    Thank you for the WOC color analysis. I liked the idea of color analysis but struggled to find my place in it. Normally, WOC are cast into autumn or winter. But those didn't seem right to me. It wasn't until I read a blog post that typed Kerry Washington as a "Bright Spring" that it clicked for me. It explained why both pale pastels and warm, muted shades were "off" for me. Thank you again for these videos. I hope the women who watch them feel as affirmed as I do.

      Ah I'm so glad this helped you feel more resonance with the right colors! WOC are definitely more than just dark and deep autumns and winters!

      SAME! Kerry Washington brought it home for me.

    So many girls saying they were dark/deep autumn and realized they were spring! Yes! I used every app and article and came as dark/autumn but on the tests I did myself with the rainbow palette it was waaaay too obvious that my face would glow more with the spring one, the autumn absolutely emphasized my dark circles. So, if you as me and many here, had the same problem trying to really see if you are spring or autumn (since both are warm) just use that filter or app armocromia, and take a screenshot, and compare, your face with all the palettes. I swear it's SO obvious when you hit the right one. The hard part was finding someone who said that indeed, brown skin can be spring too 🎉😂 TY girl! It was a great videooo ❤

      This is me!! I'm still like is this real? The bright spring colours do scare me a little but omg did my face need a pop of colour!! The thing is the first thing people notice when they see my face is colour not dark/contrast which means I can't be dark autumn

    Yes! I knew it Spring is not just for blonde and redheads and fair skin types.

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Yes! There’s just no way these bright and warm colors can be limited to only fair colors when these shades are so prevalent in many traditional ethnic clothing!

      @@thealignedlover good point the bright spring colors are used magnificently in fabrics from Africa, India and Asia for example.

    Thank you! I’m glad these WOC videos aren’t limited to one or two which usually happens. I originally thought you were a Bright Spring so this was helpful to compare.

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes WOC are usually just told to wear dark and deep colors and there’s sooo much more subtlety to it!

    I went from thinking I was an dark autumn to a bright spring this year. It made me a bit sad at first but now I know that I can have a bright autumn and use that saturation to my advantage in photos 😁 bright witches do exist hehe

      Ah sorry I am a little confused as to what you mean by bright autumn!

    • @ac2055
      @ac2055 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I feel like dark autumn can be an alternative palette to bright spring for women of color bc we tend to have dark hair and eyes which creates contrast, esp if u want to go into dark colors for the fall.
      From warm/cool undertone, dark/light contrast, and clear/muted saturation, I would be warm + dark + clear.
      My dominant 2 attributes (in order) would be:
      1) warm
      2) clear
      which = Bright Spring
      But I would say my contrast is almost equally as dominant as my saturation, so if I take those two attributes:
      1) warm
      2) dark
      then = dark autumn
      From my wardrobe, both seem to work for me (or maybe for dark autumn I am just gravitating to the colors that overlap - bright red, bright orange?)
      The funny thing is that I gravitate more twds dark autumn instead of a season close to bright spring, even tho they use the same exact attributes, just in a different dominant order:
      1) clear
      2) warm
      = true spring

    Bright spring colors make me so nervous because I thought I was a dark autumn for so long. I also don't like standing out and most people wear dark or neutrals, but I wanna look good! So I'm adding my true colors one piece at a time until I become comfortable with it.

    Thank you so much! It's so nice for you to talk about this because I always get confused when people talk about what colors look best, they always say dark hair and dark eyes means you're probably dark winter or dark autumn maybe. I still don't know what I am but I'm fairly certain I'm not a winter at all!

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you 💕 and yes, there are so many possibilities and really, its all about what colors look great on you and less about limiting yourself based on dark/light features ☺

    Ni-ni is like me! I'm just a plain ol' white girl but I have very dark coloring, dark brown nearly-black hair with dark hazel or light brown eyes and pale skin. But my veins are mostly green, with *some* blue. I thought I was a winter! (or summer, as people keep swapping those two particular palettes baaaaaack and forth...) but I didn't feel *pale* enough. I figured I must be muted, but I didn't feel I looked as grey as other muted types. I certainly am not bright and cool, but I'm so neutral I could never tell my tone. Now it all makes so much sense, I feel excitement actually looking at these colors instead of dread like with all the other palettes.

      Just wear a nice gloss and some blush to enhance your season if you like!

      Just make sure something about the colours is still working for you!! I try to choose warm colours and colours that are either mixed with black or white, not with grey. On me I also find darker colours better because they usually contrast more with my features, but others might find the opposite to be true? Also you can try some of the neutrals from the spring palette and see if you like any of them 😊
