It is best to consider purchasing the Celestron Star-Sense Dobsonian Telescope, which is available in 8, 10, or 12-inch aperture. For beginners, I highly recommend the 8" model.
I hate dumbsense. Sick and tired of the cant see telescope. Tried several different phones, and i even bought a POS iphone. It really doesnt matter where you are. It might work 10-30 mins. I mainly use my telescope from a balcony. Tried astrohopper. It doesnt have a clue where i am. Im about to buy az-gti.
@@DMGinc77 astrohopper doesn't give any clue where you are, how could anyone know your location if you didn't tell it? You have to align your telescope to let your phone knows where is your sky locating at. It's Literally the first thing you need to do with any starsense telescope and even go to telescope including your az gt tho. If you didn't know about alignment when the day you had az gt, i bet you could had frustrated.
Good stuff, mate! One thing worth mentioning is that the 6SE isn't under-mounted on this single fork SE mount, so it's a bit steadier. For people who arent intending to remove the scope and throw it on an equatorial mount like a HEQ-5 then the 6SE is probably the better choice. A few other bits of advice: 1. Replace the provided diagonal with a premium dielectric mirror diagonal. This will set you back around £100 to £150 but will provide brighter, higher contrast views. 2. Replace the provided 25mm eye-piece with a better quality 25mm eyepiece. Also recommend picking up a widefield 10mm eyepiece which will get you 150x magnification on a 6SE or 200x on an 8SE. This is the sweetspot for average seeing conditions on most nights. Best of luck!
You bought the right scope. Get you a dew shield and you will be ready to go do some stargazing. Yes like others say an Excellent video. I have the Nexstar 8 and the Nexstar 5.
Yea na it's good magnification but it doesn't have finder scope buy something like celestrom refractor 102 mm to 50mm best advice go for 80mm for lil budget and astronomy
Bro Since u Have Starsence Telescope Can I Know starsence Telescope that tracking Adapter works good or not i want to buy It for Locating deep sky objects since that's really hard for me to find deep sky
Thank you for the feedback, btw in previous videos, none of the narration was AI generated. It was real people's voice... I understand ur skepticism cuz nowadays AI got so good, it is really difficult to differentiate.
Good one... I am using SESA 76 Telescope for my youtube channel. There are many like birds, International Space Station and some space junk one see passing by.
This telescope can only be moved by the electric motors, it can't be moved manually, I like to move it myself if I want.. they should have designed a clutch system like most expensive telescopes have. Also the single arm can introduce vibrations easier than double fork mounts. Just a couple things I've run into using this scope.
sir your videos are really helpful thanks a lot please make a course related to astrophotography or if there is any course available than please suggest me if it is possible love from ranchi ☺
Great video mate, very informative. I see you are located in India, is Dew an issue for you when using the telescope in colder weather. I'm in the UK and think the Dew will affect me more. Do you have dew shields or can you make a video about using them. Thanks
Good morning I use a nexstar 8se camera starsense alignment with skyportal I can't use a 2'' diagonal or a camera because they get stuck between the ota and the mount when the telescope goes towards the zenith I set the slew limit on the racket and direct skyportal it doesn't change anything sometimes the ota turns 180* and the camera ends up upside down bottom😎 please help me paul
Have you tried to fix the OTA on mount a slightly further on dovetail.? It should give you a little space between mount n OTA while pointing straight up.
I use both automatic and manual telescopes. If you are beginning with astronomy or sky watching, you should begin with manual telescopes (refractive). Celestron Nexstar 8 SE is one of the best Dobsonian telescopes available in the market. However, it lacks the astrophotography part. You need to use a separate mobile to capture pictures.
Nexstar 8SE is not a dobsonian telescope.... I had a manual refractor when I started... It's too much hassle to keep objects in FOV all the time with manual telescope s...🤗🤗🤗
@@TheAlienTechsif a telescope is too much hassle it will never be used. The convenience of the auto finding will make a big difference for amateurs. This was a great video, thanks.
@@TheAlienTechs My 13 year old is discovering this with his new Christmas present ( 60 mm , F800) toy telescope. He's enjoying it. Hoping to upgrade him, but waiting to see if his interest remains (as well as how long it takes him to break his telescope)
Appreciate the information, I'm torn between this one and the celestron starsense explorer 10, I like the computerized options on the 8se but will I see More with the explorer 10? Thanks
StarSense series is good...with 10-inch u will see more details...but also consider portability... StarSense 10 is a dobsonian telescope which is much heavier than Nexstar 8SE.....if u just want a visual telescope which is most of the time sitting in ur backyard..then go for StarSense dobsonian....if u want go to telescope which u can easily take with u during travels then go for NexStar 8SE...
I just try mine (Celestron Nexstar 8 SE) to have a better view of the Super Moon (3 nights this week) and it's was blurred :( I tried with other stars, I couldn't see nothing with my len. I went to the countryside to have better night sky and came back home disappointed. I done all the steps and I don't know what I have done wrong. With my old small manual celestron, I never have that kind of problems
I have this telescope but when calibrating the red dot finder and the scope, I could not get the red dot to reach the object which was shown in the centre of the eyepiece (it was beyond the limit of where the red dot could move). To do this, I have to loosen the mounting screw of the red dot finder and move it up and down the mounting base until I found a point where the red dot was on the object. Did you encounter the same problem?
you can use small shims on the dovetail mount like small pieces of a business card for rough alignment and then you should have enough room for adjustment. I actually had to add 2 business cards UNDER the mount on my old Nexstar 130 SLT to make it work.
@@mattsloan32 Thanks for your suggestion. Not sure if it will work on the 8SE as the mounting base for the red dot finder on the 8SE is very much shorter compared to your 130 SLT but I will try to explore on the idea you shared.
@@byang You are correct it might not work as well there. I will also add that one of the first things I did when I got my 8se a few weeks ago was add a Telrad finder which is on a totally other level than the default celestron red dot finder. (not sure how I forgot to mention that earlier) Celestron should really upgrade their base finder scope.
I bought one of these, I set it up, tightened the scope mount as tight as I dared not knowing at what point it might strip, moved it around, etc. Went to twist off the cap and the tube jumped off the mount and landed on the ground. It was horrible.
