The old one is not a flimsy bash plate and is not designed for any protection. Its a air dam

Just installed by Billy Goat bash plate this morning, I really think they could of included mounting hardware with the plate for a few extra bucks.

Did you end up replacing the fasteners? I'm doing the same to my GU this weekend but wouldn't mind buying some new high tensile bolts for it.
No I didn't, but would still recommend you do so...
