That is slick! Looks close to gold. Never heard of aluminum bronze though... had to look up what it's used for; below is a summary of the info for the curious-but-lazy. =) A tip regarding the punches... if you take a piece of 2x4 or other scrap wood ~80-90% the length of the punch thick and drill a hole through the same or slightly larger than the diagonal measurement of the punch shaft, you can put the punch in and it does not go flying when you smack it. (Please don't ask how I learned this... ;-) ) "Aluminium bronze is a type of bronze in which aluminium is the main alloying metal added to copper, in contrast to standard bronze (copper and tin) or brass (copper and zinc). A variety of aluminium bronzes of differing compositions have found industrial use, with most ranging from 5% to 11% aluminium by weight, the remaining mass being copper; other alloying agents such as iron, nickel, manganese, and silicon are also sometimes added to aluminium bronzes. Aluminium bronzes are most valued for their higher strength and corrosion resistance as compared to other bronze alloys. These alloys are tarnish-resistant and show low rates of corrosion in atmospheric conditions, low oxidation rates at high temperatures, and low reactivity with sulfurous compounds and other exhaust products of combustion. They are also resistant to corrosion in sea water. Aluminium bronzes' resistance to corrosion results from the aluminium in the alloys, which reacts with atmospheric oxygen to form a thin, tough surface layer of alumina (aluminium oxide) which acts as a barrier to corrosion of the copper-rich alloy. The addition of tin can improve corrosion resistance. Another notable property of aluminium bronzes are their biostatic effects. The copper component of the alloy prevents colonization by marine organisms including algae, lichens, barnacles, and mussels, and therefore can be preferable to stainless steel or other non-cupric alloys in applications where such colonization would be unwanted. Aluminium bronzes tend to have a golden color."
thanks my friend 😉maybe I’ll get there eventually it’s a slow journey that’s for sure but at the end of the day I’m doing something I love and with TH-cam or not I’d still be doing this for myself so why not film it and share it . And if I can make a couple of dollars along the way to help Buy gas or something else why not👍🏻😁😀
I guess it's easy to start it with hundys making almost 40grand a month on TH-cam. Watched a short video on what someone thinks you make on TH-cam. That's crazy. Good for you. And look at all the good you do for other people with the videos and information. Your basically an online furnace instructor. Last I checked my ten kg was enroute from Paris.
Hey this is one of the first videos I have seen since I am following you. So I have almost watched all your videos now. Your channel is growing by the day. If you make some profit, would you do a pure 999 silver coim melt? Silver is low in price now. That would be sooooo awesome to see a pure bullion bar. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Everything is cool. The only adviсe is... Don't crush your property :):):) Did you fill how hard is this alloy? In my opinion, this bronze is one of the cheapest and toughest we can make at home. If we could add for example lithium, it would be even better but for that we need vacuum or using some inert gas...
Yeah it’s bloody strong stuff for sure I really struggled stamping 1 of these bars it was so hard At 1 end but not the other? I’ll give the metal a stir next time I think .
"Oops hit me fridge...Oops hit me car." I don't know that I should've found it funny but I did. Here's an idea... since this mix is so hard, why don't you consider making a hammer with a large flat head to use when you do your sand casting? The large flat head so you could pack the sand down well and have a lot more surface covered in less hits. Plus people who watch your videos can see you using a useful tool that you've crafted yourself. I think I've seen you use a regular hammer and also the end of a board. It wouldn't be to heavy since it's mostly aluminum right?
bloody nice bars - them punch sets are mini missiles fucken flinging off at the speed of sound, depreciating the value of white goods and automobiles on impact lol Have a good Easter mate, keep up the good work.
Yeah there bloody dangerous for sure oh well it’s just a beer fridge and an old car so all good. At least it didn’t hit my bike👍🏻. You have yourself a great weekend to matey🍻🤪👍🏻
Usually it’s quite breezy outside And I think I’m just used to using the furnace in winter as I leave it in to make the garage nice n toasty but it definitely is a good idea I always feel a bit suss going behind the furnace in my garage. I think I will start moving it out closer to the door as I have work to do on my bench while I wait for the metal to melt. But basically I was just too lazy to move it😉👍🏻
Bloody pricks🤨. Yeah I’m gonna Hit the brews pretty hard tomorrow after I try another melt. Im gonna try something a touch different so hopefully it’ll work😉👍🏻
I would make one, stamp it Gold 24kt and throw it into my neighbor's yard. He would then get all excited...thinking he can finally afford that new liver on the black-market, until an expert tells him its brass. A Joe Dirt moment.
