I am wondering if it is possible to build a dual system drive using this kit. Example; a normal rear wheel drive car + a front electric drive using the kit. Kind of a custom hybrid.
That's literally the point.
This is Orbis system kind of tempting as a solution considering how expensive EV's are in terms of the initial purchase cost. It's making me consider using a kit like this to replace my engine with battery packs and fit hub motors for the rear wheels. As long as they can recomend or provide a compatible charging kit that is relatively compact (possibly small enough to use the old fuel tank spacing) these kits could be quite a good way for those of us on a budget.
I’ve sent Orbis about 10 emails over the past 3+ years and have yet to ever get a reply if I could purchase them. If you manage to get a reply let me know lmao

I've got an old Ford Ka Sport rotting away, i kept it waiting for this day. On such a lightweight car this kit will be monstrous, all depends on the laws and cost though tbh.

I got the pure air pro LR it says it does 37.2 miles at 15.5mph i had it on the eco setting and was told with my weight 88kg i would get around 25 mile distance...that set alarm bell ringing. First charge i got 16 miles. 2nd charge almost 12 miles and both sessions was on flat ground. I ended up bringing it back to pure electric got my money back thank god. Been pure electric two times and both bad experience. Stay safe and keep pumping the tunes out. 👍👌 2nd Edit wish i had a friend like you with all the knowledge you know about modifying e bike etc.
I kinda wanna get two of those hub motors and put them on the front wheels of my older cobra… which I guess would make it all wheel drive. Even two 100 hp ones would give me 500+ hp.
Best part of video is that eltric bike. I remember you building that in stages and making videos on inproving and getting it registered. I didn't think you still had it. Well get that battery sorted let's see another video on that flying machine. If you ever sell it u will be first to buy can't see it but you never no like them wheels that light up its amazing progress on electrics what's the future going to be like I won't be around wish I had been born later. 0:30 as someone who had a hubmotor powered moped, I will say that it will be very unpleasant with bumpy rides since that's a lot of unsprung weight.
For the rest it's so good tho! super clean look & great torque numbers & less wear parts like belts & sprockets. so less noise

It's interesting in 4 years not 1 testimony evidence or upload from anyone around the world who' has been able to purchase this kit and convert there vehicle to an EV or hybrid , not 1 in 4 years.
I remember company's that promised a home generator and a university that offered a wheel hub design to change the future.
But there was never any updates or progress just requests for investor money and then they disappeared.
This reminds me of the same thing.

the issues i see with these hub motors are that if you put them on rear wheels of a fwd car the rear suspension is not design to handle anything like that if you look at your audi. look at the rear suspenion then look up rear suspension just of a fwd one its a big deference. Safety vise its a bad idea
That's not really how suspension works though...
They 3d scan the vehicle and engineer knuckles and suspension to support the electric wheel and brake hub
Yeah idk it seems like with good sensors and computer analysis then it will keep things within tolerance, i wouldn't expect it to be a super car without modification, but if that is the case, why not use a rear wheel drive platform or an awd one, eliminate the rear differential and the drive shaft and you've suddenly eliminated a bunch of weight that the suspension used to handle, maybe even causing problems with a lack of weight in the rear.
If that wheel can brake, it can also put down that 100nm of torgue with no problem at all.

I'm ready for the future where there's home built cars driving around, even if it's just a few of them. I heard once on the radio that car makers are only making like 500 dollars profit PER VEHICLE! IDK how true that is, but if it is true, just think of the kinds of cars we could have without dealer mark up. Sourcing materials then of course replaces the cost of dealers profit on the whole vehicle...

The motor and conversion hardware is all part of the wheels. So, It seems to me like the suspension needs to be beefed up to handle tork coming from the wheels to frame. The suspension is made for comfort and not power.
I think, I may, just maybe wanna buy a set of these whells put on my Mini Van cemper. A 2015 Toyota, Sienna. I can't justify it in the savings in gas. But on a camper and my hobby it may be just be right thing. The tongue weighed on my bumper hitches 350 pounds. I think that would , support a EV battery and two bikes.😊

My search led me to this video...quite interesting...i was thinking for front wheel driven gas cars why can't we add two electric motors to the rear wheels and here is a better idea with these wheels...I hope they can make them for Hyundais

I want to find out more about In-Wheel Hub motors. Can you share links and and examples or installers. The new C8 Hybrid is AWD the E Ray Why not convert all the Pickup trucks and Gas engine rear drive vehicles with front wheel Hub drives. Even if only for short drive time it wouuld help and be a step toward better options with out losing money and spend a fortune on a new car when Recharging stations are few and far between
I'm betting this kit would still be almost as much as a budget new car. I have an old mini pickup truck that might get converted to electric at some point in its life. The problem is, I don't want to spend several thousand dollars on a truck that's worth $800 at most. The IC engine in it right now produces about 110HP.
I also have a small car that could be electric if the right kit came along (hub motor would probably be required). It only needs about 80HP to match the IC engine in it.
You would think there would be sort of universal electric hub motors in various HP ranges that could be retrofitted to any vehicle. Like, 50hp hub motors would be great for most small cars. Get two of them to replace two wheels, remove the engine and trans and replace with lithium iron phosphate batteries and a controller and you should be set. Could have a 75HP and a 100HP hub motor for larger vehicles. No modern car needs more than about 200HP to do what a car needs to do. Mass produce the motors to get the price down. Mass produce the batteries to also get their price down.
what brand of cells went south in your hi power bike? Were they the liitokala cells?

Its a shame that they only sell to certified installers, I understand why but its still annoying. Installing hub motors is probably the easiest way to convert something so they should have a DIy option. I guess well just have to wait till another company makes a different product.

Cost prohibitive. Motor, custom suspension mount and brake apparatus will cost probably 10K per wheel at least.

i sawthis electric motor from hondajasonpro, i think that is the same honda they built the motor to, you were right instead of making new electric cars, why notconvert the cars you have and enjoy life. if you ran out of battery juice you still have the advantage of using the pertrol engine.

optimally you could fit the motor inside any wheel rim, modular, so that you dont have to change anything in the wheel or the connecting axle
metal-air (any reactive metal, like zinc, or iron) with ethanol-koh electrolyte, as the primary (but physically rechargeable) battery fuel cell, at least 1.2kWh/kg and up to 8.4kWh/kg
just feed more metal to get more juice out of the separate fuel cell, its like engine and the fuel source
if you dont make the cells yourself, its not truly diy
