Todd from Pocket EDC sent me a Carbon Canoe, I love it, they are great little knives. Hopefully I can complete the series. Thanks for sharing my friend.👍🇨🇦 Dave.
Nice knife...I have the attraction to the Classic Carbon yellow scale versions and now have about 3 of them...that makes it the start of a collection withing a collection :D Just picked up the canoe.....Jim
Hi Toad, great video my friend. I have a few in the carbon series from RR. I have one from the black micarta and 3 from the yellow delrin series in T10. I really like the large stockman. I also like these knives especially for the money. I had two of the bow trappers and gave them both away. I just don't prefer that pattern but it's still a decent knife for the price. Good stuff my friend!! Thanks!
Rough Ryder (T10) carbon steel blades tend to be warped/bent based on the ones I’ve bought. However, the steel has a Rockwell of about 60 with excellent edge retention. Great user knife, a bit overbuilt/heavy, but definitely a solid worker.
This Saddlehorn reminds me of the Rough Rider RR2176 Bow Trapper with T-10 blade steel and red liners. T-10 basically is 1095 steel with 1% carbon content. The Saddlehorn pattern known for having the shape of a Saddlehorn I do not see this one having. The back of the handle is pronounced and looks like a Saddles Horn. The idea of the Saddlehorn style handle shape enables using a wide style-skinning blade to fit into the knife frame. If you compare it to a Case large or small Saddle Horn pattern, you will notice a distinct design difference. To save production costs many Chinese knife copies do not follow the correct design shapes of the original knife models. 🐸👍
Thanks very much for explaining all that. 🙏 I've noticed that it's quite common in the traditional knife realm for many different manufacturers to call different patterns by different names; what one brand calls a Muskrat, another calls it a Moose, what one brand calls a Saddlehorn, another calls it a Bow Trapper, etc, etc...There doesn't appear to be a set standard followed by all brands. 🤔 Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I always value your feedback. 😊Take care my friend and Cheers!
Awesome…thanks for sharing…

That's a good point. I think the overall quality is great, and it's certainly a hard-working knife. 👍Take care and Cheers!
