Ok so Steph doesn’t win 2 with out KD but Kobe doesn’t win 3 without Shaq, Magic and Kareem don’t win 3 without eachother. This double standard is such bs
Even worse is that KD isn't even a top 10 player so those teams had 2 top 10 players helping each other but somehow Steph championships are less impressive? Wow.
Yes. Stephen Curry has done it all. His talent as a player makes him an all time great, but his humble nature and leadership make him a once in a lifetime player and the ultimate fundamental piece of a dynasty. Truly have enjoyed watching this man’s greatness over the last 10 years. I know his game 4 will be the memorable performance, but I thought he was excellent tonight. 34-7-7-2 on efficient splits and really solid, disruptive defense on a night where nobody other than Draymond stepped up offensively.
I don’t understand these people saying having KD during the two titles disqualified him from being top 10 because he wouldn’t have won those without him. Yet they have both Kobe and Shaq in the top 10. Neither of them would have those 3 titles without the other. Shouldn’t it then by their own logic disqualify both from being top ten ? 🤦🏽
The correct argument would be lebron & wade. Like curry & kd they went out their way to join each other. Shaq ultimately went to LA for more money & Kobe was traded for on draft night.
So what does Steph have to do to be considered one of the top greats? No one is answering that question. Critics keep holding him to criteria they’re not applying to the others in the top 10, such as having great teammates. At this point, critics have their faves and I believe there will always be something they’ll use to knock Steph. He will always be held to an impossible standard because he plays the game differently than Jordan, Lebron, and Kobe.
He’s top 15 not top 10 all time. Never been considered best player in league both years he won mvp lbj was best player in league, Kobe mj and lbj has more final mvps, points all time, defensive team selections, all nba selections, all star appearances etc
Its because hes just not as good hes just 3 point shooter not great rebounder not great passer hes only offense no defense the others are all time defensive players steph is not
Nick is talking out both sides of his mouth again. He was giving the Celtics fans a hard time for having 9 titles when the league had fewer than 10 teams, but is okay with 2 players from that Era being in the top 10. Pick a side Nick.
@@mrflynn01 I was saying Nick has two players from the 1960s (Bill Russell and Wilt) in his top ten, even though a week ago he was spewing hate at the Celtics fans for bragging about having 9 rings from that Era, since there were 10 or fewer teams in the league during that time.
I actually liked this debate since Nick was lauding WIlt's and Hakeem's accomplishments to have them in the top 10, but not trashing Steph's credentials like Skip would.
Hakeem can’t be in a top 10. Apart from a 2 year anomaly he was unable to elevate his teams outside his individual dominance. Nick is tripping saying he’s never seen a top 10 without Hakeem, more have him outside the top 10 than in it

You can make an argument to invalidate almost every championship ring.
Why do people forget that without KD the warriors took a healthy Cleveland to 7 games in the finals (with a suspension to Dramond and they were up 3-1)... you don't think if they run that back and Dramond isn't suspended they couldn't have won without KD? it was at least a 50/50 shot
GS would also have had the salary to add some good players if they didn't get KD.. KD made the finals unfair (4-1 and 4-0), but without KD it's not like they would have had NO chance of winning.
@@buttkicker900 I think they just needed a wiggins type (a bit better than barnes) and they couldve done it. i dont think adding another star was necessary to win again but it sure made it easier

To Twan's argument. Couldn't you argue that if you put ANY other max wing/pf in Golden State's lineup from 2016-2019 that they would have won those chips? I think this finals is a compelling argument for that. No one had Andrew Wiggins in the top 10 of wings in the NBA coming into this season (LeBron, KD, Kawhi, PG, Jimmy Butler, Jason Tatum, Demar Derozan, Kris Middleton, Jaylen Brown, Bradley Beal, Brandon Ingram, then finally you can discuss Wiggins. Using that as a premise, if you throw any of the aforementioned guys in their primes on the 2016 Warriors or a PF like Anthony Davis the Warriors probably three-peat. It was the fact that KD was a 4th all-star that made Golden State unbeatable--that all-star being KD was just icing on the cake.
GS was up 3-1 in that finals and was even up in the game 7 at a point. They were capable of winning with that exact same team. A lot of things went wrong for GS that series. Boguts injury, Draymonds suspension Steph’s injury.

Sure it's very simple. Two different lists: 1 top 10 all time players. 1 Elite group of 7 who have achieved 4x NBA championships and 2x regular season MVPs Hes not a top 10 all time player - because Wilt who is not on the list is better and should at least have Stephs spot. Now a DIFFERENT CONVERSATION is there is the 7 players (the elite group of 7 that he speaks of) who have 4 NBA champion ships and 2 regular season MVP's. Steph curry is one of the SEVEN Players who have achieved that, and thus is in the "elite group of 7" with THIS particular achievement.

