- Depending where you work some hospitals swab before and some don't, I'm an ICU nurse and our hospital policy is to swab however a lot of hospital policies now say you don't need to unless visibly soiled. It's been shown infection risk from not swabbing is minimal and there is no real need unless site is visibly soiled of course, for example if you think about an insulin dependent diabetic they never swab themselves before giving insulin at home. - Angle of needle insertion for subcututaneous injection is 45 - 90 degrees, you will probably learn 45 degrees in books and at uni however 90 degrees is fine, in practice it's more of a judgement call if you're giving to an anorexic person or someone with low body fat then you will want to go at 45 degrees, but for the average person there is enough subcutaneous tissue that you can go in at 90 degrees no worries. Hope that helps

Its weird how in many places they squeeze the skin for IMs. I have learned to do that with SC injections and stretch the skin for IMs
He’s performing a SC injection. Says on the heading
This ain't a IM injection and the fact that 51 people who have watched the video have liked ya comment baffles me
Read the comment one more time@@osker450
In pediatric patients,if muscle mass is not adequate,we have to squeeze the area, for bulk formation..🙏🇮🇳

1.Why didnt he wipe the site with an alcohol swab?
2. If in the stomach area what’s the angle of the needle if injecting a pre-filled syringe of 1cc?

Very useful information sir. Thank u sooooo much for sharing with us.
Should i aspirate to check for blood before injection sc ? Or it's for im only?
You don't have to aspirate in subcutaneous injection
@@chaste8980, i saw a video giving IM but she did not aspirate, the video tells that in IM no need to aspirate
