    Awesome work putting this together.
I went from a R5 3600 to a R7 5800X3D with the same RTX 3070 and Valve Index. The difference it had in VR for me was insane.

finally someone makes cpu vr benchmarks properly in 4k, gush , thats what we need more of, i wish we get a 5800x3d vs 7800x3d vs intel's best in DCS vr 4k + quad views (the cpu's killer), thu it'll require some mission editor work , to like place 200 ai assets to really test which cpu is better , anyway good job keep it up !! (subscribe guys, she is it!!)

Thanks for including VR benchmarks. Would love to see more, such as MSFS and also something like Cyberpunk (both in VR).

5800x3d is an excellent option for a drop in upgrade for older systems. Would be very interesting to see how it did in other virtual world games like secondlife, since that is horribly cpu bound.
Ryzen 7000 series really is worth the upgrade though, since it gives you the gaming performance of the x3d along with productivity boosts that match the gaming performance and the platform is just worlds better. 4 gen 4 m.2 slots on many boards with future gen 5 m.2 drives coming out, ddr5 while expensive is pretty nice etc.

Seems this 3D-cache-thing is the future! My PC runs a Ryzen 2200G btw., and I'm still happy with it.

Amazing video! If VR is your niche then you should focus on 1440p - 4k, as headsets tend to run in this range (depending on resolution/upscaling); and include at least 1% and maybe 0.1% lows, as I think these are most important for VR, as these values should be above 45/60/90/120 (depending on spacewarp/headset target fps). Thanks again

And more vr game please. I have a 5900x and I'm so on the fence about selling it and picking up a 5700x3D on aliexpress

Thank you very much for also testing VR!:) just FYI half life alyx automatically adapts the resolution as well as details settings depending on your current fps in a scene. Therefore it is not a good benchmark as almost every hardware gets good (if not sometimes even the exact same) performance but with a different image quality.
    Have a nice week!:)

    Happy to see you again!
Ohh nice comparison, I recently got a R5 5600G, I knew it was faster than my previous R5 2600, more along the lines of the R5 3600, but much slower than the R5 5600 but I really wanted to have an APU as a fall back just in case my GPU bite the dust, I will definitely get a second CPU in January and retire of media server duties my old i5 3570, maybe I will use it to learn to setup a linux router.
    Happy holidays.
P.D. have you seen the lowest score in Cinebench R15 that Gordon Mah Ung got away from Dr. Ian Cutress, didn't you had a VIA CPU powered motherboard that would get a worse score and fit the bill?

    • @TechAmbr
      @TechAmbr  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah, the 5600G is kind of a cool little performance dark horse. I was surprised by it!
And yes, I've seen the "slowest PC" video, and I'm eyeing my weird Intel Atom boards that have PCIe...

Haven't seen anyone else terst 3d cache in VR, i'm buying 7800x3d and your video was major help. Kinda went with stupid logic if 5800x3d is awesome 7800x3d should be even better, since i have also 3080 this was spot on. Thank you and please do more VR benchmarks.

    Good work as usual.
My experience with Ryzen so far, I bought the 3600 for a build in 2020, never made it installed. Then 5600 in 2021, never got it installed as well.
Perhaps I shall try Intel for next purchase, but I do not trust their cores in backward-compatability.

Do you have any 3d slicing benchmarks? Most of my workload will be slicing files into gcode for 3dprinter.