And I got to respect The Golden State Warriors Steph Curry the original four Draymond Green Andre Iguodala and definitely Klay Thompson been there for all four titles 🏆🏆🏆🏆

Why is LeBron above Kobe, Duncan, Magic, Kareem? He won less times than all of those guys. Not even sure how is he above Shaq. And now that Curry has 4, why is LeBron over him as well? If nothing, Curry clearly has the more efficient resume. Took him less time to get 4 rings. And dude changed the game. Actually makes others around him better. And can play with pretty much anyone. Unlike James and most of these guys on the list. It's like they insert him there because of his position. He's the best at that position. But not really sure how does that make him better than these greats who are at completely different positions.
Bird is my guy, but why is he ahead of Shaq. Shaq has 4 titles and 3 FMVPs. Bird really just has the two MVPs over him. I think the 1 title and 1 more FMVP equate or eclipse that discrepancy.
i never understood the love for bird , 3 titles 3mvps playing with hall of famers , and had a short carreer , doesnt appear in any top 10 of any statistic , its really WEIRD , i guess the rivalry (friendship)with magic boosted his fame
The legend of bird is why some have him higher than he should be. "Leadership" is used to make his stats look better cause in a blind test they aren't shockingly great
Yeah, Bird's rivalry with Magic and the both of their impact on the NBA is why Bird is ranked usually in the 5-7 range all time. In reality if you look at the numbers he's more in the 8-10 range and could be bumped out of the top 10 when some of these younger legends come through
Forget the accolades and individual awards. Imagine being the unquestioned greatest player to do the most import aspect of a sport and still not being considered as one of the top 10 to ever play. 🤦🏽♂️

