    I had same problem but fixed it easily - get some quick hitches for arms or the simpler way is to just turn your pins on the implements in instead of out. The stabilizer bars are too valuable to me compared to the turnbuckle. Thanks for the video

    Thanks! You saved me some headaches! I suspected that to be a problem on my old used '94 Honda 23 HP diesel with chain/turnbuckle sway links. They are very short and you have to pull the cotter and drop the clinch pin in order to adjust them. Only having it a few months and six different implements it came with, I walked around and measured all of them. The snow blower was 5" narrow so I turned the pin's inside-to out by just slipping two (longer)7/8"x 6 1/2" pins thru the U-channel connector so the arms are on the outside with the pins running all the way thru. Now all are within 1 1/8". No more adjusting! I hope that made sense, thanks for sharing your findings!

    Ok, I worked for a Kubota dealership for 4 years. Why didn't you just take the pins off the box blade and put them on the inside? Problem solved. You know how many times in 4 years I had to do that. So yah, simple fix to your problem. If the pins are welded well... they shouldn't be.

    Thanks for the video. Was thinking of these, but not now. I also like the idea of the fine adjustment the turnbuckles provide. My sway links don't have the forward locknuts on the turnbuckle, bought the tractor used. The rear, easier access, locknuts have worked fine by themselves for years.

    Hi Brad, I had to look to see where my adjustable stabilizers were mounted, because I haven't had this issue. On my B2650, they mounted them on the inside of the arms. Looking at the rear of your L series, you would have to do some modifications to make that happen. My are mounted on a plate just below the pto shaft and just above the tow hitch slot.

      You probably could work around it, but at that width, any slop in the arms could cause your tires to rub the stabilizers. I occasionally have the turnbuckles rub if the jam nut comes loose. Thanks for watching Ross!

      @@PineyGroveHomestead My L2501 has the ag tires (R1’s) which are somewhat narrower than your industrial tires. I also have wheel spacers added to mine which sets the stance out much wider . They may just work for me but without telescoping lower lift arms, I still see a whole lot of frustration trying to get hooked up to implements. I have that problem solved Brad style, with a 6 foot steel bar. Best method I have found yet.

  • @JCWren
    @JCWren 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have run into this exact problem just today. My L4701HST came with telescoping stabilizers. I've been using a Speeco Quick Hitch for everything so I hadn't run into this. Then I bought a Del Marino Flipper 186 flail mower, and I can't mount it because the arms don't have enough width. The Del Marino does come with a set of cat 2 quick hitch pins, but the Speeco is cat 1. This is nice because you don't need a set of $30 adapters for every implement you own. The hole for the hitch pins in the Del Marino are larger than a cat 1 pin, so there's no way to use a cat 1 quick hitch pin unless you want to weld up and re-drill the hole. The only solution I see at this point is using Pat's Quick Hitch. This will work, but then you need a top link extension or you lose 4" of length on the top link, and you may not be able to tilt the implement back far enough.

    Fortunately for me, my machine, a MX4700, which I converted over to the telescoping arms, is also offered in a turbocharged version, the MX5100 which is basically the same chassis which comes with the telescoping arms, so clearance was not a problem. I'm surprised the kit that supposedly fits your machine isn't marketed with the caution that clearance may be an issue.

    • @PineyGroveHomestead
      @PineyGroveHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      You've got a wider stance than the L-series. We could put on wheel spacers to solve this problem but that's just more money, mods and work! The engineers should have made them so you get at least the same clearance as the turnbuckles!

    This is exactly what happened to me-I have a L3400 and I do have the pats quick hitch on my arms. So, getting the implement on wasn't a problem as you don't have to spread the arms as wide, but when everything was attached and locked down, I only had a 1/4" of space at the most between the stabilizers and the Ag tires. Way to close for me. I did contact Neil at Messicks and he told me that Ag tires are a problem with the Kubotas for these stabilizers and I can return them. I felt bad though, as they would never be able to sell them again as they got a little scratched up and look slightly used from me trying to make them work......so if anybody needs a pair, I have them!

    Hey Brad, that can be frustrating. It's not a one size fits all, unfortunately . I have the L2501 same set up. I mentioned before I have the Pats Easy change, with the upgraded stabilizers. It works because it does need to go as wide as the outside cat 1 pin to attach since Pat's attaches to the pin underneath. Yeah, it's another investment, but i can't see myself going back to the turnbuckle .Another option is the Bora wheel spacer. We are both in Florida and flat ground, so I didn't go that route. Would you be able to find a telescoping stabilizer for your needs?

      I think they all are going to have the same clearance issues with our older implements. For what it costs to buy all new implements, we'll just use the old original turnbuckles. They work!

    put your pins on the inside of the box blade. That will solve it.

      Most of our other other implements are welded.

    That’s a major disappointment. The telescoping stabilizers have been my favorite upgrade on the BX.

      I was so excited about them, until I wasn't!! Turnbuckles for life!!

    Neil should modify the telescoping stabilizers so they'll open wide enough to hook up average width implements. You shouldn't have to spend more money buying other aftermarket parts to make them work. Neil should modify them, or refund your money.

      Messicks has a restocking fee so with shipping and restocking, it's not worth sending them back! More tractor videos here: th-cam.com/play/PLG5yS75HLzo3RVqEuA0f6IioXV6FtFhHW.html
