιτισμό. Όσοι πιστεύουν ότι το παρελθόν ήταν ένδοξο και το παρόν επαίσχυντο απλώς δεν ξέρουν ιστορία. Κάθε εποχή είχε τρομερά αρνητικά στοιχεία αλλά και προτερήματα. Η δική μας αντικειμενικά σε απόλυτες τιμές έχει τα περισσότερα όλων και όχι μόνο στην Ελλάδα άλλου σχεδόν παντού στον κόσμο. Απλώς σήμερα οι Έλληνες δεν είμαστε επηρεαστικοι. Δεν είμαστε κέντρο παραγωγής νέων πραγμάτων. Κινούμαστε μαζί με τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο που εμπνέεται από εξελίξεις κυρίως στις ΗΠΑ ή χώρες της Δυτικής Ευρώπης και λιγότερο της Άπω Ανατολής. Με τα προβλήματα μας και τα κωλύματα που ναι μεν, είναι μεγάλα αλλά ειλικρινά πολύ μικρά εν συγκρίσει με το παρελθόν. Ακόμα και αυτού του είδους ο αφορισμός "η σημερινη κατασταση είναι δυστοπικη και απογοητευτικη" ακόμα και αυτή από το εξωτερικό έρχεται στην πραγματικότητα. Μιμουμαστε το γενικό κύμα απαξίωσης που κυριαρχεί σε πολλές δυτικές κοινωνίες σήμερα. Και όσο σε αυτές τις χώρες κυριαρχούσε υπέρμετρος πατριωτισμός που ενίοτε διολισθηνε προς σκληρό εθνικισμό ακόμα δυστυχώς δηλαδή, και εμείς εδώ έτσι ημασταν. Δεν μας κοίτα ο κόσμος πλέον ναι. Δεν μας θεωρούν πρότυπο ούτε αναφέρονται σε μας συχνά. Αλλά δεν είναι αυτό το ζητούμενο. Το ζητούμενο να προχωράμε. Προχωρούμε προς το μέλλον σε μια μακρά σειρά, μια σκυταλοδρομία πάτρος προς υιό και μητρός προς θυγατέρα, σε μια σειρά που ελπίζουμε να κρατήσει εις αεί. Και πρέπει να κρατήσει και εναποτίθεται σε εμάς να κρατήσει. Έχουμε θετικά αλλά προβλήματα υπάρχουν μεγάλα Αν οι Έλληνες θέλουμε να βελτιωθούμε πρέπει να περιορίσουμε πιστεύω αυτό το κύμα του μηδενισμού το οποία απλώς γεννά απαξίωση και η απαξίωση αδιαφορία. Θέλουμε σκληρή δουλειά και έμπνευση. Το παρελθόν μπορεί να μας δώσει έμπνευση και αγάπη να συνεχίσουμε. Αλλά χρειάζεται και ευγνωμοσύνη για ότι έχουμε ήδη. Όσοι παρουσιάζουν την Ελλάδα ως δυστοπία ξεχνούν ότι οι συντριπτική πλειοψηφία των χωρών στον κόσμο είναι λιγότερο ανεπτυγμένες, λιγότερο ελεύθερες και ναι όσο και αν φαίνεται παράξενο και λιγότερο πλούσιες. Θέλουμε ευγωμοσυνη, πρακτικότητα, σοβαρότητα, μετριοπάθεια, συνετή αλλά δραστήρια στάση και υπέρβαση των μικροπρεπειων του καθενός μας. Και κυρίως σκληρη και πολύ δουλειά. Αυτό πιστεύω. Και βαθειά μες την καρδιά μου αλλά και έξω ανοιχτά δεν διστάζω να το φωνάξω: Ειμαι περήφανος για τη χώρα μου και την αγαπώ!

I'm proud for the good and the bad, because both of them made me who I am.
I'm proud that we have peace and democracy for the last 50 years.
I'm proud of being part of EU, of putting aside old grunges and creating a peaceful continent, because my generation was part of it.
I'm proud that we can say "I'm not proud" and no one shames us for that. We can discuss, disagree and live together. I'm proud that we have a culture of individuality since ancient times till now and we don't feel the need to conform in social norms.