They didn’t need kd, they could of easily got a good center or a half of kd that they got in Wiggins and you see what happened with Wiggins
Lebron and them guys figured them out. Do you think Kyrie/Lebron will lose again the next year? That's not possible. And there is the mental advantage as well. Cos in 2015 he took them to 6 games with scrubs, so I doubt they feel they can really beat the Cavs.
@@MaxPotentialGreatness Tim Duncan is... but unfortunately someone has to be left off. Wilt numbers are remarkable, his impact on the game is alil higher than TD. TD is a solid all-time great, but I can't remove wilt from top 10 for him.
#1: Wilt played in an era with only 8-10 teams, fewer talented & athletic players especially guards & forwards, 20-30 more possessions on the fastest pace ever recorded while playing 46+minutes a game. Of course his numbers are gonna look otherworldly. Also teams were missing 10-15 more shots per game compared to the modern era which explains the extremely high rebounding numbers of everyone in that era, not just Wilt. #2: Regular season: 30ppg on 54%fg Playoffs: 22ppg on 52%fg. 8 point drop off in the playoffs!! Are you kidding me?? #3: He only won when he stopped scoring, dropped from 50 & 40 ppg to like 22-24. He became a really good passer, I give him that. But he had a season averaging 44 and his team won 31 games. Let that sink in...
Wilt and Bill Russell paved the way for guys that play today, you can't just throw them out of the top 10 cuz of the era they played in. They dominated their era, period. Wilt statistically, Bill championship wise and in the context of the greatest, key word GREATEST, of all time argument, what they did matters because they made the league reputable back in the day. Steph prolly like 12th
#1: There were more positions and guys played more minutes but Wilt’s numbers were dominant for that era too. He led the league in scoring every year for the first half of his career until he was asked to score less. He leads the league in field goal percentage and rebounding almost every year for his entire career. Imagine if someone leads the league in PPG, FG% and RPG in todays NBA, it’d be a great accomplishment regardless of what the numbers are. Now imagine playing on that level for a decade. #2: That’s an unfair way to compare because Wilt made his deep playoff runs later in his career so majority of those games were played when he was asked to score less. #3: Jordan and Kobe all had their peak scoring seasons when they had less talents around them and scored less when they won. That’s not a unique thing to wilt.
@Disgruntled Simp Mod Phenomenal Counterpoint. Other than Russell defensively that is. Same can also be said for Russell yet no one in ANY team sport has been able to duplicate his championship success.
@Disgruntled Simp Mod I agree with everything you're saying. I personally have Wilt and Russell in the top 6. It's funny with cause with all the advanced metrics and analytics, nutrition, training, etc. Todays athletics can even run un 1/10th of the stats at ease like it's 2k.
@Disgruntled Simp Mod I mean barely anyone was close to his physical prowess, and he benefited from totally different rules. Like he dunked free throws. It was a totally different game.
Are you counting Jordan's Wizard years as him belonging in the 2000s? Russell, Bird, Magic, Kareem and Jordan are pre 2000 players. Shaq is halfway. Only LeBron and Step started playing in the 2000s, all others played pre 2000s.
I would not put him over Shaq or Russell, he’s good at 10. This KD rings aren’t something to be gloating about and beating Lebron with KD and Kyrie and Kevin Love injured isn’t something to gloat about either. With that being said, two time MVP, the only unanimous MVP, revolutionized the game and the 3pt god, he deserves to be top 10
What stands out about everyone's top 10 is Kareem and Magic played together and Kobe and Shaq did too to build their legacy. Can you really have teammates in a top 10 list? I don't think so as obviously their success relied on one another. I know Kobe and Shaq also won titles without one another, and I think Kareem as well, but the accumulated total wouldn't have been there without being teammates. You should pick the best of the teammates and leave the other off the list.
Y’all find any reason to discredit Steph. He’s elite, one of 6 with multiple scoring titles, MVP, 4+ rings and now a FMVP. Quit holding on to those older players, they’ve been surpassed. I don’t wanna hear about KD, he did it without him that was the knock and now they wanna discredit it. Smh pathetic.
I don’t usually agree with Nick but I agree with him putting Steph 12th. Winning is a big part of being top 10 and he has the rings but Wilt is obviously a top 10 nba player of all time
Nick, Hakeem is my favorite player of all time... However, I'm here to tell you that there is NO argument to put him in front of Steph Curry. All the guys you mentioned that Hakeem had to go through while Jordan was gone, Steph basically did the same thing PLUS beat the Jordan of his era. Steph BEAT LeBron and KD, Steph BEAT Harden, Chris Paul, Westbrook, Dame, and all the future HOFers of his era. He even beat the up and coming face of the league, Luka, the same way Hakeem did Shaq.
Theres no answer for Steph offensively but theres also no answer for Hakeem offensively. What separates these two for me is Hakeem played bot sides of the ball. Hakeem is probably the best defensive player ever. On draft night I know who I'd be choosing.
You know that Hakeem is Top 25 (specifically at least Top 15) in 4 out 5 major categories of Basketball. The Dream is one of the most underated NBA players. He should definitely belong in Top 10 before Steph (who is around a Top 15ish player)
He never beat Lebron fair and square, first time Kevin Love and Kyrie injured, and the KD rings 🙄🙄 come on bro, those do not count. This chip is his move valuable because they finally beat a team fair and square while him being the best player. With that being said he’s top 10, at the 10 position though at most. He’s got back to back MVPs a unanimous one at that, plus the 3 point king and revolutionized the game. I swear if he didn’t get KD his legacy would be looked at waaaaaay better.
This is simply not true. After Kobe won his fourth and fifth championships, many people routinely had him as high as top 3. His ranking has nothing to do with honoring him posthumously
No timeout....Kobe should be higher than six. He beat Duncan in 2001..2002..2004...2008. Duncan beat kobe 1999...2003...Kobe repeated twice and three peated. Duncan never repeated

Yes everyone would take Curry over Shaq in modern NBA. Curry would cook shaq 1 on 1 shooting 3s while Shaq made 2pt dunks. Shaq in modern day NBA would be a liability on defense closing out on 3pt shooters. Not to mention Shaq can’t shoot 3s, midrange or free throws. He was a one trick pony.
Broussard being a prisoner of the moment as always. He does that on The Odd Couple as well. How you going to put out a top 10 and not have Wilt or Hakeem in it?
It’s hard to rank like this I personally prefer using tiers T1 : MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Wilt T2 : Duncan, Magic, Bird T3 : Kobe, Steph, Shaq I hate putting Magic and Bird ahead of Kobe and Steph considering that they were both drafted in situations where it was impossible not to win but they have way to many accolades !

Bird joined a Celtics team that had a terrible losing record for the previous two years (32 wins, and then 29 wins). His big name teammates were all past their prime (Dave Cowens and Pete Maravich, perhaps others, played their last year in Bird's first year). The Celtics won 61 games in Bird's first year and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. That was not a sure thing at all, and was mostly due to Bird's great play as a rookie, not anything else.
Duncan, Kobe, and Shaq are all in the same tier. They are all contemporaries competing against each other and have similar accolades. They are also all above Steph.
Alot of people put Bron at 2 and that blows my mind. But bird was better than magic. They should be right next to each other. Wilt should definitely be on that list. Top 10s are tough but that list has some major issues. Still have curry in the 12th spot
Broussard nailed this list and thats why he's the GOAT. Nick needs to shut up and learn sometimes. Theres no way you can rank Hakeem ahead of Steph when Steph has twice as many rings. Same for Wilt Chamberlain.

