Great video. Just to add I have the EzCan on my GS and have a pair of Denali D4, Soundbomb and my GPS attached to it. Works fine. As you say mild bit of wiring but nothing that a competent person can't do. And saves a bit of money over the CanSmart system.
Hello, I'm French , I don't understand all your video. what the real difference between EZcan and Cansmart? I have a 1200 RTLC 2017 and I don't know which one I have to gate ... Thank you
With the latest generation EZCAN I believe the only difference now that a the price. They both do the same thing and use common connectors for Denali accessories.
Thomas, If you have Denali lights, c’est la meme chose parce que ezcan gere egalement les connecteurs 3 Fils denali. Il be peut dependent pas faire le auto dimming
Totally agree. The title of the video says it will be a comparison between the Ezcan and the Cansmart. No meaningful comparison was provided. In reality both devices can power the three Denali accessories. The only difference between the these versions of Ezcan and Cansmart is slight differences in the configuration options available. Both devices are electronically the same. The Denali Cansmart is made under licence from Hex Innovate the makers of the Hexezcan.
Great video well put across I’ve just ordered a XR and this would make life much easier to fit but there is no tpm system on a XR so I don’t think I can use it 😔 great video though 👍👍
Hi There, thanks for your question. It`s only my preference but the horn between the forks simply looks too `busy` for me, clutters the area and may in rare occasions get in the way of the forks turning or going up and down. For me personally the rear of the bike seemed an ideal position - I was a little unsure as to it`s vunerablity but following a successful tour to Corsica and back I deemed it an ok position.
Wow never seen a rear mounted Denali horn on a GS, may consider this install spot when I get my kit from Denali. With regard to Hexscan vs Cansmart, what is your preference? First time I've seen such comparison , the only difference I've seen so far is the front turn signals, when enabled, it is able to turn off only the left or right Denali D4, while the Cansmart turns off both D4s.--thanks for sharing
IMHO it`s all the same hardware - just different software doing different stuff! My preference is the Denali system as it allows the use of other Denali stuff without any concerns about compatability. However, for much less money the CANSMART does the same thing, allowing the use of many other different brands ancillary items .
Cymarc Bike Parts Another advantage of the Denali CanSmart over the HEX EZCan is the possibility the change the intensity of the lights over the original BMW Controller at the left handlebar, right? I ask, baecause I have the latest hex can and really miss this function
Could someone explain how to connect HEX ExCAN Gen II to BMW OEM Auxiliary lights? Looking for a video or explanation but unable to find one... Thank you very much in advance
The plug on the hex device plugs directly into either the tyre pressure monitor or (if you haven’t got the tyre monitor) into the socket mounted in that area. The area is under the seat and above the rear mudguard. I think that hex do show this on their fitting instructions on their site - I’m certain Denali does and it’s the same fitment. Hope this helps 👍
I think so - I’ve Denali D4’s and they were plug and play. The only thing you would have to check is that the socket on your D2’s fit the plug on the Can Smart but I’m 99% sure it would
Desmond Yang hi there - sorry I’m afraid I don’t. It’s a generic one I purchased from eBay, quite cheap but does the job and much cheaper than an original. If you search for it on eBay it should come up.
I dont think that the first extra brake light you demonstrate does anything at all as it is positioned way to close to the original, It needs better seperation maybe at the bottom edge of the number plate. The Denali brake light is far superior in brightness and positioning.
Thank you for your support - all the credit must go to Aaron as he works with imperfect tools (me!). Thanks for taking the time to post something and ride safe.
great vid. I have always been under the impression that private vehicles (ie not emergency vehicles) are not permitted to have strobing lights, even though they are a great safety feature for bikes.
Good point and yes you could well be right. The product is made for world wide use so I guess it`s down to national laws and where it is used. It`s possible to cancel the strobe effect via the programming. Thanks for your kind words and input and ride safe.
@@MarkHooton1 I can tell you this, combine strobe with Rigid SS angled pods, and you feel like Moses parting the Red Sea. I will never again ride a bike without strobe,
You are correct, in relation to the UK. Strobing lights not permitted. Having said that, I think you'd have to really upset a traffic officer or come to their attention for something else to have to worry about it.
Thanks for the comment, we feel it best to only give our opinion on the product and leave it to the customer to find the price of the parts in their own country, prices can also change at points and we then wouldn't want to be seen to be wrong. I hope this addresses your question.

Excellent input there fella, I`m sure people will benefit from it. Thanks and ride safe.
hi, how do you connect denali d4 to hex ezcan? do you need to cut off the end of light harness, and connect it to hex ezcan plug?
Please note that this video shows the older ezCAN version, not the current ezCAN II. This has the same connector type as the CANsmart.
Thank you

Dale, thanks for your kind comments - if there’s anything we can do to help with your XR please let us know.
Cymarc Bike Parts thanks il keep it in mid when she arrives 👍👍
Excellent!... one question, was there a reason for fitting the hornon the bike rear instead of between the forks?
Hi There, thanks for your question. Great video … can the ezCan be used also on older bikes? I have a 2001 gs 1150
I’m really not sure but would suggest the Hex website to look into comparability for your bike 👍

Thanks for a great presentation. Would the Denali D2 attach to the Smart Can system as a plug and play fit?

Cymarc Bike Parts Ezcan also comes with 3 wires triangular Deutsche connectors
Hi great sharing👍
May I know what is the windshield brand and part number you have on the bike.
Is the color light smoke or dark smoke?
Much thanks

Thank you for your input Matt
will it void the factory warranty if something goes wrong with the electronics?
Only if it’s the direct cause but you can say that about anything you fit to your bike
How can you change the settings if you don’t have a laptop if one opts for the Denali pack
Use a friends laptop or desktop.
A great presentation. Thanks for sharing it.

hi buddy from south Africa. I love that Gpz in the background. is it for sale?
Yes it is - if you email me on mark@cymarc.co.uk I’ll send you some information later today

What's the price? Not a single mention of the price.

With little work, you can fit other products on the gs/a and not only save hundreds but also weight. Denali like touratech is WAY overpriced
The sound quality could be better.
Totally agree and very very sorry!
Waist of time. Comparison from 7:22 to 8:15 and quite superficial. Change the title please !!
