I don't know how tall you are and if you're able to do this in your van, but for me, being able to stand up and walk around in my van would be crucial.. would not be able to enjoy life on the road without it..
I think they're all extremely narrow. Which I hated. I'd buy a shuttle or smaller bus for that reason.

Hi, I have a friend who’s 4’ 8” tall and has to keep her seat back b/c of her girth. She bought adaptive products to place on her gas & brake pedals that work very well for her. I’m sure there are many designs that might work for you! Good luck.

I have a 2006 GMC high profile I don't ever bring anything in my driver's door I just go to my side door and I have the same problem with the gas pedal but I just have my knee a half inch away from the wall and I'm fine...my back windows don't open at all but I do have the small windows in my side windows like yours...my bed is the couch that came with the van so it's lower than yours

Allison! Many thanks for tip about the Smell Training Kit. I never had Covid, but somehow my smell went away. Kaput!! Doctor not helpful, so I am turning to your recommendation...fingers crossed!!!🤞 Stupid question, can you convert your van into a pop-up, like the ones I see on the road?? I have the same model van, the driver door for me, no big deal. As far as air circulation, I put a large electric car radiator fan on the small side door with air blowing out. I would open the rear slide window that has the window screen, I put a variable speed controller on it. Works great! Air comes in through the window, with no bugs coming in side because of the screen.
I keep my Honda EU2000i on the floor of the passenger side and yes, the door opening is just barely wide enough... 😎

I have a 1997 cargo van , I would love to have the space you have and the storage. I think I would give up a bit of view for storage. I impressed how well EVERYTHING fits
All the things you showed would drive me crazy, and I am not a picky person. The windows not opening would never work for me. I would feel trapped. And the driver's seat and gas pedal........ you must have nerves of steel. Thank the Lord you have a wonderful sense of humor!! Stay safe and well.

I just got a 2004 GMC SAVANA 2500 and I'm going to slowly convert it into my home. I have the same problem with the driver side seat and I figured it would be a simple fix but I've gotten used to it too. I love the closet space you have but I don't know if I would want that much space or to be able to set and look at a beautiful view. I'm sure I'll figure it out as I go. For now I'm just part-time so it works out for me just fine. ❤️

I also have pop out windows in our van, and 2 of the larger side slide windows have been essentially glued shut with some kind of sealant to stop leaks (from previous owner) and we can't even open them *yet*. Our van is at the mechanic getting the engine all fixed up so we can drive it right now, so all I can do is wait and watch vids about builds etc... and of course your wonderful videos. There has got to be some way to fabricate screens. Maybe just get those hanging magnetic pop together screen door that you can hang in a double wide sliding patio door (not the smaller regular house door size) and fix that across both sets of door ways then you can pop them open to open windows, and they will snap back together with the already installed magnets. That would at least offer some screen protection whether or not you have your doors open or windows. I am getting some of those for sure, as we used the smaller size on our Scamp travel trailer door way and they work really well. Just trying to give you some ideas... :D
Try heating it up some w hot hair dryer. Do this outside, since you have no idea what they used. If it's clear, probably silicone. If white, could be grout/silicone combo. Or, just get your serious Milwaukee box cutter and edge it up to the glass so you don't scratch it. Sort of how when removing city stickers you leave the blade pretty much flat for that reason.
Good pointers to think about for sure.
I hate the pop out windows too. Especially now it's so hot.
Have you ever thought about modifying your van some to make these things somewhat better to your liking?

I don’t know if it would work but maybe those back windows with the sliders maybe you could take them out and they would also fit upside down and then you’d have the sliders above your head🌿
I wish I had all the windows that you have. My pro master only has back windows that I had to get installed myself!

I had covid a year and 3 months ago. My taste and smell is just now returning to normal. I still occasionally get phantom smells. Not sure why smoke seems to be the smell that shows up the most. For the longest pizza smelled like cigarette smoke. Hope yours returns to normal soon! Loving your channel! 💖

I use those exact same storage bins (in blue) in my Chevy Astro and they work great. I was thinking about the Express but since I will be in stealth mode for a while in urban areas I wanted ease of parking. I think that some of your dislikes are solvable.

Hi Allison! It looks like you need a periscope to look at the view while laying on your bed. Then again that would attract seagulls wouldn’t it? Those birds are everywhere, I have seen them as far inland as Twin Falls, Idaho and my cousin says she’s seen them in Iowa… My old van had those classic 1960s slatted windows with screens inside. They worked well for opening up a nice breeze coming into the van, but rattled loudly while driving. They also look ugly by today’s standards. That van was built in 1969, and I don’t think I have ever seen those kinds of windows on any van or RV that was built since that time. Also I hope your smelling is restored. Personally the best smell I can remember came from a donut shop that baked donuts on sight like Kristen Kream coming inside on a cold night. See if going into someplace like that helps you. It was 1967 and I was 4 years old, but it was the best aroma I have ever experienced and I never forgot it. Yet I know that it will smell like manure compared to what we will experience once we get to Heaven. Always focus on that my friend, and the things that annoy us now won’t matter in the end. Enjoy Wyoming, it’s a place I have often visited. Have you seen prairie dogs yet?

Think one problem the bed set too high but that would be my design problem. Im going to keep my bed low. Maybe a gmc savana be better. Watch out if you got a anti theft system. Them things are expensive to replace.

Wow I didn't even know a smell kit existed. I lost my sense of smell way before Covid and nobody can figure out why. Things smell way off, like you said about your air freshener smelling like cigarette smoke. I will have to get one of those kits.

Omg, I can't stand the gas pedal being smack up against the cowl. There is hardly any foot room in my parent's '97 express and after a whole day of driving my knees are killing me. Feels like I'm my legs are crooked just to get my feet on the pedals. It's just dumb. The '97 is pretty much like yours except yours look like you have a little more foot room on the driver's side. That is pretty much the thing I dislike about the van besides the mystery battery drain.
You have a short somewhere. Diagnostics should find it.

From what i can tell, most of the hates arent really the chevy van design faults but your interior build. Lower bed would solve some of those problems.
Maybe you could put a block of wood on your gas pedal?

For the high pedal, I cut a piece of yoga mat and put it on the floor. Lifts my foot up to the perfect height and prevents my heel from slipping. Works great!

Not a comment but a question. I have the same van, 2003 Chevy Express conversion van only mine is not an Explorer. Regency did my conversion. So anyhoo I have the very same annoying defect with my driver’s seat. I have only 1500 miles with my van and I am not getting used to it. Please tell me what it ‘needs’ to get fixed (and how much $$ was the estimate).

Sounds like the original owner ghosted you after he found out the cost to repair the track.
Are smelling essential oils? I got my smell back by smelling certain essential oils it brought my smell back.
Would love to know if the sniffers work for you. I've been dealing with smell issues for over a year.

I have the Explorer upfit on the econoline platform. But I had the same problem with the gas pedal! I found a gas pedal extender that just screws on over it (stepupgaspedaldotcom). I was worried about ordering (I had to order by phone?), but it was legit and arrived quickly. I keep worrying it will come off and I'll crash and die... so I check it frequently... and it's totally fine. I also have the zero breeze and love it!
Holy crap, that zero breeze is $1,000. Yikes! Oh well, I guess it’s fans for me. 🫤
