    the only obsolete planes are the B737's since they are over sixty years old with hydraulic and mechanical pulleys and levelc cpntrol surfaces, the TU-214 are modern triplex fly-by-wire systems with all electronic displays, heavy duty, ideally to carry cargo and passengers at the same time without having to compromise like the A321's with having cargo bins as auxiliary fuel tanks also like the B737-MAX having to use the cargo hold to accomodate the 9 fuel tanks to " increase " their range sacrifizing cargo space in the process....

    I think the Tu-214 is still better than the Comac C919. It still uses more fuel, but it's only a small difference. Tu-214 fuel consumption is around 3.7 tons/hour. C919 about 3.5 tons/hour. However, the Tu-214 can accommodate 210 passengers, while the C919 only accommodates 168.

      C919 chỉ là sản phẩm lắp ráp từ các thành của nước ngoài, không được xem là máy bay do Trung Quốc tự sản xuất do vậy tương lai nó rất bấp bênh với tình hình căng thẳng chính trị chồng chéo hiện nay

    Let`s consider this fact: If Boeing is still messing around with a 60's cabin complete air frame and making updates with B 737 Family, changing engines and more security devices as well, there`s no reason why not to re start production with this TU 214, the closest in overall shape and pax capacity if we take a look to a defunct Boeing 757-200-300 counterpart . It`s time now to focus in this Tupolev, due to production chain is open right now, in order to replace the wester fleet of Airbus A 320 and all B 737 in service today.

    This is going to be one hell of a good aircraft. China and Russia should full their fleets with each others jets especially the TU-214 and C-929 wide body.

    the new Airbus A321 is now the same length as the Tu-214 and Boeing 757 .... which is quite ironic ... it seems the Tu-214 is the "right" size again ....

    Curious Russian rationality. The TU 214 is an obsolete model based on the TU204.
    The rationality would have been to put all the efforts on the production of the MC21 which is much more modern.
    The only reason that would explain this would be production problems of the MC21 and the urgent need for planes

    • @jackaboodf16
      @jackaboodf16 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's rather the politicians. Because the region that the TU-214 is built-in, it still has a factory and wants to employ people. I'm sure they lobbied to do this. Typical Russian corruption.

      The good news is that this is just the beginning of a production ramp up that will continue to grow as the demand for the aircraft increases. You can see that COMAC C919, despite getting Western components, has not been able to build 10 aircraft.

      I don't think 2 crew cockpit. I believe the design work is going on for the new avionics' suite. Possibly they need to modify the MS-21 cockpit to suit TU-214 config.

    The overall design is not obsolete. I would say only the cockpit and engines are 100% obsolete. The plane is also quite heavy. A new 2 pilot cockpit with fly-by-wire, better engines and using lighter composite materials where possible will make this plane one of the best in its class. UAC has already commissioned a team to create a strategic plan to modernize the Tu-214.

    • @Spirit-vlad
      @Spirit-vlad 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The 90a isn't obsolete it's in his 3rd gen fly by wire existed since it's creation contrary to b737 that's many don't know only the cockpit for 2 picrew is an easy fix when the work on ms21 will be finished

    • @Max_Da_G
      @Max_Da_G 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So basically re-design the whole plane. Bro, in order to incorporate the composites, one has to change a whole bunch of things. If you change the hydraulic to FBW then you change the balance of the plane and need to change things around again. PS-90A1 aren't obsolete at all. They provide the required thrust and are efficient ENOUGH for the purpose.
      So yea, what you are proposing means a largely-new airframe, full set of testing to get the FBW to work right, etc.
      FBW isn't necessarily a better choice either. Sometimes the good old-fashioned hydraulics are a more reliable choice. It sure doesn't get affected by sensor failure or computer failure. Nor can there be an external control take-over.

      @@Max_Da_G How do you define obsolete? IMO, a product that can't find a buyer in a free market is obsolete. Those engines are not competitive at all on the international market. The PD-14, PD-35 and PD-8 will be the first fairly competitive airplane engines Russia has produced in a very long time.