Hi BigstackD, congratulation for your new video, it's awesome ! I have a question for you, Normaly, 1 liter of PUR copper is 8.9kg corresponds to a cube of 1000 cm cube. That's 10cm by 10cm by 10cm. MY QUESTION IS : Does the volume of your ingots correspond in weight / volume to 8.9kg / liter? (i'm French and in France we speak with kilos and centimeters you could answer with pounds and inches :) I hope you could answer that. Thank's !
I’ll get back to you my friend I’m currently on shift so when I get home I’ll do a measure and weigh mate. I’m in Australia so I only measure in kilos and grams also👍🏻.
Here’s the measurements of 1 of my ingots mate so I’ll let you do the working out so I don’t have a stroke👍🏻 135mm long 27mm high 29mm wide 1089 grams Have fun 🤪
Nicely done my friend! Those new stamps look like they work great! How do you like em? I’m finishing my new video today of using spray foam to cast so stay tuned :)
Spray foam to cast that sounds interesting. Yeah the stamps work great but on one of the aluminium bronze bars one end was way too hard to stamp. I’ve tried it on my copper brass and aluminium and they work absolutely great as long as they’re not hitting fridges or cars🤣👍🏻
Hey mate I was gonna say if ever you did decide to send the Indiana Jones Idol 3-D printed one to me I would highly recommend you do the half scale 1:2 model. It’s only half the size but still pretty big I don’t think I could melt enough aluminium or brass or copper to cast the full size one. Just in case you ever did send it the half size would be a lot easier for both of us😁👍🏻🍻
bigstackD Casting hey brotha yeah it’s being printed now.. I tried to do the full scale but my computer crapped out halfway through haha.. I’m reprinting it to about 3/5th scale so you should be good to cast and I’ll send it to you with some other stuff. I’ll put out a video of the process and time lapse and mention you in it to help support your channel.. I don’t have a lot of subscribers just yet but let’s work together and grow strong 👍🏻 great minds can accomplish great things!
Hey buddy i just checked my PO Box and received your tokens , Cheers matey i will put them all together and melt them in a future video. Unfortunately i dont sell or send my pieces out as postage alone from Australia is $24 minimum but i will be doing a few more giveaways this year so stay tuned my friend. 😀👍
As I’m in Australia they are replicas my friend but I live in a very safe neighbourhood so I wouldn’t need them anyway , plus they’re bloody heavy and my little arms struggle to hold them up😆👍🏻
I watched a vid of 2 guys trying to make aluminum bronze but they had splatters from it. I mentioned they should have used borax to make the metal less explosive Was I right?
Honestly I wouldn’t have a clue, I’ve only ever used mapp gas on a handheld and it seems so much more violent than the small propane hand-held , So it would be quite scary I would think as the propane is bloody loud and scary enough as it is🤷🏻♂️👍🏻
Hey there Christian these notes are completely fake and was sent to me from a subscriber who suggested I light my furnace with them he sent me quite a few hundred . there very convincing I have been told. I regularly get abused over it but I just laugh it off . Yeah if it was real I would pay to fix up my furnace and I would love to buy a big block of silver to cast with but I don’t see that any time soon😁👍🏻
Yeah mate. I’ll probably quench in oil soon just to see what happens I know there will be a baby fire but I am interested nonetheless. 👍🏻. I’ll probably do an oil quench , water quench and no quench strength test on a set of same sized ingots poured at the same time and use my sledgehammer to see how brittle or not they are, that’ll be a video later in the year👍🏻😁.
damn, please do that video now!!! I'm planning on a lot of AlCu projects and I'm sure since its a very popular casting metal right now that it would get tons of views if you made a good video about it!
