You are so right... I have never heard this song by anyone else but I can't imagine anyone singing it any better than the irreplaceable Mills Brothers... they are terrific!
haunting music that is timeless. Great harmony and even better dance music. I heard it first when I was a kid and my parents and grandparents played their music. It holds such nice memories for me, as now I am the grandparent......And I still know good music when I hear it and this is it!!!!!!!!!!!
DONT BLAME ME: Ever since the lucky day I found you I hung around you just like a fool Falling head and heels in love Like a kid out of school My poor heart is in an awful state now But it's late now to call a halt So if I become a nuisance It's all your fault So don't blame me, for falling in love with you I'm under your spell, but how can I help it Don't blame me Can't you see, when you do the things that you do It's hard to conceal, the thrill that I'm feeling Don't blame me I can't help it, if that doggone moon way up above Makes me need, someone like you to love. Blame your kiss, as sweet as a kiss can be And blame all your charms, that melt in my arms But don't blame me SWEETHEARTS ON PARADE: Two by two, they go marching through, Sweethearts on parade I can't help crying as they pass me by Sweethearts on parade I'd love to join their fun But they bar me Cause it takes more than one To join their army How I pine just to fall inline With the sweethearts on parade Oh, two by two, they go marching through, Oh, sweethearts on parade Now I can't help crying as they pass me by Those sweethearts on parade How I'd love to join their fun But they bar me Cause it takes more than one To join their army How I pine (oh) just to fall inline With the sweethearts on parade I want to tell you, baby, how I pine just to fall inline With those sweethearts on parade

just one of the best mills brothers recordings-thanks
What a blend of sibling voices; their unique happy presentation ; is an attractive joy so slick & charismatic. Close harmony at a level their own
Great version, thanks for posting. This one really lets you appreciate that Norman Brown guitar.
Agreed. I'm a big fan of Norman Brown, and I especially love his intro on this tune.
perfect blending-thanks
My favorite mills song 😍
Only heard this sung ( Don't blame me ) by one other artist and that is Frank Ifield. But this is the best ever.
Oh,,,,,,,,,, my,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!
...those Sweet-hearts On Pa-rade...how I'd love to join their fun --- but they bar me...
DONT BLAME ME:
Ever since the lucky day I found you
I hung around you just like a fool
Falling head and heels in love
Like a kid out of school
My poor heart is in an awful state now
But it's late now to call a halt
So if I become a nuisance
It's all your fault
So don't blame me, for falling in love with you
I'm under your spell, but how can I help it
Don't blame me
Can't you see, when you do the things that you do
It's hard to conceal, the thrill that I'm feeling
Don't blame me
I can't help it, if that doggone moon way up above
Makes me need, someone like you to love.
Blame your kiss, as sweet as a kiss can be
And blame all your charms, that melt in my arms
But don't blame me
SWEETHEARTS ON PARADE:
Two by two, they go marching through,
Sweethearts on parade
I can't help crying as they pass me by
Sweethearts on parade
I'd love to join their fun
But they bar me
Cause it takes more than one
To join their army
How I pine just to fall inline
With the sweethearts on parade
Oh, two by two, they go marching through,
Oh, sweethearts on parade
Now I can't help crying as they pass me by
Those sweethearts on parade
How I'd love to join their fun
But they bar me
Cause it takes more than one
To join their army
How I pine (oh) just to fall inline
With the sweethearts on parade
I want to tell you, baby, how I pine just to fall inline
With those sweethearts on parade
Thanks for posting those great lyrics. One comment: In the intro, I believe it's "too late now to call a halt."
