It is obviously not ideal. But it works. It does the job. For those who cannot afford to buy expensive equipment right away, it works. You can learn deep-sky things. It does a decent job. Instead of just throwing this in the garage and not using it, you can do decent astrophotography with money you have already paid for it.
@YASAJTV you are absolutely right...I have the same stuff but I made my own wedge and works perfect....now I'm going for a guiding system...I will master what I already have....what's the max exposure time you get with that guiding?. Thanks and CS!
@@evastronomy8048 Exposure time totally depend on winds. On my wedge, if absolutely no wind than I have gone up to 40 seconds exposures. Normal day with mild breeze I can easily get 15-25 seconds.
Your setup is nearly identical to mine. In addition to the dew shield I also have a dew heater ring. I use a 600 cold cranking amp 12V car battery and a 2000W inverter for power.
Glad to see you got your wedge working! Try reducing your guiding frequency to 0.5s, it should help reduce your error. I've been setting mine between 0.2 and 0.5 lately. CS!

@@YASAJTV Thanks for sharing that info! I have the same scope and focuser on an AVX mount, but almost the same gear otherwise. It helps me get an idea of what's working for you so I can try some of the same things. I've had some issues getting my Celestron focuser to be recognized in NINA or Sharpcap. It works sometimes, but then sometimes not at all. I've also tried using ASCOM drivers, but haven't had good results consistently. I'm going to try again with a clean laptop that has nothing installed. I've seen CPWI on some of your videos. Is that what you use to connect to the mount and focuser, then connect to Sharpcap, or is there a more reliable way? I've tried using the focuser on USB as well as via the connection to the mount. I get about 50/50 success on a given night.
@@DaveAndrus You have to use the CPWI no matter what, if you want to use the Celestron mount and ASCOM drivers. You connect everything in CPWI first and than open other apps if you want to i.e. Sharpcap etc. whilst CWPI is still left open in the background. Also, watch this if you are using celestron focuser th-cam.com/video/zdFxqMM5O1o/w-d-xo.html
@@YASAJTV You are 100% correct! I re-read the CPWI manual, and it said that I had to install the ASCOM platform first BEFORE installing CPWI--something I never knew. CPWI will not install the ASCOM drivers at all if it doesn't see the platform first. That was my main problem. So I uninstalled CPWI and ASCOM, rebooted, installed the ASCOM platform again, and then CPWI. Success! This had been driving me crazy, and it was a simple case of installing one thing before another. I also found that I was running on a beta of CPWI that did not update properly, so I made sure to use the latest stable release. Thanks again!
Impressive!
Thank you. when I am not riding. This is my other hobby.
Nice video....is not that too much weight for that mount?...just the ota weight gets the full payload for that mount...

Yes, it is now all working finally. I also just did my first plate-solving in Sharpcap, it's a fantastic feeling. Thanks for the tip. I will try that.
Where can I find this guiding frequency in PHD2, where in phd2 it is located, please
@@YASAJTV It's the drop-down next to the STOP icon, next to the slider.

Does wedge removes field rotation from the mount completely?