I’m a bit pushed for time at the moment but I get my normal days off in the next few weeks so I should be able to get the video out in April sometime If all goes to plan. I don’t believe it’ll get the views you’re thinking but it’s definitely gonna happen anyway as I am very curious myself😁👍🏻
Yeah ill need to buy one of those jumbo pennies from ebay and cast from a mold i make from that, Ive always wanted one of those big pennies anyway so ill definately do that in a future project.👍
When I get back from holidays in 6 weeks I’ll be looking at doing a few big American pennys from a big pile of pre 1982 copper US penny’s I have here 👍🏻. I know you asked this over a year ago but better late than never Bro 😁👊🏻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Or why don’t you just take the money buy some Gold Jewelry and melt it into bullion . And maybe lite your furnace with a dollar bill . Just a suggestion bro .. not passing judgment
As I mentioned they fake , but hey thanks for not going apeshit before you know the back story like a lot of people do. I would feel physically sick if I saw someone burning a real $100 bill , even a 10 or a 5 and I would still shake my head👍🏻
I actually started melting lead on this channel before i got a furnace and started doing harder stuff. If you go right back to my first few videos i talk to the camera and show my face etc. But be warned as they are my first video attempts .😏😀👍
bigstackD Casting I know you aren't a gun channel but maybe you can do a collaboration with another channel to get more subscribers! Melting 25 lbs of lead range scrap to make one large "bullet" would be cool.
Actually I was gonna do a couple of BigStackD bullets At a later date And Layer them Like do the base near the primer in copper the casing in aluminium bronze and the bullet in aluminium. Unfortunately as I’m in Australia I don’t have access to guns easily as I would love to shoot my ingots to test the strength that would be pretty cool.
Scusa amico, ma non vendo o regalare nulla su questo canale. Ho un sacco di persone che offrono di acquistare i miei lingotti, ma devo dire di no come li amo troppo.
Damn my Spam box loves your comments, ive had thousands of comments and the only ones that get spammed is ones with a link in them and yours so it still boggles me why yours are forever there?? anyway cheers mate i appreciate the comment😀👍

Cool mate cheers for the info and the tip on stamping it will definitely come in handy before I take an eye out or destroy my iPhone😁👍🏻
I love watching you hone your craft on these older videos.
I’m sad you don’t have more subs, you deserve em
thanks my friend 😉maybe I’ll get there eventually it’s a slow journey that’s for sure but at the end of the day I’m doing something I love and with TH-cam or not I’d still be doing this for myself so why not film it and share it . No honey I dont no what happened to the frigerator 🙄
Lucky it’s just my old beer fridge or i couldve been in some serious trouble🤫
bigstackD Casting ok good and i think ur right lol
I really like the fact that you are numbering these ingots.
I know all your alloy recipe a memory!!! I love alloys, my favourite is Nordic Gold, but Aluminum bronze has a wonderful Colour!!!
My mother tongue is not English but I love what you do 😍😍😍😍
Stamping Aluminium Bronze looks like an expensive habit! Had me Chuckling......Well done.
That Aluminium Bronze sure looks nice!
Thanks mate I’m glad you liked it👍🏻😁
Nice start, finding new uses for paper money every day.

you have made gold my friend , its perfect
Thanks Matt👍🏻
Another awesome vid, keep em coming.

10:03 I hear metalurg march in the background 😂
Yeah he always likes to make a scene when he comes to visit🤣😅
My god hell on earth Copper is aggressive but i like it You are the best😍😍😍😙
Cheers Mohammed I appreciate that. Yeah copper certainly isn’t very easy to melt and cast 🤔
Matey, Love you Very Much, May God bless you with more❣️

Wild imagination
I love your videos.
Will commenting on all 250+ vids get me a solid chance in the giveaway? I love your videos 😁😎. Ingot is my favorite pupper on the tubes!
Love the color of this aluminum bronze.
Why don't you put the forge closer to the garage door, or out in the driveway?
Usually it’s quite breezy outside And I think I’m just used to using the furnace in winter as I leave it in to make the garage nice n toasty but it definitely is a good idea I always feel a bit suss going behind the furnace in my garage. See you !
No worries matey 👍🏻😁
i metalli che tu fai lo sai che sono speciali
Grazie amico mio sì, amo ogni pezzo che realizzo anche se non è molto bello.
Wot
Nicely done my friend! Those new stamps look like they work great! How do you like em? I’m finishing my new video today of using spray foam to cast so stay tuned :)

Copper + medal = gold.