έξυπνο το σημερινό θέμα, αλλά εμπεριέχει μια παγίδα: Κάποιος είναι υπερήφανος για κάτι που έχει καταφέρει με κόπο να είναι ή να έχει. Η χώρα που γεννήθηκε ή η καταγωγή των γονέων, μπορεί να αποτελούν πλεονέκτημα σε μερικές περιπτώσεις, αλλά δεν είναι λόγοι για να είναι κάποιος υπερήφανος.

@@kosdas Καθένας μας έχει μιά καταγωγή. Πχ άλλη υπερηφάνεια νοιώθεις όταν έχεις άξιους γονείς, και άλλη όταν δεν έχεις κάτι να επαίρεσαι για αυτούς. Τόσο απλά. Το τι θα κάνουμε από εδώ και πέρα με την ΚΛΗΡΟΝΟΜΙΑ βαρειά ή ελαφριά ,που κουβαλάμε, είναι υποθεση συλλογική, ιστορική αλλά και ατομική. About the reasons that someone can't be proud... I think that people of their era hate their era. And respectively, as time goes by, the past is more remembered upon is greater than the present. It's not exclusive to Greeks. It happens with all civilisations, in all phases.
Στην ερώτηση για το αν έχει νόημα να είναι κανείς υπερήφανος για την πατρίδα του (πολύ καλή η συγκεκριμένη), θα έλεγα όχι - για σημασιολογικό λόγο. Νομίζω ότι η υπερηφάνεια σαν συναίσθημα αρμόζει και περιγράφει καλύτερα επιτεύγματα και γενικότερα μια ενεργητική στάση από το άτομο, κάτι που έγινε σκόπιμα, με προσπάθεια. Το ότι γεννήθηκε κάποιος ή κάποια Έλληνας/ίδα ή όχι είναι πέρα του ελέγχου του/της - δεν διαλέγουμε που και τι θα γεννηθούμε. Πιστεύω ότι αν θέλουμε να πούμε ότι νιώθουμε κάτι θετικό για την εθνικότητά μας, την ιστορία μας, τον πολιτισμό κτλ. είναι καλύτερο να χρησιμοποιήσουμε τη λέξη "τιμή" που αποδίδει πιο σωστά το νόημα για κάτι αξιόλογο που όμως δεν υπάγεται στον άμεσο έλεγχό μας.

Κάποιοι ντρέπονται να πουν ότι είναι υπερήφανοι...γιατί τελευταία συγχέεται η εθνική υπερηφάνεια με τον εθνικισμό. My great grandfather was enslaved by the Ottoman Turks for a very long time. When he was finally let free he went to walk from Turkey to Greece. Δε λέω ούτε ότι είμαι περήφανος ούτε ότι νιώθω άσχημα με το ότι γεννήθηκα Έλληνας. Μάλλον νιώθω ευχαριστημένος που ζω σε μια χώρα που έχει ικανοποιητικό επίπεδο ζωής, ευγενικούς ανθρώπους και όμορφες τοποθεσίες να δει κανείς.

Εχεις μπερδεψει λιγο τις ερωτησεις, αλλο πραγμα ειναι η ερωτηση εαν εισαι υπερηφανος που εισαι Ελληνας και αλλο η ερωτηση εαν εισαι υπερηφανος για την σημερινή κατάσταση της Ελλάδας ως κράτος και όχι ως πατρίδα !
Το σκέφτηκα κι εγώ, αλλά τελικά δεν κατάφερα να βρω την πραγματική διαφορά μεταξύ αυτών των δύο. Στο βίντεο μιλάνε πάντως και για τα δύο.