We clearly have different standards for different eras. If a modern nba player losta bunch of nba finals game 7s the margin wouldn't matter. He would be a choker and unclutch and can't get the job done. Ranking a guy who ALMOST won over guys that did win is not intellectually honest. "Cuz they don't win those 2 titles without KD." I think thats flatly wrong. Even with Steph playing through knee & ankle injuries they still nearly won in 2016. They likely win in 2017 w/o KD, and possibly again in either 2018 or 2019 with the help of whoever they do use their cap space on in 2016.
Yeah but it wouldn’t have been that sure of a bet as it was with KD, that’s why I hated that they got KD, they already had an good enough team to run it back. Getting KD got him two rings but running it back would’ve done way more wonders to his legacy. Who knows if they would’ve won again tbh, but if he had those wins are mor evaluable than the ones with KD. It would have been our version of the Lakers vs Celtics but they ruined it with KD because it was a done deal and no competition

Yeah, your list is full of errors. Kareem 6 time mvp, most nba points, most nba rebounds, unblockable shot, 6 rings is top 3, Giannis has an organic ring worth far more than Kd’s 2 rings at warriors. Warriors won a ring before KD came and just won another this year. Steph doesn’t surpass Shaq’s dominance with less finals mvps. Or even Tim Duncan at that either

Yes. Stephen Curry has done it all. His talent as a player makes him an all time great, but his humble nature and leadership make him a once in a lifetime player and the ultimate fundamental piece of a dynasty. Truly have enjoyed watching this man’s greatness over the last 10 years. Exactly! 💯
Lebron wouldn't win in¿f he didn't form the superteam in Miami with champion Wade and Chris Bosh.
The correct argument would be lebron & wade. Like curry & kd they went out their way to join each other. Shaq ultimately went to LA for more money & Kobe was traded for on draft night.
I agree but to play devils advocate both Shaq and Kobe won a championship without each other. Can’t say the same about KD when it comes to Steph.
@@Kizamusic That would only apply to KD. But Steph won without KD twice. KD is not top 10 and Steph won with him. Kareema &Magic, Kobe and SHaq.
So what does Steph have to do to be considered one of the top greats? No one is answering that question. Critics keep holding him to criteria they’re not applying to the others in the top 10, such as having great teammates. At this point, critics have their faves and I believe there will always be something they’ll use to knock Steph. @@MaxPotentialGreatness Tim Duncan is... but unfortunately someone has to be left off. Wilt numbers are remarkable, his impact on the game is alil higher than TD. TD is a solid all-time great, but I can't remove wilt from top 10 for him.
Remember we don’t know LeBron gets 2 rings without joining Wade and bringing Bosh. (And scope out the rest of their teammates accolades)
Chris definitely you are an accurate teacher.
I've got Steph at 11, but really 5 through 11 are virtually interchangeable for me.

2. Bron
3. Kareem
4. Magic
5. Russell
6. Shaq
7. Timmy
8. Kobe
9. Wilt
10. Bird
11. Steph
12. Hakeem
13. Oscar
14. Dr. J
15. KD
Respectable list
#1: Wilt played in an era with only 8-10 teams, fewer talented & athletic players especially guards & forwards, 20-30 more possessions on the fastest pace ever recorded while playing 46+minutes a game. Of course his numbers are gonna look otherworldly. Also teams were missing 10-15 more shots per game compared to the modern era which explains the extremely high rebounding numbers of everyone in that era, not just Wilt.
#2: Regular season: 30ppg on 54%fg
Playoffs: 22ppg on 52%fg.

Only LeBron and Step started playing in the 2000s, all others played pre 2000s.
my mount rushmore is steph curry with 4 different expressions
I would not put him over Shaq or Russell, he’s good at 10. This KD rings aren’t something to be gloating about and beating Lebron with KD and Kyrie and Kevin Love injured isn’t something to gloat about either. With that being said, two time MVP, the only unanimous MVP, revolutionized the game and the 3pt god, he deserves to be top 10
So you bring up KD but what bout magic teaming a top 10 player in Kareem or Kobe with Shaq?
Broussard just took em’ to church.
Per usual!

