Keep hearing good things about this game and for 10$ DLC included it seems like a steal.
Feel as though I'm going to regret having put it off for so long and think it's about time I finally give New Vegas a shot.
    Thank you for the review.

Somentimes I feel that when we don't like a game (a book, a movie) is because we're not in the right time of our lifes to play them. It happened to me with Dark Souls, I tried playing it back when it came out, and I didn't like it. Aftter sometime I heard about it again, and gave it another try. It's now one of my favorites games. I think is because I felt pretty overwhelmed with existential thoughts at the time, so Dark Souls worked as an escape and relaxing place. Just me, alone, against a world full of dangers and marvels; it gave me a purpose. I feel the same with fallout games, just walking in the wildernes and putting on some music from the radio. These games make you value loneliness but also people.
Thanks for making these videos, you're pretty good at review games and giving your honest opinion. I wish sucess to your channel.

As someone who played through Fallout 1 and 2 I adored Fallout New Vegas with how it felt more connected to what Fallout was to me personality. I saw Fallout 3 more as a spin-off took place on the other side of the USA with no connections to the lore, events and factions from the first two games. I really enjoyed Fallout 3 but Fallout New Vegas felt more like the Fallout 3 I wanted set on the West Coast with over a 100 years of lore build up around this location with factions I know and love but also new factions with themselves I felt had much more history built up behind them then any faction in Fallout 3 which felt far more primitive and New a less developed location which was an interesting idea but didn’t have the same charm as a tribal community for example like the Great Khans or a village like Shady Sands in Fallout 1 which had amazing sand architecture or Vault City from Fallout 2 which add this Star Trek retro futuristic look Fallout 3 just didn’t have interesting faction locations besides the Enclave.

I played FO1. I only played through it once unlike some people who played it over and over. Even for the 90s the controls and inventory system, or just figuring out how to use things was frustrating. The story and lore were awesome. I loved FO3. Some didn't like the Brotherhood being on the west coast, or that they were quite different. 100 years had passed though, so I didn't have that big of an issue with it. The super mutants didn't make much sense though.
I used to like FO3 more. After replaying FO3 and FNV recently I've given the edge to NV. My problems with it were never the story or the factions. On my first playthough 10 years ago there were so many bugs. Freezing, broken quests with 30lbs of items you couldn't drop, Scoped weapons not being usable due to graphic glitches. Anywhere you had to go on the strip was 2-4 loading screens and walking through lots of boring empty places.
I played all the DLC for fo3. I think I'm going to have to get it for NV now.

This popped up in my recommendations, nice video! Your DLC preferences match the majority of players if online polls are to be believed. I think if you play it multiple times it will change a bit. The jokes in OWB start getting old and the context of lonesome road becomes clearer.

@@Nekotomic I had just started Playing then your video got into my recommendations I put it into my watch later it was really nice game was Playing FO4 But it wasn't that appealing to me so I played Cyberpunk And Ugh It was Worse I mean after the main story ends its just a repeat cycle Of fetch kill or thief quests FNV Was my last call and god damn I love this game so damn much everything that I do matters in this game this game really clarify That you Don't need 8 years of time to make a perfect game unlike cyberpunk it got only 18 months to be made and it was way better than cyberpunk in every aspect (Other Than Graphics Ofcourse) hope we'll get New Vegas Remastered Or FO5 In New Vegas With All This old mechanics back! The game was good all and all thank you for making the video

I love Fallout NV so much. I played the game about 5 or 6 times now and every playthrough I always discovered something new (including new bugs lol). I had so much fun and really got immersed despite the dated graphics, some long empty roads, and the crashes. I can't wait to see what you think of Fallout 4 if you ever get a chance to play it, it comes second (almost tied with NV) to me as the best Fallout installment.

I played through New Vegas when it first came out. I'd played through FO3 several times and also played FO1 years before.
I loved FO3 and was expecting so much from New Vegas. Like you I was disappointed. For me the story wasn't the problem. There were some bugs that made some weapons useless and several times that I had to reload really old saves because quests broke. The big problem with the game I had was the emptiness. Just going to your room on the strip takes like 3 loading screens. Going to talk to the NCR at the dam or the airbase also included a lot of walking and loading screens, all for areas that were mostly empty. It just made parts of the game feel like a chore. The game also gets way too easy once you've leveled up.
I recently replayed the game and all that stuff is still annoying, but it didn't bother me as much now.

    • @Nekotomic
      @Nekotomic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I understand, I still got frustrated with New Vegas from time to time because of the emptiness of the map and the amount of loading screens.
It's good that you managed to enjoy the game despite all that too!

@@ericstromberg6215 I replayed on Xbox one recently and have played through several times before. @@Nekotomic NCR has it flaws in the Mojave wastelands. Specially when creating many problems for the Courier to clean up, such as the powder gangsters, Nipton citizens being killed, the bitter spring assault.
The legion getting closer and closer to New Vegas and many more issues. But in my opinion, the Courier and the NCR is the only hope the Mojave has left against raiders, Mr. House, Caesar's Legion and the evil fractions.
The only solution is the NCR controling New Vegas and the strip in order to control, trade route and citizen protection or independent New Vegas, which will only bring more chaos and destruction without any order. Because too much freedom in the apocalyptic wasteland is a bad idea.
And I don't need to explain Caesar legion with their crazy Roman mentality complex, while also treating innocent women and children like slaves and "tools"😑😒. The NCR are the good side alternative for the Mojave Wastelands.
