I can totally relate to you though I am not a govt employee. I was a below average + Bengali medium student, my relatives used to discourage/underestimate me by saying I won't achieve anything because I was studying in a Bengali medium school. I also thought myself unworthy of anything. However, I managed to score pretty decent rank in wbjee. Then completed b.tech from a private college with only 25k. Lost my father at 4th year of college. I was upset, hopeless, depressed and within 6 months I got placed in 3 MNCs, currently working for one. I know it's not a big deal but for me it was huge at that time as I was going through emotional/mental trauma. I consider all of these as my father's blessings. Really felt good to see average student's success. May you shine bright, stay blessed. We need more youtubers like you. Lots of love.
