3 simple steps to squat with perfect form - • How To Squat With Perf...
350lbs x 10 reps at 20 years old full squats. Olympic squat form, high bar. No belt, no knee wraps. Felt pretty easy. Getting back to the basics, using lighter weight to start building from the ground up. - กีฬา
I don't get how anyone can hate on this kid. Dude you're strong as f*ck and keep doing what you're doing. I've seen 250lb dudes who don't have your strength. F*ck the haters and keep preaching.
i mean who hates on him everybody loves him.
osousa.
Yeah, feel like he's kind of responding to people who are insignificant haha
Believe it or not, I've squatted with this exact form, right next to a quarter squatter. They see me, and still continue with their 3 inch range of motion!
This is pretty much elite lifting status (2x bodyweight, 10 reps, no gear whatsoever). Your form's so crisp that it leaves haters no room to hate. Impressive balanced, athletic physique, perfect form, and of course, strength. Keep doing your thing, young grasshopper. Stay humble, injury-free, and informative for others. Peace
How can someone dislike this video...look at the form!
i fucking envy those legs
Best squat form on TH-cam.
Strong as fuck.
bro this is hard bruh. damn 2012 is almost 10 years ago. i was in nyc back then. now im in philly. time flies huh.
yep did you see what he is today? A world class powerlifter...that's crazy!
Candito's squat form tutorial video changed my life a couple years ago, especially the visualization of opening up the hips. I get compliments all the time at the gym in regards to depth, which I don't say to toot my own horn but I think it's a testament to Candito that I'm doing it properly now. Candito is the goat!
Candito I must say... Your videos have taught me how to squat better than anything or anyone. Thanks man.
This has changed the way I squat completely I started off using low bar squats rippetoe style but after a few months I decided to start squatting Olympic style, trouble was I was still trying to sit back despite the position of bar being higher up on the back I watched this video and a few of your other squat videos and it suddenly became apparent that with high bar you intimate the movement with your knees as oppose to the hips thank you so much this for me the best squat video on the Interne!
Thank you very much, welcome to the channel!
Thank you and will do! I've seen a lot of your videos as well and you definitely are a good example of doing just what you said
one of the better squat videos Ive seen. keep up the great work bro, great effin form btw.
That's what motivates me to make these videos, so these younger lifters especially, have a long, safe journey with the iron! Even though you cant change what has happened to you, you can still grow and use what you learned from what happened, to understand overcome the negative effects of the injury.
beautiful squats my man. i've finally achieved this level of mobility myself but i'm not pushing anything near what you're pushing! great strength and power!
Thank you. Yes I do compete in Powerlifting, actually I am going to go into olympic weightlifting as well. I did track for 2 years in college but now for the first time I can say I am no longer a track athlete. I am focusing now on just getting as strong as possible while staying lean/athletic.
Pound for Pound that probably was the best squat on TH-cam I've seen. To have that much control and fluidity with that kind of weight was impressive. keep up the good work!
Clarence Kennedy
Best form I've ever seen. Keep up the great videos and advice. Subscribed!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm sure you will, just takes a bit of practice that's all :)
You've got such wonderful form, man. Definitely what I'd like to strive towards.
This is literally outrageous. Such good form, ludicrous weight and it looked so easy? You have to do a video on squat form, I know you'vre done one on the buttwink, but I really, really need to learn to squat like this. Please make sure you do it!
Stay strong.
Ah okay, that clears things up. I really appreciate your help man, thanks a lot!
No problem! I am glad be of use to better your training!
Thank you for the sub. Tell your lifting buddies about the channel! I've been doing track training most my life, now I am done with that, but still do track workouts along with yoga on the side with lifting. Keeping flexibility and explosiveness is vital to lifting
Those squats look so clean! nice vid
this is probably the most perfect squat ive seen on youtube.
Absolutely perfect form.
No problem, glad to help.
That's the way to do it. Awesome dude!
look at that form! RESPECT IT!
looking back after watching your videos for the last yr and holy shit you have made some great gainz !!
BEAST MODE. This was bad ass dude. Props
Great form pal. You had another ten in the bank easy. Keep up your hard work pal.
