    Hi Bruce, noticed that you only tightened the battery negative with your finger tips on the driver. I would recommend you get it as tight as you can. You don’t want it coming loose and loose connections get hot and stop working. Other than that looking forward to the next vid. All the best.

    Cool. Nice and simple. A mate just installed one on his GS700 to connect aux lights and Denalli sound bomb. I haven't heard of the Innov K2 camera system before now, so be interested in how it performs. Had plenty of close calls that would have been good to have footage of if it had gone pear shaped.

      Yeah that’s basically what got me looking for a bike dashcam system. I bought the INNOVV C5 and loved it, then INNOVV UK saw the vids I did and asked if I’d review the K2 if they gave it to me.

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep getting asked what it is!? Genuinely didn’t think anyone would watch the vid unless they wanted to install it, so thought they’d already know what it is 😬
      Ok here goes, cut and paste from the previous 974 questions about what it is 🤣
      The Beamers (and some other bikes) use a can bus wiring loom/system, which can make adding additional electrical accessories a pain as they don’t always play nicely with the native electrics.
      The Hex EZCan simply plugs into the existing can bus system and you then connect any auxiliary electrical accessories - like spotlights, horns, power outlets, dashcams etc, direct to the EZCan, then utilise the built in app to configure them to your bikes existing switches and buttons.
      This means you can then turn the new spotlights on via your bikes existing light button/switch, activate the new horn with the bikes horn button etc etc
      There’s loads of vids on what the EZCan can do, it’s a great bit of kit.
      I’ll be using it to install the new INNOVV UK K2 camera system soon 👍

    An enjoyable vid Mr T. I’ve been wondering how hard it would be to install the Hex EzCan onto the bike as I would like an extra pair of lights - seems very straightforward. Just one question, my 1200GSA is less than a year old, do you think fitting this would invalidate the warranty?

    • @teapotone

    Hi BruceWould you know does the hex can cut the power to an accessory when the bike is fired up. I have the same bike as you but ride with a tomtom 500 rider when I power up all is good it talks to the autocom dongle then when I start the bike power is cut to the tomtom and 2 to 1chance it loses the dongle blue tooth, if this doesn't cut the power it may cure my woes !!.Great video, like the cable tie trick.

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello bud,
      The Hex EZCan actually has a stock setting for sat Nav so it’ll provide constant power to the unit whilst the ignition is on, then cut the power once the bike is turned off - so as not to drain your battery 👍

    • @49googie
      @49googie 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruce thanks for the reply, I get what your saying but would it cut momentarily to the sat nav when firing the engine thus making the sat nav go into shut down.

    The technology is great these days. I installed my Clearwater lights with their version of a CANbus interface which they call a CANOpener. I think the HEX ezCAN is probably a better device but since I’m just doing the lights I wanted plug and play and Clearwater uses a different connector. I like how you hook the ezCAN up to a computer to set it up although I wonder if you can change lighting settings through the Wonder Wheel like you can with the CANOpener?

    Bruce, I have a very serious question. I am thinking about purchasing a 2019 R1250GS Adventure. If I remember correctly you had a significant electrical issue with your GS, is that right? Would you recommend the 1250GSA? Have you had any other issues? Thank you, I completely trust your opinion. Your a bit foolish for taking that GXR1000 round the planet but your heart is pure :-)

      When I took the 1250GSA for a test ride it had a catastrophic battery failure, and I’ve never ridden one since as I’ve just not had the chance as yet.

    Great vid Bruce, also worth mentioning a few low costs bits from eBay (earth return waterproof fusebox, relay, BMW switched live loom connector & a few sundries can do the same job for a lot less money (around £35), especially for us not living in the Broke-My-Wallet world. Some of these devices have a permanent small current draw, not sure if this one does or why these people don't produce kit for other brands! On another note, your hands don't look like they've ever done any work, how did you manage that?

    • @teapotone

      They’ve done plenty Ray, don’t worry about that, got the arthritis and scars to prove it bud.
      Yep you can certainly use all that stuff you’ve mentioned, but this vid is about installing the Hex EZCan, hence why I don’t cover anything else.

      Wait until you have done the innovv and then let him tidy up. I put a similar system on my bike last week. There are 5 cables, power cable, cable for gps, cable for handlebar control, and the two camera cables. It all fits under the seat but if Andymancam saw the cables he would be a gibbering wreck...

    What does the hex ezcan do?

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What would be more helpful, would be an explanation of what a HEX EZcan is, rather than demonstrating the very challenging proceedure for removing the seat!

      Sorry Mark, I’d assumed that if you were searching for ‘Hex EZCan installation’ you might actually know what it was??? Hence why I don’t explain what it is in the vid.
      However,

      When the notification popped up on my phone , the first thought I had was that you were fitting a new exhaust system!!!! It was only when you started waving the package around the penny dropped. I started watching on my phone and I didn’t get any sound until I did a bit of fandangling.

    HEX EZcan is a disappointing product. Doesn't control blinkers or brake light, the software is unintuitive, limited, and looks like a teenager designed it.
