As someone who also plays lots of flight sims I have to agree. The landscapes are beautiful, the mechanics of the game seem to just blend in perfectly for incredible immersion, the traffic behaves well, and what impressed me most is the random events. The random traffic stop or firefighters on the side of the road sometimes blew me away when I first saw it. I’m definitely going to be getting the game this weekend all because of this guy

This game has some incredible relaxing even partially meditational thing to it. You take a long route, with whatever truck, and just role along the different roads while listening to your favorite tracks or some online radio. Great way to calm down after a stressful day at work.
It's literally why I became a trucker last year. I was miserable at my job, but liked to unwind afterward by playing ETS2 & ATS. I quit my job in Feb 2021 and have been trucking for real ever since!

I’m going to make this journey one day. Absolutely love the game! If only, I had a better rig. I have never spent so much money on a ‘game’ ever in my life.

Since the map in ETS2 is in scale 1:19 this would take about 101,3 hours in real life but only when driving on land. That is about 4,5 days but only if you drive all the way without any rest (which would be impossible and dangerous so another 3 days in total for stops would be realistic here) and add another extra day for traffic jams and other disturbances that may occur along the trip. Time when driving on land would thus be 5,5 days in total. If we add the extra time for all the ferry trips (around 5 days) the total time from Al-Qa'im to Bolungarvik would be as followed: Time on the road: 5,5 days Rest: 3 days Ferry trips: 5 days Total: 13,5 days ≈ 14 days (2 weeks)

What is the best country for mostly city/country road driving? I hate the motorway driving. I know its inevitable but surely some countries have less of it than others like Germany and U.K.
@@Azza.10 If you wanna do road driving, You can set an option in the settings to change the preferred routing. Then it will only direct you with country roads. Its somewhere in gameplay

Myself and a few of the guys from BVAR Trucking VTC used to do this there and back every day but used to go through the secret roads at Fishguard and Porthmadog as well as going on up to Latakia to Cyprus then going on to Thesaloniki from there.
Turbo’s spooling sound is more louder when it reached iceland technically turbos will breath more intensely while the altitude increase or due to the temperature drop. So in should ETS team had tried to bring that much level of perfection. Kudos to the makers of this game💜

Fantastic. I’m normally a flight simmer but this looks very interesting and relaxing. As a newbie, I tried a demo version with just the keyboard and mouse. I’d like to take it to the next level with a steering wheel but don’t know which one to get. Any suggestions for a beginner?
I'd highly suggest getting the Logitech G29 steering wheel + pedals. For the true sim experience, I recommend buying a shifter too. But a steering wheel is a great start!
@@sknnrs The manual mechanics are great in this game. Not realising you actually have to let off the clutch right I just thought the manual was broken, lmao. I didn't expect them to put that much effort into what I assume a fraction of people use.
The only thing that would make this a bit more realistic is if you chose a 2 axle truck, and then get stuck at the side of the road in Iceland at the snowy section.

I’ve been using the same one I use for my PlayStation and it works perfectly well. I believe my model is the Thrustmaser T80 (Ferrari 458 model)
