Watching this game was an electric feeling. Jumping out to a 3-0 lead, seeing it disappear, then having Josh Bloom score with 21.7 seconds left had the roof of the Dow about blown off. Great win for the Spirit. My biggest problem was the way Dale Hunter and Sim's dad handled Sim getting ejected. He left his feet, lead with the elbow, followed through on the hit, and targeted the head. He clearly went out to hit someone. Pretty much a no brainer in my book. Congratulations Spirit, you did Saginaw proud.
@@alanwylie7207 I have no idea really. A lot of holes to fill and we do have some outstanding young talent coming back and some good players we have added this off-season. Anything is possible. Absolutely no one outside of Saginaw gave our guys a chance in this tournament though, so we shall see. Spirit are going to be fun to watch again this year.
Thanks a ton for the upload, Saginaw native and was at the semi final and final games, but glad i can watch the broadcast version back. easily the best game i've ever been to
7 months have passed and McCue is still laying in the Saginaw net - can somebody please let him know the game has been over for a long time now? Thanks.
???????? Where would you even think that Saginaw would be hosting again in 2026? First of all, the tournament rotates around so the OHL won't even get to host again until 2027. While Saginaw was a fantastic host team and certainly a deserving Memorial Cup Champion, it's not likely they will host again for at least 9 years if not more given it doesn't normally come back to a city right away.

Do you think they have a chance to repeat next year?

@@troyfoutch5124 I hope so. I really hope they can win the Ontario hockey league this year. Do you think they could make a run at the title?
@@alanwylie7207 It's anybody's guess, but as usual, all roads lead through London.
Thanks for posting these. I love watching junior hockey and this is the only way in the US. On TH-cam from people like you. Thanks!!

Nothing better than Cowan getting checked by Beck during the 1st period (29:21) 👏
So glad Spirit won this year!
as a Kitchener Ranger fan I am so happy to see the Saginaw Spirit win the Memorial Cup
Greatest moment in Saginaw Spirit franchise history

Simpson was a one man army in this game
If London played like the did in the later part would have won cup 3 but, saginaw played well in the tournament.
no to saginaw hosting again in 2026