Είναι αλήθεια ότι δεν υπάρχει η συνέχεια αυτού του σπουδαίου έθνους που μεγαλούργησε κ προσέφερε τόσα σ αυτήν την ανθρωπότητα. Αυτό όμως δε σημαίνει ότι θα πρέπει να αφήσουμε να ξεχαστεί αυτή η κληρονομιά κ θα πρέπει να την προστατέψουμε. Να αποδεικνύουμε ο καθένας απ το δικό του πόστο ότι…δεν ξοφλήσαμε ακόμη. Δεν αρκεί να λες δεν είμαι υπερήφανος για τη χώρα μου σήμερα. Πρέπει κ εσυ να κινητοποιηθείς πρέπει κ εσυ να προσφέρεις. Οι απαντήσεις που ακούστηκαν (της νεολαίας ειδικά) δείχνουν ένα τραγικό επίπεδο λαού που αδιαφορεί, που δεν έχει εθνική συνείδηση κ δεν τον ενδιαφέρει αν θα υπάρχει Ελλάδα σε 100 χρόνια. Κάποιοι έδωσαν τη ζωή τους γ αυτα τα χώματα κ αυτό θα πρέπει να αποτελεί κίνητρο για εμάς. Αν νιώθετε οτι το να σαι Έλληνας είναι ένα τυχαίο γεγονός….να το κλείσουμε το μαγαζάκι, να δώσουμε το Αιγαίο κ τη Θράκη στους Τούρκους, την (ελεύθερη) Ήπειρο στην Αλβανία κ να τελειώνουμε αν δεν υπάρχει τπτ μέσα μας… ΕΙΜΑΣΤΕ ΥΠΕΡΗΦΑΝΟΙ που είμαστε Έλληνες (ναι γ αυτό το τυχαίο γεγονός) κ δεν πρέπει να επαναπαυόμαστε στις δάφνες του παρελθόντος. Πρέπει να παραδώσουμε μια ΚΑΛΥΤΕΡΗ Ελλάδα. Δε θα την φτιάξουν οι πολιτικοί αυτή τη χώρα κ μην περιμένετε τπτ απ αυτούς κοιτάτε εσείς τι θα κάνετε.

I can' understand why one person must be proud of his country. It's only an accident.
On person can be proud of what this paerson make by himself.
So, neither yes nor not
We are not in this world only as individuals. We form societies. Societies that each contribute in a different way on human's history and knowledge. A society isn't just a bunch of people. Because the bunch of people actually make a different impact than the accumulative impacts of the individuals. And if this impact is worth noting for , then someone can be proud about it.

I am a Greek and i am absolutely NOT proud. The history belongs to the past, and the ancient history is NOT us, we belong to the present. What we are now refrects on how the whole Greek society works nowadays. And sadly Greek society is completely lost in the pride of the past great years. But what about now? I cannot be sure to take a train line from Athens to Thessaloniki and believe i would safely reach my destination. I cannot be sure that even having two jobs, i would be able to cover my monthly costs. I don't see myself staying here. I would gladly move out when i get the chance. Sorry Greece, but i might love you more if i am away from you. And that's sad...

Young people not being proud of their country is pretty pathetic. Sadly it takes someone bombing or attacking yours to feel some sense of pride. This generation of new people suck.
It's pathetic and illogical to feel proud for anything that you didn't achieve yourself or helped being achieved in some way. If you feel pride for something someone else accomplished sometime in the past, you are doing something wrong. The correct feeling is "lucky" and possibly "grateful". You were lucky (or maybe unlucky) to have been born of X or Y nationality. Do you also feel "proud" for the invention of telephone, football, the internet etc or is it too hard to see the similarity?
Being bombed or attacked as an argument to feel "pride", while living in the 21st century is third-world country mentality. People with little to no education tend to go that route, because violence is a tendency they have not learned to hold back. Being "proud" of one's random nationality and for things one never achieved themselves or helped/participated in being achieved, is one of the reasons we had a world war. Failing to realize that doesn't make "new people suck", it makes you look like a clown instead

We Greeks hate your country from ancient times. There been always a civil war among us and it still exists. That's a part of our culture, an important part that noone speak about. In my view, it's the key of our success but also the reason of our misery.

Being proud of your achievements makes sense. Being proud of things that other people did is plain stupidity. Just because you happened to be born in the same geographical space as the ancient greeks, does not mean that you should be proud of their achievements. This should be obvious to everyone. Have watched DNA heritage tests? All Turkish are mixed, and basically there isn't "Turkish "DNA. I m referring to official tests. On the contrary the majority of Greeks share more than 50% Greek DNA, a lot of Turkish, Albanian, Bulgarian and South Italian also share high percentage of Greek DNA. You can check this out.

sorry friend but there was never turkish DNA. Even todays turks have Greek Armenian and Arab DNA. Check the dna tests of the turks