Nice! :D
👍🏻
Dont mind me, just here to see Hundos start fires lol
Amazing
Thanks for sharing
I love to buy one of your aluminum bronze bullion bars when I write you a note and send you an estimate in Australian dollars.
got a question ran out of fuel melting copper now block stuck solid can I kiss crucible goodbye when I reheat it
I've noticed a big indentation or divot that forms in the middle of aluminum, lead and even gold ingots, but not in copper ingots. Why is that?🤔
Actually I don’t really know it’s just something I’ve gotten so used to and don’t really notice anymore 🤷🏻♂️
Pretty sure it’s the way the metal cools and shrinks
Hey what are the guns on the top shelf buddy?????? Love the bars and the video 👍
As I’m in Australia they are replicas my friend but I live in a very safe neighbourhood so I wouldn’t need them anyway , plus they’re bloody heavy and my little arms struggle to hold them up😆👍🏻
Not the car?, cool pieces!
Cheers matey, yeah the cars old so it don’t bother me none😁thank Fuk it didn’t hit my bike👍🏻
What is the model name of the IR Thermometer you got? I am looking to upgrade mine which maxes out at 380°C :)
Aluminium brozne is more exspensive then the copper?
I like it
I watched a vid of 2 guys trying to make aluminum bronze but they had splatters from it. I mentioned they should have used borax to make the metal less explosive Was I right?
Nice
I'm ashamed at how hard I laughed during the punch-put. What was your best distance?
Well it hit the garage wall half way up and 6 Metres away so I’m gonna say a solid 10 metres😂🤣
I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with those bars!!
That shelf looks barren compared to today. XD
Not that you should try it because of safety, but what happen if you replaced the propane with MAPP gas?
Honestly I wouldn’t have a clue, I’ve only ever used mapp gas on a handheld and it seems so much more violent than the small propane hand-held , So it would be quite scary I would think as the propane is bloody loud and scary enough as it is🤷🏻♂️👍🏻
Heh, imagine oxyacetylene
Bugger that but I would like to see it.
I could lower my melting time from one hour to 1 minute that would be pretty cool 🤪
Would probably vitrify the bricks too
👍🏼
So why the burning of a C note ?... there must be some significance ?
Hey there Christian these notes are completely fake and was sent to me from a subscriber who suggested I light my furnace with them he sent me quite a few hundred . there very convincing I have been told. I regularly get abused over it but I just laugh it off . Yeah if it was real I would pay to fix up my furnace and I would love to buy a big block of silver to cast with but I don’t see that any time soon😁👍🏻
Where can I get them to buy?
Wow... 100 usd mang mồi bếp
It’s all good my friend they are fake😁👍🏻
@@bigstackD 😈 hello.... I am viet nam me
Hello my friend 😁
Hihi....how aer you ..? 10:53 am
Yeah good mate, busy working on Fridays video. It’s 12 o’clock lunchtime here
A-lu-min-num & A-lu-min-ni-um
Which one do u usually say?
Al-um- in-ium 👍🏻😁
I cannot say that word
Yeah it’s really not that important either way🤷🏻♂️
Bro, how many grams gold 22 k 24 k gold
I’m confused, as I can’t see details at all. But are you starting up your Forge with a $100.00 Dollar Bill, or am I just seeing things?
Can you mold Han Solo in Carbonite ? \o/
Actually matey i have that on my list so ill eventually get to it but it will be in a future video 😀👍
Do you sell them? I would buy some.
11% aluminum, so a quench hardenable bronze.
I'd love to see u make a giant pennie with pennies .
Pirates bounty, mate
Or why don’t you just take the money buy some Gold Jewelry and melt it into bullion . And maybe lite your furnace with a dollar bill . Just a suggestion bro .. not passing judgment
As I mentioned they fake , but hey thanks for not going apeshit before you know the back story like a lot of people do. I would feel physically sick if I saw someone burning a real $100 bill , even a 10 or a 5 and I would still shake my head👍🏻
I need help do you have email where i can send you I'm trying to forge its not working alot
Where was ingot in this video
And if so, WHY IN SAM HILL WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING?
Ma questi metalli che fondi ci può essere una per centuale di oro
here to win giveaway
Try making a salt ingot btw great video
Thanks man . Yeah I’ll definitely do salt ingots in a future vid for sure👍🏻.
that fake 100$ bills don't look fake at all.
Yeah they’re pretty convincing for sure. But even If I had real one dollar bills I wouldn’t use them to like the furnace😉👍🏻
If it was real it would be illegal/felony 4 defacing government property
Do you ever mess with melting lead or is the danger not worth your time?
Rip car and refrigerator
Please melting 5 cents coin ( nickel )
I live in Australia matey , I can’t get that money .
bigstackD Casting okay, make alloy Cu Ni Al
I don’t actually have any nickel or access to any matey🤷🏻♂️