I didn't even know this was humanly possible!! Thank you for the inspiration
Flawless victory
nadeau pm Superb
Very impressive man. Great work!
Fuggin Bravo man. Wow. Those are some serious squats.
Alright wicked, I'll get that done next week! Appreciated mate.
Great form. keep doing things proper in life. proper form, and no steroids. great work.
Damn, and I'm just now at 245x6 for the past few wks. Like your other video stated, the squat took me a bit over a year to fully understand the mechanics involved. And to get the form down right. Good job man! I'm shooting for 275x6 by the end of summer. I'll refer back to this video for motiviation!
Thank you man love your videos!! I'm 16 and i want to get up on your level of lifting but I know it'll take years but just as long as the forms good the weight will be there!
Thats some good shit man! Keep it up!
Great, good to see someone actually practicing what they preach and putting up good numbers.
Great form and made it look so easy!
so strong! amazing!
incredible strength!!
Cheers dude you are so helpful I'm really grateful
Respect. Beautiful squats.
Hopefully both. I will be on a team with a coach so I can't say for certain how I will train, but I plan on doing weightlifting as the main focus, then powerlifting a couple meets in the summer. Later on when I'm out of college I have a plan to do a powerlifting meet, weightlifting meet, and a natural bodybuidling comp in the same year. But for now weightlifting is going to be the biggest priority over the next couple years without a doubt
Thanks man! Gave me some motivation!
Beautiful. Maybe the best I ever saw. They were perfect so I couldn't have seen better.
Thanks, your post has inspired me to practice better posture.
that's a long ass fuking walk out dude...love the form Candito!!!!!! perfect
Beautiful form. And very strong.
very impressive and smooth form!
Form looks great man. I wish I could squat atg with that form!
The bending here is my pelvis tilting. That is 100% impossible to prevent when squatting below parallel (has to do with hip girdle not even musculature). However, the key is to make sure your back isn't rounding over and keep the movement isolated to just your hips tilting. So if your posture is correct and just your pelvis is moving you have no issues.
I'll make a video on this clearing it all up because there is a lot of confusion on this.
That is the best squat form on TH-cam!
finally!! Full ROM :D good job man!
Thank you!
Don't overthink it. It should be comfortably on your traps. You won't even feel it on your spine once you find the proper placement. The biggest step is to make sure you retract your shoulder blades back and tense your traps before unracking. This will make it easier to create a natural shelf for the bar.
Damn, I wish I could have such a good technique too! Currently I'm having issues with lower back rounding and occasional knee + hip pain. I watched your video about how to avoid lower back rounding, it seemed pretty good, I'm going to try it out in 20 minutes when I'm at the gym!
Yes, that is absolutely correct. The only reason it is tucking if you are keeping your lower back straight, is because you are reaching such a low depth. Imagine a skeleton squatting. The butt would "tuck" at the end just because that is the end of the motion of an ATG squat.
If the lower back is rounding, that shows the issue isnt the natural movement of leverages, rather an incorrect movement pattern stressing the muscles beyond their ability to remain stable.
Spot on, patience is what all natural athletes need to have.
Thank you haha, they are pretty abnormally large. All it takes is some quality form, intensity, and consistency over the span of a couple years!
Yes. To be honest, the front squat cannot replace the back squat. The weight is not heavy enough as the limiting factor is technique/core strength rather than actual leg strength.
Check out my video on front squat form, that was the 2nd time i ever front squatted. If you high bar back squat deep and heavy, your front squat will always increase
Yes. You are likely trying to stay upright too much. You still want to sit back a bit as you enter the "pocket" as I call it, in the squat. If you just decend straight down without using your hips, your knees will shoot out.
Also, make sure your feet are slightly pointed outwards, and that your knees follow the path of your toes, staying outward. Many people let their knees cave in, causing it the weight to shift from the posterior chain, onto the quads/knees
Thank you very much!
Yes, for ATG squats they are a must
Yes, the PHAT by Layne Norton routine is excellent! Until I come out with my own 6 week training program, PHAT is the main program I'd recommend.
Wow great form!