So Solid!!!
I don’t usually agree with Nick but I agree with him putting Steph 12th. Winning is a big part of being top 10 and he has the rings but Wilt is obviously a top 10 nba player of all time
Antoine’s laugh at the Bird vs Steph analysis 😂
Chris is hilarious 😂
Bru went crazy I love it
Steph is the Shaquille O'neal at the 3
Broussard my guy and I love this cast !
Facts, Nick needs to get rid of his bias
Facts , talk that 💩 lol
Making a Top 10 list of NBA players is just really difficult, yet really fun at the same time!
Timeout… Before kobe died he was on number 8 or 9 but since then ppl trying to hard to put him higher above every time
This is simply not true. After Kobe won his fourth and fifth championships, many people routinely had him as high as top 3. His ranking has nothing to do with honoring him posthumously
I always had Kobe above MJ. I was born in the late 90s. Kobe was cooler to me.
No timeout....Kobe should be higher than six. He beat Duncan in 2001..2002..2004...2008. Duncan beat kobe 1999...2003...Kobe repeated twice and three peated. Duncan never repeated
And dont say he had Shaq.cause.Duncan had Robinson..Kawhi...Parker...Ginobili and Bowen.... Magic wasnt the.defender Kobe was nor scorer. 12 time all defenses....The only argument Kobe in my opinion in Kareem and MJ
@@treyivey9814 I understand your logic.. but Duncan had a 34 yr old Admiral while Kobe had a Prime Shaq and Gasol. Also when Duncan retired Kawhi was 24.. the only argument that stands true is that Duncan had Ginobli and Parker. But even Duncan's 2nd Championship... Parker was just 20yrs old.
A Prime Shaq was an amazing player.. Kobe wasn't even the best player as Shaq won Finals MVP.
Think that's why Duncan gets the respect. Also on top of that.. Duncan never missed the playoffs. Kobe did.
After this Finals victory, personally, I got Curry at number 12 all time.

Hakeem
Russell
Shaq
Bird
Magic
MJ
LeBron
Kareem
Wilt

Yes everyone would take Curry over Shaq in modern NBA. Curry would cook shaq 1 on 1 shooting 3s while Shaq made 2pt dunks.
Shaq in modern day NBA would be a liability on defense closing out on 3pt shooters. Not to mention Shaq can’t shoot 3s, midrange or free throws. He was a one trick pony.

T1 : MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Wilt
T2 : Duncan, Magic, Bird
T3 : Kobe, Steph, Shaq

6-7-8 is bird, duncan, russel, 9-10 hakeem and shaq, 11th kobe and 12th steph.
but now that steph won, its either gonna be shaq and steph, or hakeem and steph in the 9-10 range
Bad list
Bird joined a Celtics team that had a terrible losing record for the previous two years (32 wins, and then 29 wins). His big name teammates were all past their prime (Dave Cowens and Pete Maravich, perhaps others, played their last year in Bird's first year).
The Celtics won 61 games in Bird's first year and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. That was not a sure thing at all, and was mostly due to Bird's great play as a rookie, not anything else.
@@youraverage90sguys7 leave the ranking to the experts. You see Chris Broussard has Kobe top 6, but yet you want to have Kobe at 11th. Stop it
Duncan, Kobe, and Shaq are all in the same tier. They are all contemporaries competing against each other and have similar accolades. They are also all above Steph.
Bird needed 6 hall of famers
Alot of people put Bron at 2 and that blows my mind. But bird was better than magic. They should be right next to each other. Wilt should definitely be on that list. Top 10s are tough but that list has some major issues. Still have curry in the 12th spot
Broussard nailed this list and thats why he's the GOAT. Nick needs to shut up and learn sometimes. Theres no way you can rank Hakeem ahead of Steph when Steph has twice as many rings. Same for Wilt Chamberlain.
Championships are important, but are not the only thing. Steph is ahead of Hakeem, but he’s still not at the top 10. I got in order, MJ, LBJ, Kareem, Bill Russell, Magic, Wilt, Bird, Duncan, Kobe, Shaq. Steph is 11th

We clearly have different standards for different eras. If a modern nba player losta bunch of nba finals game 7s the margin wouldn't matter. He would be a choker and unclutch and can't get the job done.
Ranking a guy who ALMOST won over guys that did win is not intellectually honest. Curry finished the job and has every year when his team was whole. Only LeBron has had his teams fall apart in a manner that curry has in the finals and playoffs.
Also Russell and wilt holding thier places indefinitely when they basically played a different sport is a another conversation.
