The transportation of the building and construction materials isn't easy,the ferry services from Mbita to Mfangano are highly in demand.
More needs to be done! The shoreline is pathetic: poor or no roads, raw sewage disposal, littering of refuse at the shores, shanties along the lake etc. It’s not a tourist attraction at all.
Kisumu County under the leadership of Gov. Nyong'o in collaboration with international donors and national govt. have began opening up the lake front. Lake Victoria Ring road construction is underway, and in 3-5 years the place will look totally different.

That boat company is owned by a very powerful family in the country and they dictate who will do business in that lake....if you know you know...let them not come here to say that they have the best transport....
