    I can't count on all my fingers and toes with my eyes crossed till I see double how many times I've overhauled landy front axles of this type ... I still got a little bit of learning from this vid! Cracking job ... bring on the next one!

      You know how to convert from 10 spline to 24 spline in the diff?

      I don't tinker with diffs ... I just replace the whole unit, usually from Crown Diffs but they're still taking a break at the moment... why... are you planning to play as I'm happy to take a lesson in diff tech and final drive etc. etc.

    This is a great video covering so much and showing how it can be done using these methods and the correct tools. Landrover wanted over £650 just to replace the two swivel seals... i will be doing this job myself when next needed. Keep it up mate!

      flaskandsarnies thanks. as they say, " Land Rovers have been making mechanics out of their owners since 1948!"

    My long term project is to see if I can rebuild my 110 by using only the internet for assistance. These videos will certainly come in hand.

    Done it on my series and it seems much simpler on them. 6 bolts either side and whip out the half shaft with the wheels still on haha
    Also, any chance of videos for us series landy fans? Great vids btw

    well, how long did it take to get from 2:51 to 2:53? Might spend a bit of time on that procedure, eh?

    i have heard that the "cheats" way of doing a quick change is splitting the axle where the axle ends are bolted on, which gives just enough room to move everything sideways to get the diff clear so not having to remove everything, is this viable? what are the pitfalls,

    Hi, Could you do some videos on upgrading engines to meet current emission standards? thanks

    • @trailerfitter2
      @trailerfitter2  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn't be wise to bring an engine to meet Euro 6 standard if it is not designed for it. You know, all engine block principles are all the same but with diesel it the fuel and air system including the exhaust that are the workers to get the emissions down.
      Euro 6 stringent emissions are achieved by NOx treatment in the exhaust. Sorry to disappoint you but it would be both hugely expensive and impractical to try to engineer an engine for the latest emissions standards. Better to just go out and get one ie: Puma 2.2 Ford Duratorq engine with all the gubbing to fit if that is what is desired.

    can a discovery 24 spline diff fit into 110 county v8?

    • @trailerfitter2
      @trailerfitter2  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. In a nutshell. but you need to make sure the 110 county is also 24 spline half shafts.

      @@trailerfitter2 ,, I have a 5 cylinder inline Honda Inspire with a front differential transaxle. It is slamming when moving from park and louder in reverse. Mechanic said is the differential. Car drives great otherwise with smooth gear changing. What advice can you give is appreciated.