Nice squats dude!!
Thanks! Just keep getting stronger by squatting heavy, low volume. The higher the volume, the more your back becomes the limiting factor. Your legs will get bigger as you get stronger. The strength gains always precede noticeable mass gains. And this is especially true when it comes to legs.
Exactly as jodogg101 said. It just take time getting used to it. Honestly, I used the blue Monta Ray for a while at first. But then eventually I knew I'd have to ditch it, so its best to just get used to the bar.
Make sure your upper back is tight, shoulders pinched back. Being tense will make it hurt less as well as add stability in the lift. From there the skin will just get used to it after about a week. Good luck!
It is never too late to stop. Just do one thing at a time. Have a checklist of what you need to get done, and only focus at the stop you are on. Each task is very achievable, that is why you need to isolate and conquer!
You make this look ez keep it up man
The stretch reflex is more driven by your tendons than anything. That is why many oly lifters can shoot up out of the bottom, then struggle with the weight mid way through. A pause squat would force the muscles to takeover the weight from the bottom up.
So it doesnt really recruit more fibers, but it can help train for explosiveness along with flexibility and is without a doubt applicable for a sport like wrestling :)
Agreed, too technical without proper instruction or coaching. Keep doing your thing man, you're a fresh breath in the land of youtube fitness. Thanks for the uploads!
perfect form
Well yes I have a video entitled "5 exercises to increase hip mobility" specifically for that!
A lot of times people create more problems by trying to stay upright. The thing is usually trying to do this, creates an unnatural transition into the bottom of the squat. However upright you will be is entirely determined by your lower body angles, so just bend your knees a certain extent you want, then dont force being upright so your back stays tighter which actually allows upright position
Oly lifters said I stay upright very well even though I dont try to.
maximum ankle mobility, knees going forward, partial buttwink. good form overall. especially with that amount of weight for that many reps. good fucking shit, king.
Squat shoes
thank you!
Awesome form
The video in the description should help. There are 3 sets to squatting deep explained in it. If that doesnt work, then it is likely a flexibility issue which can be solved a variety of ways.
Yeah, I've seen your video. Subscribed!
good job, I like the bar lower on the traps but to each their own
Strong!
Nice deep squat man!
To be honest, if you are training for sports, you dont really have to go this low, go below parallel, but you dont have to hit absolute rock bottom. I never really needed a heel to go very low, it just helps when hitting that absolute rock bottom position. So if you have pretty solid ankle flexbility, you can just go really low, but just short of being as low as possible.
Ah ok, that makes sense. Cheers for the quick reply
Damn good squatting!
great video! strong as f*** and with proper technique! hope I'll squat like that soon!
That is true. That makes them a good supplementary exercise, with full squats (full meaning at least parallel), being the main movement! I'm talking about people that only quarter squat
Is my butt tucking slightly? Yes
Is my lower back rounding? No
That is the main point. If you pause the video my lower back is still straight. Since I start squatting with a slight arch in my back, the slight tucking only makes my back neutral at the bottom position, rather than rounded.
In the how to prevent lower back rounding I recommend going just a bit below parallel, because going ATG is a bit more challenging. But as long as your lower back doesnt round, you are 100% fine
Thank you very much! The funny thing is I am editing a video right now on partial pin squats.
And most people do have the flexibility to squat with the bar to at least parallel. Certainly some people have limitations, but there is no reason they can half squat with 405 but cant deep squat with 225! I agree with you
hippies probably mad they can't hate. this form was impeccable even by their standards lol
Great form.
You make some very good points. It is a little harder to learn the OL movements and find a facility that facilitates them appropriately. It takes years to master them, hence it's a test of mental fortitude and patience.
All that being said, I still think people should venture into learning them but if at all possible get a coach - especially as a beginner.
I agree that there are multiple ways of getting explosive, but again there is just something bad ass about chucking weight over your head!
Yes it will only cause knee problems if your knees are very far out past your toes. As long as they arent extremely far out, you will be completely fine. Knees first actually reduces the stress on the knees since the hip then can then be emphasized out of the hole which is the most stressful portion of the lift.
